What did you do in GT7 today?

Bought the gt1 porsche so i can keep going with my oldschool gt1 collection! Did Sarthe in de engine swapped Challenger R/T and all the new menu books. Havent bought any of the new cars yet. New menu books were fun. 3 multi class races and 3 fun races with nice road cars. Then kept going with forza horizon 5. That game, although with another focus, has a much better carlist. If you could combine the racing cars and car handling of gt7 with the road car list of fh5 and the track list and race car list of Project Cars 2, you would have the perfect racing game.

I tested suspension setups with GT-4 Ford Mustang at Watkins Glen and at lap 2 I had a lethal accident. At the high speed chicanes right after the main straight I turned left and felt the rear end sliding just a little, I counter-steered just a bit but suddenly the tires bit into the asphalt and I steered right into the right hand barriers head-on doing around 250 km/h.

It reminded me a lot of Allan Simonsen lethal accident - when his Aston Martin slipped on the curb at Le Mans, he counter-steered and then when grip suddenly returned he went head-on into the barriers full speed. (Rest in peace Allan :nervous: )

Anyway, here is the pic. I crashed so hard into the barriers the rear lifted off the track, that's a first for me in this game. (Also, I'm pretty surprised to see the GT4 car has no flat floor)

Because I burned too much time trying to automate more of my spreadsheet, I only had time to do a pair of Tomahawk S races around Route X on the GTP account for a worse-than-worthless height-adjustable sports suspension for the 2002 Viper from the 4-star Wheel of Despair.

Well, I thought I had Casparello’s S15 dialed in perfectly, but when I went to run it, not so much. I focused way too much on trying to get 3 laps out of it and ruined the car in the process. It got to the point where I was going to write it off completely, even after the win. Even went so far as to drive my not-swapped S15 and started making arguments in my head as to what a waste the swap was for the car, which is somewhat still true as the stock engine is great it. Then I tore it all down, reset the chassis and kept it at WR1 for better power and just accepting it as a 2-lap car. What a difference that made, the car actually became fun to drive again and I managed a new feat in the process, lapping the entire damn field!

Then I tuned up the Huayra to see how many credits I’d have left over. Had what I needed, so before I pulled her on to the track, I had the pleasure of this…

Back out on the track with my Huayra and holy cow that thing has torque for days! Couple that with adequate fuel economy, allowing for 3-lap stints, made for a very pleasent drive.

Now for the fun part of the day…

Took out the Peugeot 208 and its close, but it has some very odd behavior when decelerating, it needs some suspension and LSD work far beyond my very limited expertise. I got a 2nd place, but couldn’t overtake the leader. You want a challenge? Take this car to Sarthe.

Superbird next, thank God Praiano had a tune. If you can remember that you’re in a classic American muscle car with all the characteristics that come with it and the weather cooperates, its a really fun drive…the 4th attempt at least.

Firebird for the finale, it was easy after the Superbird. The swpped engine gives it enough legs for 3 laps or else this may have been a repeat of the Plymouth. I’m just thankful I managed to survive these 3 cars.

By far the most challenging day of the CfS project. I’ll be sure and not schedule like that again, lol.

Damn I need a beer.

Opened up the hypercar Menu Book, realized I have a fully built GT-R that I made just to screw around with in the early days of the game so I decided to use that.

It's a handful in the corners until you get used to it but holy god is it a rocket. I hit 220 on Trial Mountain, 235 at La Sarth, and 220 at Koyoto Driving Park. Won each race very handily. Super fun, does make the racing trivial though :D

Completed the Neo Classic menu with the R92CP and will now grind a bit more credits at Le Mans/Sardegna to buy a few cars, namely aiming at the three new ones and the 911 GT1. I then need to figure out how many PP a car needs to be to enter the Hypercar menu without failing, can't seem to find any information anywhere

Called to see Mr Hagerty. He sold me a Maserati Spyder, a Nissan Skyline Super Silhouette and a Porsche 911 Gt1 Strassenversion for a total of 7.15 million credits. Seems like a bargain. The Skyline has paid for itself already, winning at Le Mans and Sardegna. Took the Maserati on a gentle trip down the Ring. A bit squirrelly under braking, I think. Not driven the Porsche yet.
The 3 star daily workout ticket of dispondency revealed a Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR1... Go figure... A nice change of luck??...
Practising for Sundays rearranged Discord race at Dragon Trails Seaside in the Porsche 911 RSR Cup. Can't seem to get a rhythm going. I'll do 8 pretty good laps, then end up binning it 😩. It's always in a different place though. Can't work it out. Probably just need to walk away & have a fag break, figuratively speaking, as I don't smoke. You know what I mean..

- I’m in the process of unlocking everything on my second account (mainly for daily races) and currently completing most of the CEs. Won’t be doing the rally ones though.

Completed both extra menus and the Neoclassics menu. Bought the Super Silhouette, a FD RX7 to install the 787B engine and a Nismo R35 to install the Ultra high rpm turbo I got in the roulette. The 5 star ticket gave me the electric VGT Jag, used it to complete the trial mountain race of the hypercars and blasted the other by using RHs. Tuned an Enzo for the next menu races at Le Mans and Kyoto. Bought an Integra, CSL and R32 at the used, swapped the engine on the Integra.

Used the 2J to cheat the Alsace endurance mission. Won the Gr 4 Atenza from a 4 Star. Then did Interlagos and Daytona CE's. Not worried about golding them right now, just needed some quick cash for the Nissan.

Kicked my day off in Jump_Ace’s 930 and thought I did really well, until I saw someone else’s time in Praiano’s version. Trust, its not the tune, its the driver I’m sure.

Inadvertently completed my marathon during fuel economy tuning and took a piddly 3* that yielded $10K. It has been my experience that if you complete your marathons in a race you win, you get a 4* minimum, oh well.

Finally purchased my Strassenversion, I’ve been waiting a long time for this one.

Hopped into the Rampage and was pleasantly surprised. The little bug-zapper really gets up and moves along the course well. Of course, the weather attempted to foil my attempt at a hot lap again, but I managed to cross with about :11 to spare and save the 7th lap. Not that it mattered when exiting the final chicane and spun, killing my best lap by about 8 seconds.

RE Amemiya-time, never driven or heard of this car, but whatever had a good time despite being a bit underpowered, that car sticks like glue!

Bought a 2nd Escudo, now its just grind time for a Maserati and a pair of those Skyline Super’s.

Finale for the day would be another FF, I’m 1 for 2 (Integra YAY, 208 NAY), what would be the outcome? Out came the Clio R.S. from MasterGT. Admittedly, he tuned this car 500, but I had to see what I could do with her. Really fun, challenging drive. The car did quite well and I would’ve turned a 4:20 lap if not for the game tricking me on to IM’s for the final 2 laps.

Off to a party for my baby girl, enjoy your day folks!

On the Plus account, as I don't have an 80's Gr.1 car, I went back to circuit experiences, struggling to gold Autopolis. The 3-star Wheel of Despair insulted as usual with the lowest-possible 5,000 Cr., the third time in the last nine it has done so.

On the GTP account, even though I don't have engines for them, I bought 4 Focus RS's for future engine purposes, then sent the R33 to Tokyo for the mileage, turning 3,000 miles. The cashless 5-star roulette gave a Bore Up S for the RCZ GT Line.

While everyone was drooling over that Skyline Super Silhouette, I used the more attractive Porsche 962C to destroy the Sardegna WTC800 on hard difficulty

Posted this in the wrong thread today and didn’t realize it.

I did the Civic Time Trial on Trial Mountain then bought the Maserati A6GCS and took it to Sardegna. I was too tired to do anything else.
