Take the ZZS for a spin. It's mighty fast if you can handle it (I can't)

I knocked .24sec. off of my final.
But, now I see there's, potentially, another 1sec. remaining.
Looks like I'll be chasing it for a while.

I'm now using the standard S2000, had to buy one and break it in. 👎

I use a slightly different setup than the TypeV.
I'll post it after I've worked out the kinks.

Nice to see you here miata. :)

had a quick 30 minute blast (dont know if I'll get another go though :( )

Have run T's in 22.950/41.950

So I tried out the two cars... One car is MUCH easier to drive than the other. But I didnt spend much time to set them up appropriately. Spent 30 mins on both. The car that is easier to drive at the moment has me on a best lap with T1 22.9 and T2 41.5 all clean. I'm not really worried of not doing well this race, just as long as I reach my goal with any of the two cars I'm using. Will have some more later.

man im tired of me messing up on each run...
sometimes i can get fast T2.. but my final sucks
and then i can get slower T2 and ended up with a faster final...
i need consistency... :banghead:

I have a T1 of 22.9xx and a T2 of 42.0xx, i know there's a few more fractions of a second that I can shave off. I just have to nail it once. That's all I need, once.

Geez I,m really strugling with the s2000 I just cant get a good time with it. The best time I've gotten is with the EVO

t1 22.660
t2 41.858
:(

In that case, I would just go with it. (noojra)

I know the s2000 is the best car for the race because of the "-cc" not being eligable, but Im gonna run something different just for the fun of it.

Back later, gotta run at the moment, but I have some car choices Im thinking about that I might talk about... I could also use anyones advice, so just post 'em if you got 'em.

yes my best times on the track were with my S2000
but i see some potentials in S15 silvia, it handles almost the same with S2000 with the right settings.. BUT.. it lacks top end power... if only the redline for that S15 is 9k rpm..
but yea.. that -2k rpm disadvantage throws the S15 1-2 sec behind the S2000.. PLUS.. the S2000 handles the corners rigidly, maybe because it has a better overall balance and 9k redline

i've been wanting to try an MR2, MR-S, and Miata for this race but i dont have enough money (no gameshark, no Xport :( )

as of now... im working on the S15 to get at least the same time as the S2000

I'm glad to see your running the s15... I actually have gone into testing with it 2 different purchasing sessions. If you ever have the chance, you should try and get the sharkport. It makes this so easy with money and prize cars.

Right now Ive got a few on my list, but the elise 190 prize car is looking like a sweet vehicle right now... back after testing. till then...

yea i really want to submit my s15 times in the end.. because it seems like everybody is going with S2000
but we'll see.. if only i can get the s15 to run quick enough to match the s2000 times...

I've been running the S15 myself. I'm starting to get better with it, although the setup is starting to become really weird. Best T1 is 22.9, best T2 is 42.2, but my fastest lap time is about 7 tenths slower than the other car I am trying out.

Is the Motorsport Elise a racecar? because I really would like to use that car to race this week...

Edit: nope, according to the game it is a street car...

You know what I would do if I was you jpec... run the lotus for a few minutes, then run the s2000 and when you dog the lotus time on the first couple of laps with the s2000 you will just give up on the motor sport.

Then if you still wanna run the motor sport, just deal with the decision and use the elise 190.

As for me...
s2000 is at par
silvia: par + 2-3 seconds
elise 190: par + about 4 seconds
celica trd sports M: par + 6 seconds

Not great, but I had some fun with that celica.

I did just what you said, but there was one problem; the S2000 refuses to handle the right way for me to be able to control it aptly; so my times were around 2-3 seconds behind par set by the motorsport elise...

Well thats something else alright... Maybe now that your convinced of the elise's capabilities you should just race with the "elise 190."

Try that, and if you still beat the s2000, turn in that time. However, just remember that boom is a moderator who treats the races in the weekly series as he sees fit or in the better interest of competitive racing. (he does a good job with it and always has since week 1.)

The motorsport elise is being considered illegal in this race just as with the rx7. sorry.

oh, kinda one of thos unfair advantage bits? I'll buy that (I'm gonna see what I can do with the 190; weight, engine, and other things are very similar to the motorsport, so I'm rather confident...)

i almost come to a conclusion that the s15 will never match the s2000 match...
i ran 20 laps with the s15 and my best time with it was +1.5 sec behind the s2000
so... lets all use the s2000 to keep the game fair ;p jk

I hate the S2000, it handles like crap on a log...

edit: ok, it is now slaughtering my times with the motorsport, so I take that comment back, but I still do not like it...

I was able to use my Mitsubishi Lancer Tommi Makinen (stripe) car for the first time in this race. I doubt I'll be able to keep up with the S2000 times, but that's okay I like the Lancer. (besides I'm in the beginner group, there's no pressure on me. heh)

well, not for very long. My times are gradually falling. I'm guessing that I'll be running a consistant set of 22.7s and 41.6s before the night is out...

Me neither.. I'm starting to feel a bit like that Tofu Delivering, AE86 Driving, Sushi Eating, Mountain Pass Drifting, son-of-a-gun-whatshisname-asshole-character-from-that-tv-cartoon-series idiot...

With the TK ZZS I can easily beat my sector 2 and 3 times (done with the S2000), but at the straight and fast sweepers before the last turn it loses SOOO much time to the S2000.. The silly (and IMHO very enjoyable) TK ZZS is, simply, underpowered compared to the S2000...

Yeah, something this race reminded me of was the idea of hp/w being important, but not everything...

Take the 190 for example, and you get the same hp/w of the s2000 (roughly) yet the s2000 is crossing the finish at nearly 20mph faster than the 190.

Its because all though they may have similar hp/w, they don't have the same overall power. So on that long straight where its a 6th gear run at *160, the elise is at something like 130.

The s2000 is the car for winning the overall in the race. (unless you are really kicking some fast times with another car ;) )

Yup.. Hybrid the Modded S2000 engine into the ZZS and the S2000 would be out of a job faster than you can say bye :D

Well of course... with the s2000 engine the overall power of the cars would be the same, only the lighter zz would have the p/w advantage... now if you can find me this car without hybriding I will happily use it, but till then...:irked:

Care to share some sector times? The S15 is fun to drive but too slow in the end ( about 7 tenths off the TME ), and since I don't want to use the S2000, I'm using the EVO VI TME. Took me about 30 minutes to fiddle with the setup and get my time. The S15 took me about an hour and a half and the settings are still bad. This is a really good drift car, its fun, but its too slow to be sliding all over the place. Makes for nice replays tho :D

My sector times are
T1: 22.9
T2: 41.5

I'm eager to see what your getting :)

Hmm well I wont have the chance to test the S2000, busy weekend coming up(tomorrow Im going to a funeral and later on the day I have a soccer game) and on Sunday it's day to do homework, and it's almmost impossible for me to play on Monday cause I get back at home late....so well I'll send the time to boom on Monday..well cya all and good luck!:D
