Ran a couple wtc700 races to check things out and fairly impressed graphically but way more impressed with the triggers on the controller.
The FFB is a game-changer, I don’t like playing on the 4 because it doesn’t have it. I imagine I’d be using a lot more assists without it.
I knew I was in for a long day when I couldn’t find tunes for 3 of my test subjects and the others would not include any Exeter or Praiano tunes, will make up for that tomorrow.
Started the day in the Hyundai Genesis 3.8, really kind of nice, better then expected. The rain came in at the end of L2 and didn’t let up until L5, so only managed 6 laps. Gonna’ have to retest as I got no FL as a result. 4* got me a 2nd Tesla, not sure what I’ll do with that…
Next up was the Jaguar F-Type and oh boy do I like this one. Terrible fuel economy and nothing I could find to fix it, so its 2 laps and in for fuel at Sarthe. But it sounds great and has oodles of power. I’d love to see someone put a tune together for this car.
Next was the Veneno and I had been hoping for a Praiano tune, but that was not to be. Instead, I tuned another revision for her at 700 to try and clean-up some understeer some had complained about. I was completely ready to turn and burn after my refill after L5, but swapped out for Wets (which I almost never do) because there was a pretty purple mass looming. Of course, it completely skirted the track and I lost my hot lap opportunity on 7. That was a real pity, I felt I was going to turn a 4:05 at the least, damn.
Into a swapped Delta for a Jeje tune that I had to tweak a bit for economy’s sake, but got her dialed in pretty nicely. ‘Dynamic’ Weather tried to rain me out of this one as well, but the little Lancia wasn’t going to bow out so easily.
For the final test of the day, it was the Nave 15x’s Lexus RC F’s turn. Not a bad little run, but this car is severely hampered by poor fuel economy. Sub-4:20 lap and sub-32:00 overall, so that works.
Now I need a nap. It takes about an hour to set everything up, figure out the fuel mapping, etc…definitely more involved than I thought when I started this project. Until tomorrow!
