Bacon salt I can see myself using. Maybe the oils. I can see that making a good rub.

The important thing to remember when eating any flavored, processed food is that it is just a combination of chemicals designed to simulate the flavor.

I know. Heck, half the bacon out there is probably the same. I just want to believe so much in bacon flavoring chips and such.

Slater's Bacon Salt is awesome stuff. The only bacon salt I like.

@FoolKiller @Solid Lifters:

I'll have to try it out. What's really the best use for it? Chicken, steak, potatoes? What would you guys suggest?

Also, I had to have a Butterfingers to cover up the taste of the horrible Pringles.

Baked potatoes, steak, burgers and whenever you need to add salt to anything.

The best 'bacon flavored' food item I ever liked next to Slater's Bacon Salt was Ritz Pepper Bacon flavor. Awesome stuff, but just too salty for my taste.

@kikie Swiss cheese lasagne sounds awesome.

I'd love to see pictures of what you eat.
Even though most of what you eat sounds like bird seed.

3) Everything mixed together. Yummy!

Sometimes I use different ingredients, like blue berries, strawberries and stuff. Basic ingredient like honey, seeds and raisins is used in almost every mixture.
Sometimes I use coconut blossom sugar instead of honey or combine the two.

Very interesting combination of food. Looks perfect for someone looking to cut calories and lose some weight. Tasty and healthy yet not too high in calories. Also looks very friendly on the digestive system. 👍
I am guessing you are in the process of trying to lose weight?

I use the J&D bacon salt. It's easy to find, as even Walmart carries it, low sodium, and it comes in multiple flavor variations, like hickory, applewood, and peppered. Kernel's Seasons also makes a bacon cheddar that is pretty good on chips and potatoes.

I use bacon salt the way I would seasoned salt. Potatoes, veggies, fries, steaks, etc. I like the variations in flavors so that I can match it to certain foods. I put a 1/2tsp of the peppered in with my green beans, as I grew up eating beans that were cooked with bacon or ham chunks in the liquid. Now I mske beans with chicken bouillon, peppered bacon salt, and olive oil.

One thing to keep in mind is that the flavor of the bacon salt by itself is not close to how it will taste on foods. Don't buy it and pour some in your hand to taste and judge it on that alone. Like it or not, how it works on foods is still different.

Well, I guess I'll be be stopping off at WalMart after I pick up the wife. I have a couple steaks that in the fridge wanting to be barbecued. I think they would be great with the applewood seasoning. Thanks for the info, Foolkiller.

Not all flavors available in all locations. I have yet to find Applewood locally, just regular, peppered, and hickory.

For tonight's dinner:

Yes, I'm trying to lose wight, with the emphasis on 'trying'. It is nearly impossible due to the anti depressant I have to take. But I'm not giving up! :P

My choice of food has nothing to do with losing weight. It is my understanding that food is nourishment for the body. I try to eat as healthy as possible and still enjoy everything I eat, which I do. :D

Brunch was a Pastrami and Havarti cheese sandwich. Dinner was at Big Booger's Summer Job, Marcos Pizza.

So jealous. I can't have any of the food items you posted.

For dinner we went to Elk Creek Vineyards with my brother and his wife. I had their weekend special sirloin, which came with a Caesar salad, roll, bake potato, and green beans. My wife and I split some chocolate cheesecake for dessert. We also got a wine flight, tasting five of their wines, and then I got a glass of sangria while my wife finished off the flight and had a full glass of wine.

Last of the Marco's Pizza leftovers.

My aunt (Tante) arrived from Holland today and got some Graskaas cheese and Droste chocolate. Graskaas is the best cheese on the face of the Earth. It's a Gouda cheese made from cow milk where the cows only fed on fresh green Spring grass. Graskaas = grass cheese. Very flavorful, buttery rich, soft and mild (jong).

Lunch today:

Homemade Mushroom soup.

Broccoli with onions, garlic and potatoes

Saucage with cheese in it.

I second that!

Interesting lunch break today...

My mate was on campus today and invited me over to sample some beers that his friend makes... his pal is a brewer who has recently opened a new brewing company here in Glasgow:

These are the three 'core' beers that they are making at the moment, a lager, and IPA and an 'apple ale'... the first two were very nice, the IPA in particular has a very nice caramel finish. The apple ale was also very tasty, but quite sweet (as you might expect) but was very different to any beer I've had before.

Anyway, we are now planning to visit the brewery for lunch next Friday, on the understanding that we will probably not make it back to work afterwards :P

Had nothing all day because I knew I'd eat something epic tonight. While watching the All Star Game, I had a cheeseburger, fried home 'taters and a Stone Smoked Porter.

I was craving a flame kissed slab of cow today, so a quick trip to the grocery netted me steak and grilled balsamic marinated veggies (squash and zucchini).

Did you order it blue?

My neighbors wife gave me some of THE best chicken salad I have had in my life. I have been eating it for about 3 days. I think I have the ingredients fully figured out. So this weekend I am going to try and re-produce this recipe without actually asking for the recipe. :sly:
Sorry no pics. But I will post pics after I make my own.
