Monaco practice was fun race between those close walls and narrow track - hit them couple times.
I might have little chance to join saturday practice but sunday i can't make.

After some testing, I'm going to drive a 458 instead of the GT-R. It feels better for me.

Sorry but the part time independent 458 has gone :(
I have adjusted the car list so it makes a little more sense and you can see what cars are available 👍

I am pleased to announce the results from this weekend's teat sessions (5&6)

As you know we visited Spa on Saturday.

Starting with the times as I know them from the "free run" session before Qualifying.

And the results from the race.

WARNINGS

Only 1 this week and it is a bit of a mister meaner but I want to point things out now in the pre-season so people shouldn't make the same mistakes and get silly warnings/penalties in the main season.

RS: PIT EXIT LINE.
When you exited the pits you crossed the white pit exit line, please try to avoid this as I don't really want to hand out warnings/penalties during the main season for something so minor.

Quite a low turn out for Spa (partly due to the track being DLC) but was still a very positive evening of testing with lap times being close and the race also being close with that 1 min gap as always from 1st to last :D

Then Sunday we went to Monaco where I'm sure a lot of people (including me) was expecting some incidents being that the track is so tight. But I am pleased to say no incidents were reported and 10 cars started (the most so far). We even had a spectator watching the race (xxGIGGTY-GOOxx) who was pleased with all drivers not taking an advantage at the chicane after the tunnel :D

So I would like to say a very big thank you and well done to all the drivers for a great, clean and close race at Monaco
👍

So here are the times from practice.

We are now heading into the last weekend's testing meaning we are 3/4's of the way through the pre-season.

As always a big thanks to all that attended

PRE-SEASON TEST SESSIONS 7&8

The session's will begin at 6pm with a free run practice for you all to get to know your car's and find a setup that works for you.
At 7:45 I will do a quick spec check and we will have a shortened qualifying session to decide a grid.
Around 8pm we will start a race planned to last about 1 hour (laps will be decided on the day).
This will allow us to see if the different strengths of each car are working properly and the car's are balanced (or not) and if any adjustments need to be made.
It will also provide everyone with some practice racing each other before the real racing begins.
And give me a really good look at how many laps I need to make each race ;)
ALL RACE RULES WILL BE IN PLACE
Although penalties will be relaxed.
This does not mean the you can get away with aggressive/dangerous/unruly driving.
Just means championship penalties don't apply.
Unofficial warning(s) may be given if the stewards in attendance see anything unruly.
In the event of warning being given then that driver will be watched closely through the remainder of the pre-season test's.
Too many warnings will still result in a penalty or ban from racing in the season.

This weekend will be the last weekend of the pre-season testing sessions and we can all start looking forward to the main season getting started :D at last

On Saturday we will be going to "the temple of speed", Monza.

MONZA WILL BE HOSTED BY IWINNUMBER1 IN MY LOUNGE
I WILL BE OUT THIS NIGHT SO NOT ATTENDING

TRACK LIMITS
As I'm sure you all know there are many places where you can cut the track and gain an advantage so as always the stewards will will be watching.
The corners will will look at closely is:
1st chicane: both apex's
2nd chicane: both apex's
Turn 7, Ascari chicane: As always we will be looking for you to stay within the white lines AT ALL TIMES INCLUDING THE EXIT
As always if a mistake is made and you end up outside the boundary of the track the penalty can be avoided with a small lift of the throttle to counter any advantage gained 👍

PIT ENTRY
The pit entry is on the right of the start of the main straight, there is a white line to mark the start of the pit lane, please stay to the right of this line.

PIT EXIT
When you exit the pit lane there is a white line marking the pit exit, again please stay to the right of this line until it ends.

On Sunday we will be going to the final pre-season test at "the green hell", the Nurburgring 24hr.

