What did you do in GT7 today?

Sardegna twice with the RA272, on the usual strategy, thrice with the trusty Lexus SC430.
Bought the T1500T-A, imported my GTS livery and spent hours to fix the livery, as it came out pretty broken from the import.

Did a few set up runs in the RA272 to fine tune it more.
Bought the McLaren MP4/4 (damn happy chappie I am) and took it for an out of the box ride on Spa.

The daily troll ticket, 4-star, gave me the lowest 10K credits. Who would have thunk that?

So much today!

Had fun in the wreck fest that was daily race B. To paraphrase DR Strangelove “How I learned to stop worrying and love the wreck!” Lol.

Bought the Porsche 911 Carrera RS CS (933) ‘95 from the used lot and practiced that at Grand Valley South for next week’s daily race A. Also bought the Merak SS ‘80 (I’m not sure why) and the Skyline Super Sihouette ‘84 from Legands.

To earn some money back, I did the circuit experience of Fuji international speedway, and Kyoto driving park and Golded everything.

Finished off with some custom races.

Started with some coffee and cigarettes to get the focus up and then bought the marek SS and the maclaren F1 car...

Tuned the Marek to its near max and took its through its paces on wtc700 le mans... was not impressed at all by its performance the car has 516HP at only 1100kg and a max torque of 55kg/fm and yet it is painfully slow in acceleration even when turbo charged with mid range turbo!!... so yeah not impressed...

Next I took my maclaren F1 grp.2 1995 to the 1 hour spa it all went well I suppose except on th 21st lap there was a apparently a yellow flag out but that car has a streamer across its windshield and it shadows some of the top hud information and I was in a corner with no marshalls waiving yellow flags so yeah that was a hour wasted didn't get the clean race bonus because of lack of information....

I wish the game would give me a race instructor telling me usefull info during the race like in real life rather that then music I not listen too anyway...

Tried my hand at the circuit experience at circuit de la sarthe "le mans" did gold all sections until I reached section 5 after several tries wihtout even getting bronze I realised the game fed me useless info in terms of where to break so I just gave up and not gonna try it again....

My daily roulette ticket was ofc 3 stars and the lowest price 5k cr. I kinda just laughed and realized I will propably never get the invites I need to finish the menu books...

And now I need to recoup my money from the marek and maclaren F1 i will propably do that at le mans since spa drains alot of stamina for some reason :)

A bit of a late start on GT7 last night, after a long day celebrating the lad's birthday (which was actually on Saturday but 2-yr olds birthdays seem to run forever!). My main two tasks at the moment are grinding with Ferraris to buy the two Ferraris in the LCD and the three invitational Ferraris, plus continuing to share the 20-strong field of JTCC/JGTC Honda liveries I created for a custom race series.

So, firstly I took my 458 Italia GT3 off to Sardegna for 15 rapid laps. With a @Gingerale livery and a @praiano63 tune, with RM tyres, it absolutely flies! On a two-stop I'm now down to a 25:38 race time, regularly turning in 1:38 laps on FM3! I'm pretty sure that's the fastest of all my Gr.3 cars now!

Wheel of misfortune gave me a 4-star ticket which gave me racing shaft for Alfa Giulia, so that will be fitted next time I drive it...

Then I proceeded to share my Epson NSX-inspired Epson Integra Type R '98. Way more pics and download link here if you want it.

20829959510270578.jpg

Then I hopped into my pastel pink F40 (inspired by this one at SEMA) and gave it the Enzo engine I won a couple weeks back, then gave it a tune by @praiano63 - again, pure genius! Maxed at 799.90 PP, I took it to Sardegna and had to re-wire my brain after driving the high downforce Gr.2 and Gr.3 cars for so long. After a few false starts and then a few scrappy early laps, I eventually put it all together and got the hang of it. Managed to get it turning 1:38 laps, but inconsistently. I'll be running more races in it over the next couple of days so hopefully I'll be able to find the consistency I'm craving! It's such a mad looking car and nice to drive when you find the sweet spot.

