Well, I 'struggle' to drive at all!!!

Your T times are half a second faster than me, Balls, looks like I've got some work to do!

ballstothewall
Having the same problems myself!
got T's down to 26.546 & 1.02.113
but on my previous fastest overall lap i absolutely blasted that last sector away, and now can't bleedin replicate it!
would be knocking well over a second off total times if i could!

:ill:
woo! I am gonna get last this week. I know it.

*cough* no ya not. I seem to have done a better T1 by .5xx then in 2nd sector I did worse by .6xx and some how still beat my overall time. :indiff: And 50 laps yesterday, no go , just couldn't get a good run at all.

I can replicate the T1 and T2 times over and over!!! (to within 0.010 secs)

but can i buggery got through the last section as quick again??
(By the way that's a rhetorical question!) lol

No answers-on-a-post-card required, done over 50 laps today and tho i can get close, no cigar waiting for me at the line!
:( :( :( :banghead:

BTW on a completely different topic,

What views are my fellow D3'ers using?

have used the bumper view for years, going back to gt1 and even on the pc i use the same view! But just started using the front of roof view, and it does help when trying to cut those chicane corners.
You can see better where the sides of the car is, and still get good feedback about under/oversteer.
IMO of course

👍

I can't use any other view BUT that front bumbper cam...

Same here. 👍
I used bumper cam until a month ago when Small_Fryz said he used roof cam.
Gave it ago and found you can see into and around the corners much better.
Which ment faster times. 👍

Maybe I'll have to give the roof cam a shot and just get used to it .. see if I can shave a little time off.

I'll start playing with it today, maybe on some non-critical tracks (trying to learn the 'ring). I did switch to roof-cam yesterday at one point, before this discussion, but - of course - didn't have the patience to get used to it ... I have a completely different sensation for speed and it threw me off.

Has anyone else been anal enough to do a latest count of div3ers?

By my count there are now 80 drivers in this one division!

Pity is, it seems that most of them aren't introducing themselves and having a chat
Each to their own i suppose?

I for one am very happy to have submitted my final time for this week, it's been a complete grind! Have not had fun really, it's just been a damn hard slog. Most of the time i've been having to take a break because i was getting frustrated and angry with myself(and the combo).
Not once did i finish a session with a sense of satisfaction, was a real pity.

Never mind, new week, new race to do! Just hope it's a less frustating one!
Later peeps! 👍

I keep up on number of drivers everyday. Got to so I keep the Leaderboard updated on drivers. I get the feelign that soon, maybe after 5 weeks of running (Maybe sooner) that there might be a shift in some pople also of divisions. There are a couple when I do a driver comparision of the weeks, that I feel should go to Div 1 and a few of you all go to Div 2. But that is CFM's call :)

Ijust ask for mercy when my time is seen .... :P

You know the day I get get bumped to Div 2 will be the same day hell freezes over? :D

But I can see where you're coming from! I think after the next few weeks, we'll see drastic decline in those Div. 3 drivers participating on a regular basis in the WRS and then there will be a huge shift in the standings....

This should be some very interesting next few weeks...to say the least...!

Dont worry guys, once the racers can consistently demonstrate the pace of the 'higher' division they will be shifted.

Though its up to CFM to decide what the gaps are, This could be an example.

Div 1 = 1.5 seconds slower than the winner
Div 2 = 3 seconds slower than the winner
Div 3 = more than 3 seconds slower than the winner

So if you are consistently under 1.5 seconds slower you are div1, you can have the occasional bad week and still remain (look at week 2 for me) but as long as your consistent.

maybe CFM can clear it up a bit, but im pretty certain thats a good example of what the real guidlines are based on.

Not to detere from CFM and how he desides, but I feel that Alpine and angelx will be moved to Div 1 no holes bar. They perform well above the mark, and I even compared them to the last Qualifing Div 1 racer and they always out performed him.

I have done the same with all racers, and when comparing to the bottom qualifier of the Division 2, there are a couple I feel would go to Div 2. But that is my opinion, and like said, it is CFM's call on who and when.