TRACK LIMITS
There aren't many parts of the track where an advantage can be gained from being outside the track limits, most will cost you time.
There is one big cut that the stewards will be looking for even though I'm sure none of you would bother.
This is:
TURNS 11&12: Final chicane of the GP circuit
There is a big cut here across the grass that you can not do by accident that cuts the chicane out all together.
ANYONE SEEN DOING THIS WILL RECEIVE A VERY HEAVY 30 SECOND PENALTY,
REMEMBER EVERYTHING IN PRE-SEASON IS HALF SO MAIN SEASON THIS PENALTY WILL BE 60 SECONDS!

PIT ENTRY

The pit entrance is on the right at the start of the 1st straight of the GP circuit, there is no line to start the pit entry, only a wall, I dare you to try not being on the right of said wall

PIT EXIT
There is a white line that marks the pit exit, as always please stay to the right of this line until it ends

I will be trying to keep as much of an eye on everyone's lap times as I can but will be on track for as much time as I can. Any driver that feels their car is too slow/fast ( like you will complain about that ) please let your concerns known by both IWIN and myself so that we then know that a review is needed.
Full details of post test information regarding cars, warnings, lap times, test race results etc. will be posted in the 'last event details' post 👍

Hope to see you all there 👍

Can tell GTA V out, been very quiet this week

Should be fun this weekend New pedals will actually be able drive without shouting stupid pedals lol

Dan is in my lounge getting some practice in at Monza.

I will be on at some time today running some laps at the Nurburgring, but not till later this evening.

I'm not going to be on gt5 till late tomorrow ill message you all when I open a lounge

I am doing a little running at the Nurburgring, 2 laps set so far a 8.21 and then a 8.09.506, neither lap would I say was perfect.

INFORMATION ABOUT TOMORROWS TEST SESSION

I will be about for a few hours tomorrow after the F1 qualifying but will be off before 6 and leaving whoever is there to host until our next steward (IWINNUMBER1) arrives to take control for the rest of the evening :D

From my initial couple of laps at Monza, best was a high 1'44 and that was probably going over slightly at the chicanes.. for a definite clean lap im in the 45's....

I thought perhaps I'm geared too long, so shortened it by 15mph... and I went slower in every sector by about .2..... according to that logic, if I gear it to 300mph I should be in the 43's

Only 44's? I'm sure you should be doing times like this
IWIN/MP4/1.43.7
IWIN/Z06/1.43.9
IWIN/Gallardo/1.43.9
IWIN/SLS/1.44.4
Or IWIN must have been eating some kind of rocket powered peanut butter when he set those times

I'm sure too.... I can't figure out where I'm going wrong, I'm sure I'll get there though, usually do

I'm sure the R8 won't get much under the 45's I'm doing 45.5 or slower :(

finally, a track which it isn't fast at

The handling cars do have an advantage over the power cars, because on power tracks, if you get a draft you can keep up. On handling tracks, the power cars have no way of keeping up with the handling cars.

That is very true but there is more power tracks on the calendar and if the handling car loses the slip stream then it is game over as you will never catch back up so there is a lot of pressure to stay consistent :nervous:

I disagree, there are 2 power tracks, Daytona + Monza.
And three handling tracks, Laguna, Monaco + Nurb

The rest are a good balance really,

Suzuka -- kind of leaning towards the handling cars with that 1st sector
La Sarthe -- you matched me (your quali lap)
Spa -- again, more towards the handling cars with that long middle sector

When you look at it like that you are almost right with the exception of Sarthe because that was a 1 off lap, I doubt I will be able to do that again

Ok well even if you class La Sarthe as a power track, its still 3/2 in favour of the handling cars on the definite tracks, and 2/1 on the rest, 5/3 overall

You were also not far off matching the times of the handling cars at Laguna Seca.

I did just try to make a calendar using only real track's and didn't do any testing on them before deciding on the calendar as there aren't many other real world tracks to choose from and I do believe there is a reasonable balance of power/handling and with you and Greasy teamed up I think you guys should do well :D

You are right with Laguna, but the pace comes at a cost, my tyres were ruined after 27 minutes. Meaning I need to eek out 3 minutes on a set of tyres or will have to pit 4 times during the race.

What are the chances of swapping Monza + Monaco around on the calendar btw?