I'm also planning on tuning my 458 Italia and F8 Tributo up to 800 PP to add to the Ferrari Sardegna grind pack.

O wow I never thought of taking that car on Sardegna. Im gonna try this this week as well! Cool :D

A mix of good and lame recently…

Lame:

- I had to keep my 4th or 5th? Aston invite It did not get swapped after the update

Super Lame:

- About an hour ago, my old Plasma just got a 3+ inch Black Bar of Death across the dead center of the screen
I’ve been holding off buying any more $$$ new lamps for my projector but wanted to wait until even higher tech models I’m happy with come out. I may now be forced to buy something in the interim with the TV down now as well

Good:

  • I just hit the mark of collecting 250 mil in cars, have ~65mil still for more fun
  • I had fun driving a number of 950pp cars yesterday I don’t regularly use at the new Grand Valley Prototype event. Even the Porsche 962 did well
  • I was able to resist collecting engine and other tickets that were sitting in the cafe for 2 months. I opened the day before update, hoping I get an additional chance to try again if they update in May before 30 days is up

- Finally Achieved my 3rd personal goal with Sardegna 800 fairly recently; having achieved the first two a while back
1. certain lap time ✅
2. certain race time ✅
3. Consistency: This was important and more difficult for me, so achieving certain lap/race times don’t feel like flukes that are below what I regularly race and all the stars need to be aligned

Over the course of 3 days… My last five consecutive races:

Race 5 - 24:01.418
Race 4 - 24:01.740
Race 3 - 24:04.855
Race 2 - 24:03.240
Race 1 - 24:05.756

The four or five races before this were also good, I believe 3 between 24:05-24:10 and a 24:11? & 24:14?… However that was during a two straight day glitch where at least 3 different racers on multiple occasions were Skipping all pit stops and creating crazy crashes and congestion.

Great:

My PSVR2 arrived on launch day, it’s quite miraculous. I had a difficult time with Motion Sickness but have been doing much better, successfully battling it with big improvements

small stints in a open car and use the 1000yard stare on the horizon helps alot :)
Absolutely! Agee with the importance of both of those. We can do this!

I’ve been working pretty methodically to get through it. I’ve been writing a slightly lengthy clip of my experiences to hopefully share with others for the VR sickness thread… still not done though. I know how discouraging it can be.

I just posted a mini version with some of the tips/points in the regular VR2 thread that were helpful for me, especially early on

Did a of couple Sophy races. I came in 2nd at Tsukuba on intermediate because I messed going into the last lap and I couldn't recover. I tried again and I was in 1st but the straight on the backside of the track I got spun by Sophy Violet and Sophy Red. So I quit and took the Aston Martin VGT to LeMans . That was an interesting race. I took an early big lead and as I finish lap 2 it starts raining no big deal I was planning on pitting on the next lap anyway. It starts raining really hard and I spin out a am few times and end going like 70 mph around the track. I switch to wets and lap 4 goes well it stops raining or so it seems but starts pouring again so I have slow down again and finally dries for the last lap. Then got the Megane safety car from wheel so I dropped the Pagani engine in the Supra I had. I made a livery for it then I took it Sardegna for testing. That car is beast I could barely control I think has like 900 HP and about 900 on the torque side as well so the acceleration is crazy. I still need to make some adjustments but it is drivable

When you get it tamed can you share your tune? I have the engine but waiting on a used Supra to turn up in the UCD...

1. Turned my PS5 and bluetooth amp on so I could enjoy that smooth GT7 menu music while folding my laundry.

2. Bought a second Citroen DS just for the hell of it.

3. Ran a few of my favorite short slow-car races just to get my daily workout.

4. Got a nice little '22 Mazda Roadster from my 4* ticket.

5. Frowned at the 13,500,000cr I need to spend to finish the current tickets I'm working on.

Today I entered the final stretch in buying at least 1 of each car from brand central other then those 3 Ferrari and the Porsche Carrera GT I only have the VGT cars left minus 1 now since I just bought the McLaren and still have 99M left.