But until anything is offically stated, 80 racers, start you engines. Div 3 Leaderboard will be updates by this evening US time, Wend AM Japan time.

Well, allow me to be a new member to Div 3 and make it 81. :)

I use the DS2 and am learning even more precise control in GT4 than I had with GT3. I've played since about 2 years after the US release of the original Gran Turismo and have been hooked since. I just got GT4 2 days ago so I doubt I'll be great competition for a while.

Looking forward to seeing you folks at the races.

ILoveMyMiata ... you little bugger, you stonked me in this last race ... I've got my eye on you (well, your exhaust, apparently) ... I'll catch ya'

Hey everybody in D3! I just did my first WRS race. and I didn't do to bad either! i am actually in the top half of the pack. but with more time I could have done so much better. I will spend more time on the next one:)

I have been playing GT since the beginning but really got into it with GT3. I just played that game to play it for hours and hours.

I still can't believe those D1 times though. what the hell! :)

I'm glad week 3 is behind us.

Kolyana, since you laid down the challenge by beating me last week, I had to keep going at it until I thought I had a chance at moving up in D3 this week. I even beat my son this week, but that's largely because he waited until last night to do his first runs, and got immensely frustrated (which I told him would happen with this track/car combo) and said he'd wait for next week.

But I also introduced a neighbor to WRS (JMitch17 or something like that) and I he promptly stomped me (and most of D3) on his first try. So now we've got 3 WRS drivers in the same cul-de-sac, although I suspect if Joel keeps it up he might move up to D2.

As for what view to use - I have no use for the behind the car view. When Vasser or Schumacher (or even Kanaan) sit 5 ft behind and above their car while racing, maybe I'll give it a try. I switch back and forth between bumper and roof cam. I REALLY wish PD had given us a in-cockpit view, or even a "level with driver's eyes" view. I find that the bumper cam on cars like last week's EVO that have very light suspension gives me a heachache with all the diving while braking, so I use the roof cam. With tight suspension cars, I favor the bumper cam, except when racing in close with other cars because I can't see the road in front of the pack.

So on to week 4!

There was a link posted in the general GT4 forum which showed a technology that allowed a user to rotate his/her head and the view within a game cockpit changed appropriately ... literally, the user looked left slightly and the game would shift view accordingly ... it was very smooth, very precise and very slick.

Something like that with a cockpit view would be .... :sighs:

Kolyana, just noticed your location. With the count of WRS racers (is that total or just division 3), that means that at least 5% of the racers are from Portland, OR!

My son (I Don't Know), JMitch17, and myself are all over in Aloha. Are you actually in Portland or some outlying area?

I had no idea so mnay people were from this area!

I'm based in Clackamas at the moment (the nice area se of The Town Center). I'd love to start hooking up with some of you guys.

Ah-ha! So YOU'RE the infamous neighbor I heard about in the PM from JMitch17. nice recruiting work, good sir. Carry on.👍

BTW Miatas Rule.:sly:

Welp B-Spec'ed alot on my WRS save game last night, but spending 40k to get a car running good enough to get back up to 65k, sigh. *curses mail system*

Hope everyone is running good races out there, will keep the pits clean and coffee a brewing, or tea, or anything needed. This the time wish had 2 PS2's here in Japan, so could work on either my GT Mode, or running the Ring for practice while B-Specing the other.

yea its good to see us old timers around im 35 I have 2 kids
Actually a majority of WRS regular racers are old timers. I'm 33 and have 3 kids.
But I'm still div2 and don't wanna get caught by Kolyana while popping into this div3 thread, so I don't stay long.

I SEE YOU!

(and I'm 37!)

Our cul-de-sac got new neighbors a couple of weeks ago (I'll have to work on recruiting one or both of them) and I still haven't figured out how they let these young children not only get married but buy houses! The wife mentioned she has a brother in high school and my mind is busy thinking, "hmmm, one son in high school, one daughter out of high school".

I'm 42 with 4 kids (3 in the house). The big question is what's the average of division 1 racers.
