Our cul-de-sac got new neighbors a couple of weeks ago (I'll have to work on recruiting one or both of them) and I still haven't figured out how they let these young children not only get married but buy houses! The wife mentioned she has a brother in high school and my mind is busy thinking, "hmmm, one son in high school, one daughter out of high school".

I'm 42 with 4 kids (3 in the house). The big question is what's the average of division 1 racers.

That the better know as "Divison of young, great eye to hand corridination racers" Ya know that stuff we been losing over the years? :P

It would REALLY say something if the majority of Div3 were the old timers and the majority of Div1 were youngsters :(

Perhaps we should make stats on the drivers' age :scared:

Ask Nat, don't tempt me :P
I'll try not to tempt myself.
It's 1:40 am and I've been busy for one hour with editing a 1.5 Mb GT4 game save in a hexadecimal editor to see if it can reveal some indication on the way it's encrypted.
(It seems that cracking GT4 to make hybrids will be much more difficult than it was with GT3).
So I'm in a mood to gather all drivers ages and create small graphics.
Or else I'll go to bed since I have to wake up at 6:45 tomorrow. Er, in five hours.

Cool, both fo you hopto it ... not often that you'll hear me fess up to my age, but I'm 37 and if it's an excuse for my driving, I'm damned proud of it!

most of us have said how old we are in the introduction threads!

/the stat man goes to work .....

For those reading this thread from any division, if you do not want to post your age, you may PM me. No names will be associated in public by me, just doing a basic overview.

Got to do something while I can't race yet this week.

Yes that thought has crossed my mind too. I'm 48 . I know my reflexes arnt what they used to be (waist measurement too) :P

Well now i need a different excuse for why i suck, being 21 and all. Hopefully there are other youngsters in this division.

I'm not one of the young ones, but my "I Don't Know" (my son) is 14. His reflexes still work. I won't speak for JMitch17, but as his neighbor I think he won't mind if I say he's closer in age to my son than to me (actually now that I do the math, he's probably pretty close to the center).

So there are young 'uns in the group (and they're both beating me!).

Ok, just update from the Stat guy here.....

Division 2 (38.8% complete of 67 drivers)

Avg Age ~ 26

Division 3 (24.7% complete of 81 drivers)

Also added all of WRS at the bottom
@Standard ~ you still will be the youngest.

sorry to intrude in your thread guys, but as the ring is coming up i thought i would quote my post from your div3 leaderboard to give you guys some tips and such for it.

I can point you to sevearal videos of the nurb, with skilled drivers (no not me) at the wheel.

4 vids with 3rdgenracerX at the wheel, 3 of them are at the ring. These vids are with the DFP and are looking at the TV so you get to see the real life wheel movements as well!

Rudi Rasier does a lap in a Arcade M3

so there is 4 vids in total of the ring, all which should help you. When learning the ring learn it in sections, dont worry about the whole track just learn it bit by bit. For me i learnt the start and end fairly easy but forgot the middle a lot (1st carousel - just before 2nd one). But after running it for fun a lot, ive now pretty much memorized the whole track.

Also do the nurb license tests,
A - 7 Cornering - Volkswagen Golf V GTI
A - 14 Cornering - Audi TT Coupe 1.8T Quattro
A - 16 Cornering - Mazda RX-7 spirit R Type A (FD)
IB - 2 Cornering - Mercedes Benz SL 500 (R129)
IA - 13 Cornering - BMW M5

They are normally crucial sections which can gain or loose a lot of time, especially A - 16. Gold them if you can but if you are unable to, always watch the demo and you should be able to at least silver them :P. When racing the nurb try to visualise, or at least know the next 2 - 3 corners so you are able to set your car up for them and be prepared, that way no corner is a suprise. Once you have learnt the track and are able to predict the next 3 turns or so from anywhere on the track then you go about refining your lines, and watchin the vids more closely.

I hope i helped!

NP Small .. 👍

I know Nat and I have been bouncing stuff back and forth on "Da Ring" to try to push the other more. Just didn't get to run any laps yesterday, still tring to B-Spec some more $$ on the WRS Game Save. :yuck:

Hi everyone,

As I see you guys want stats, here they are :

1. 29 years old
2. Network Administrator
3. Division 3 !

Hi Chris mate,
Just in case you haven't pulled my details off my profile,

I'm 37 years young physically, and about 18 mentally! ( yes Nat, we all know men never grow up....lol )
👍

Lord, I'm right there with you. I swear that I never grew up mentally after 18 ... wiser, yes, even more mature ... but I embrace my childlike qualities much more vigarously now!

And as I sit down with my DFP and fire up GT4, cussing in a not-so-feminine-manner as I spin off for the nth time after running a record T-sector, I can hardly be one to boast about acting in anything other than a slightly child-like-way.

And I'm quite proud of that :)

(My youthful spirit, not the cussing or penchant for screaming at the TV)

Well...if Ballstothewalls & OG can admit their ages...I can guess I can too! (:D)..

I'm 35....well..for the next 5 months that is! .....

Well guys and gals, you know what they say....
The older the wine, the sweeter the victories over those damn young smart-asses!

BTW, taking a break from the mountain, and having some fun around the ring!
Might post a vid later(that is if i can keep it clean) and tho's of you with faster connections should be able to view it with media player, etc.
That is if you want to of course :scared:

Later, Neil

Un-fortunately you will have to wait till i get a max-drive or AR-max (if there is any difference) tommorrow! :ill: 👎

Got a lovely, clean lap in my gt-mode RX7 (un-modded according to the game, but really, maxxed out on everything except for the turbo,it's only st2)
Even tho' i did make a couple of mistakes, am quite happy with it........

6:54.227 in a road car! 👍 👍 👍

Unless of course anyone knows how/where to host a 24mb video file for free?

otherwise i can e-mail it to anyone interested, just pm me with your address and i will gladly send it! (Ain't broadBand/adsl great?)

Neil

Have checked it myself now, and it works, so i'm happy!
BTW i am using a bog-std usb mp3 players with the ar-max software and it works ok!
Cost me £15 from Argos ( obviously only helpfull to people in the uk ) for the ARmax.
So i can transfer both pics AND replays now, using the same mp3 player. No software rqd for pics, AR-max software rqd for replays!

Sorted!
👍

I tried to use my 1 gig thumbdrive with the maxdrive software, but it would freeze halfway through the transfer. I ended up with a codejunkies 64meg maxdrive ... a little OTT, but it's pretty and I can do other things with it if I wanted. I guess.

Must be a lucky SOB, all i had to do was flash the firmware back onto the mp3 player and it magically started to work!

Anyway, it's a pity as an NTSC player you can't watch the replay, never mind
👍