And I wonder if I should buy that 88 F1 car but I just don't see any need for it now.

And I also got a 3 star again. :blackflag:

The last couple of days have been centered on the new Porsche Carrera 2.7RS. It's so unbelievably good, especially tuned to 2.8RSR spec. I've been just banging around GV with it, and it just feels so amazing and period correct. I bought another one to keep stock to drive until a red or green stripe shows up in LCD. Bought another 930 Turbo as well as a couple of other UCD cars. I hate to be one those guys that cant stop talking about aircooled 911s, but the experience is unlike anything else in the game.

Set-up my new seat and wheel on Friday evening.

Spent the weekend tired & ill, so been starring at my as yet unused PS VR2!

Will do a few money events tonight and try out VR tomorrow.

Quite a lot to talk about today. First of all I took another attempt at the hateful Human Comedy, but this time I tried Tsukuba and not the dreadful Maggiore using @praiano63's tune for the Roadster Touring Car. Lots of mistakes on my side by the end, on the lap right after the switch to RH after the rain, I was almost sure I'd lose or win by a feather, then Kokubun decided to do a double pit stop: for absolutely no reason in what could've been his last stop he stayed on full wet tires and just refueled, then came back in on the following lap to go on slicks.

20970944758107154.jpg

Here is the very moment when he said "nah, guy's been frustrated enough by these dumb missions, I'll let him have it". Thanks, Kokubun-san!

Then it was back on the grind routine, took on Le Mans once again with the V8 Miata on a dry race. This car is fast as hell even on FM6, and it actually let me run an 8 laps race for the very first time despite a lot of mistakes and time losses. And, it was a one stopper as well! On a 700hp V8! What a machine, definetly goes straight into my top farming cars of this game, do give it a shot if you have it!

After that, having watched today a YouTube video from an Italian GT player saying that you do get the CRB in Tokyo as long as you don't hit others and don't mess up the last hairpin by going wide or too tight, I decided to give this a try with the Mikuccino. Ran a terrible race with wallriding and two spins, a lot of wall bouncing, but never messed the final hairpin not hit anyone. Turns out the guy was perfectly right.

20230227_234427.jpg

Wheel of (Mis)Fortune was a 3* and gave me a whopping 5k, which will definetly be very helpful in my hunt for the Enzo and the MP4/4.

Finished all 4 liveries for the 2023 NAPA BTCC team. And did my usual lunchtime grind - the Le Mans 770PP race. Have been using the Alfa Romeo GTAm a lot recently, but decided to use the Focus RS today (in new NAPA livery, obvs). Very different strategy, but got my credits. I've shared the NAPA liveries if anyone's interested. Search #napa or #btcc in the Showcase, or my username Stoneyhome

On the GTP account, I blasted around Grand Valley in a M3 Sport Evolution for the fresh WRS time trial. I then took the Pagani Zonda R from the soon-to-expire WRS time trial to Sardegna. Even though I choked the fuel map down to 6 to get nearly 7 laps on a full tank of gas, it dominated. It isn't quite as nimble as the true Gr.3 machines, but it is so much faster on the straights.

The 4-star marathon roulette was kind enough to give me yet another Amuse NISMO, which will be the last one I hang onto. As I had a spare 20,000,000 Cr. burning a hole in my pocket, I grabbed the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe. That leaves just 4 cars I don't have on either account - the 1997 BMW McLaren F1 GTR Race Car, the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, the 1994 McLaren McLaren F1, and the 1952 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (W194), worth a total of 70,300,000 Cr.

On the Plus account, I survived a disastrous pair of spins (costing me 15 seconds) in the Hyundai Genesis Gr.3 to nip Portilla at the line at Sardegna. The insulting 4-star Wheel of Despair spat out a height-adjustable sports suspension, the second day of the last three I got a worse-than-worthless part from the Wheel.

