You are right with Laguna, but the pace comes at a cost, my tyres were ruined after 27 minutes. Meaning I need to eek out 3 minutes on a set of tyres or will have to pit 4 times during the race.

What are the chances of swapping Monza + Monaco around on the calendar btw?

Bit late in the day to be changing the calendar, out of interest what is your reasoning and thinking for this?

Well like we have been discussing, the handling cars have an advantage at any track due to slipstreaming. But they also have the advantage in track choice. The biggest track for advantage is Nurb because of the lap length.

When the season gets going, and success penalty is added it will change things abit.

Suzuka -- Handling cars likely to win
Daytona -- Power cars likely to win (3 handling with PP Pen)
Laguna -- Handling cars likely to win (3 power with PP Pen)
Le Mans -- Power cars likely to win (3 handling with PP Pen)
Spa -- Handling cars likely to win (3 power with PP Pen)
Monza -- Power cars likely to win (3 handling with PP Pen)
Monaco -- Handling cars likely to win (3 power with PP Pen)
Nurb -- handling cars likely to win (3 handling with pp Pen)

By swapping Monza + Monaco it 'should' give the handling cars a penalty on their best track, meaning closer racing, and bringing the track split between power/handling closer.

It may seem bias from me, but don't forget Suzuka + Spa would precede Daytona + Monza -- tracks where there isn't a definite power/handling advantage -- meaning power cars could receive a penalty on their best tracks aswell. It's entirely upto you, and appreciate it's late in the game to propose it, but IMO its a little fairer overall

OK that is very sensible thinking and I will put it to the driver's to vote on 👍

TRACK SWAP VOTE

Do we swap Monaco and Monza race days?

So we would have Monza 1st on 02/11/13
and Monaco 2nd on 09/11/13

I am going to put this to the vote on the grounds of the following

When the season gets going, and success penalty is added it will change things abit.

Suzuka -- Handling cars likely to win
Daytona -- Power cars likely to win (3 handling with PP Pen)
Laguna -- Handling cars likely to win (3 power with PP Pen)

Response should be:
#1 yes swap them
#2 no keep them as they are
#3 Not bothered either way

👍

I know Caine will vote #1 and I believe he is right that overall it will be fairer to change so I will vote #1 as well :D

As always vote counter will be in the current information post on the OP :D

None of this matters to me anymore :(

one of the clamps that holds my wheel down broke last night and I have no way to fix it so can't drive until I have had a rant at Logitech and tell them to send me a new one being that this is under a year old :(

Ill be in micks lounge in about 2 or 3 hours guys but I don't think ill race I might just watch also 144.6 I got at monza in r8 no cutting so the r8 still fast with a good tune but the viper can do 143 with some work on the tuning

I don't care how we do the tracks ill just vote 1 to keep Caine happy

I will put that in :) 👍

Wow quick time, I can't better 1.45.5 :( but for the foreseeable future I can only host and watch :(

Remember guys 2 tyres on the black stuff as long as 2 tyres are on the black stuff it's not cutting so if 3/4 of your tyres are off the the black stuff then your not cutting as 1/4 of your tyre in on the black stuff remember that when qualifying

Well I won't be doing any practice today as I now have lashings of super glue on the clamp of my wheel and I am going to leave it until tomorrow to give it a better chance of setting strong enough to use tomorrow.

well I'm clueless. tried pretty much everything I can think of and it makes very little difference to overall lap time, even adding 150kg and adding more power made no difference to laptime or even tyre durability....

edit:

Glen just joined and tested the 458 + Viper, in both cars getting a 44.7 --- I think I need to invest in some peanut butter to get on the pace with you Iwin!

A bit too late to say it, but I can't attend today's training and race. I won´t be at home in time. Enjoy it.

:( not sure if i'm gonna make the race 2nite, heading out at 2pm to fit a clutch and dual mass flywheel to my neighbours car...if all goes well i should just make it in time..

OK mate have fun with that

I'm online ready but its going to be touch + go if I can make it for the start of quali. I will definitely be there for the start of the race, I don't mind starting at the back if I'm late, and you don't mind me joining late.

That's fine mate 👍

I am about to load GT and get to testing (if my clamp holds)

And another thought

I NEED ALL DRIVER DETAILS CONFIRMED BY TOMORROW EVENING PLEASE

I.E. CAR CHOICE

testing lounge open

Spec checks will be 5 min early to allow an extra 5 min to qualify due to length of the lap 👍

Another great test tonight 👍

Was going to be very close at the end between myself and Glen but then he ran out of fuel on the last lap while about 3 seconds ahead in the lead, very unlucky there. Otherwise I think the usual inconsistency split the pack :(

That concludes testing now so we can get down to the real racing with the 1st race this Saturday :D

I will post results from all the testing and post all the 1st race info as soon as I can but I have a busy day tomorrow so will probably be Tuesday.

As posted before I will need any unconfirmed drivers to confirm their status and all drivers to confirm their cars if not already confirmed 👍

I have given Dan (GIGGTY) until Friday to decide as I kinda talked him into joining and he is unsure and new back to the game so needs to get some extra practice :D