Spent some time in the livery editor, doing some liveries on the MP4/4. Then took it to Catalunya for a nice setup.

Went to Sardegna to top up the credits again. Went down to 5mln yesterday, after purchasing the MP4/4. Doesn't feel good, so it needs boost.
Went in with the ol' trusty SC430 for 3 rounds. After the LCD refresh, I bought the Supra GT500 and Alfa Romeo 155. Took the Supra GT500 to WTC800 Sardegna, out of the box. Won easily, but that car is a thirsty one. on FM6 I can squeeze out 5-6 laps. Still, with 2 stops, it was an easy win. Bought a Porsche from UCD for an Extra Menu, got a 5 star ticket from it, but didn't open it.
Then took the Alfa to the same race, but aborted the race unwillingly, because the controller disconnected for some odd reason. No problem, since the car kinda lacked anyway.
At the end of the day, I'm still at 5mln credits.....

The 4 star daily mileage ticket gave me a Toyota Crown Atlete G Safety Car. Not the worst on the Wheel of Eternal Torment.

Wheel of (Mis)Fortune was a 3* and gave me a whopping 5k, which will definetly be very helpful in my hunt for the Enzo and the MP4/4.

.. nuff said bra'.. wheel of foreskin is just plain dumb.. but don't give up on that Enzo.. IMO, the baddest mf'er out there!.. you'll get it.. hang in there..

NW.

Came home from work disgruntled and unable to sleep, so a bit past midnight I jumped on.

- Used my Bugatti VGT to do Menu 41, after some tweaks to get it just below 850pp.

- Learned what it's like to drive a school bus with a Saturn V rocket strapped to it.

- Won the races, got my 6* ticket for that and my 4* for the daily.

- Got THE SHAFT for some car I don't own on the 4*. Great.

- Got a million credits on the 6* at least.

- Bought the Merak SS from Legend Cars.

I'm probably gonna buy it tonight, I ended the day on a 2,98 mil balance and was wondering whether to go for the Enzo first, thus completing the Ferrari invitational cars (I have time until march 16th for that), or saving up for the MP4/4 first and completing the Honda extra menu. Probably gonna get the Enzo first anyways, it's too hot of a car.
Is the off-road version a non hybrid? Or does it charge the battery in a proper way such as the 919?

I finally golden Gran Valley CE with controller (this last sector grrrrrr) and got 100k in my 3 stars ticket roulette, pretty happy!

Opened two Engine roulette tickets I had sitting in the gift box. Both gave me the same Ferrari engine of which I have 2 gathering dust already….. even if you buy the 4C and stick the engine in it, reselling with upgrade still makes a loss. Really…..
Out of the billion chances possible, my 4 last engine tickets gave me this engine. The 3 engine tickets before these 4 gave me the Audi engine twice and one Roadster Shop engine. That’s just 3 different engines from 7 engine tickets. What a waste of effort on all sides. PD trolling 2.0.
Also trolling us with a 1000 parts storage. Like you ever get 1000 tickets to fill it with.
What an absolute horrible system. I’d rather see them scrap it completely, than seeing an overhaul. If there was an option to disable them, I would.

Had time for some runs at Sardegna in the F40, winning comfortably and getting my total race time down to 26 minutes flat. I'm starting to find the consistency I want. Resisted building an F8 Tributo 800PP grinder, but might have a go at that tonight (or might jump into the F12berlinetta which is already a proven race-winner there...).

Wheel of despair gave me a massive 10k credits.

Much grindage needed to buy:

Ferrari 330 P4 (9.5 mil)
Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta passo corto (8.3 mil)
McLaren MP4/4 (8 mil)
Ferrari LaFerrari (1.6 mil)
Ferrari Enzo (2.5 mil)
Ferrari FXX K (3.6 mil)

33.5 mil to spend, current balance just over 13 mil... Yikes.
