Today has been quite a day.

First I bought the D-type 54 and the S Barker. Then I bought 6 more McLaren F1 GTR 1995 Race Cars now I have 12 beautiful F1 GTRs.:)

I'm very happy with it.
Those narrow tires do cut through the ponding rather well.
 
I did the Le Mans PP700 30 min race in another stock Gr.4 car, this time the Toyota 86 Gr.4.

It was looking good for me as I took the lead after a bout of light rain, but I was left with a dilemma - pit for slicks, get some fuel and stay on FM1, or stay out on wearing IMs and finish the race on FM6?

Turns out I probably wouldn't have won either way... while deciding whether to come in at the end of Lap 6, two AI cars (on slicks) were catching me fast, but I figured they would have to pit, and so I could maybe beat them by staying out. However, there was also two other AI cars already on slicks, who didn't need to pit for fuel and stayed out, and I reckon there would have been no way for me to beat them had I stayed out.

I pitted, and ended up being overtaken by both cars that were chasing me, plus the two who stayed out. I got past one of them to finish a decent 4th, but I had to watch the replay to figure out what happened. Basically, all 4 cars that passed me stayed on slicks throughout the whole race, and these were the only ones that managed to navigate the rain without crashing.

To rub salt into the wound, the AI car that won was another Toyota 86 :ouch: I'm not sure that my strategy could have been much better however, and I am a bit surprised at how easy it was for these AI cars to stay on slicks during a whole lap of IM weather, not to mention that they only needed one top up of fuel.

That said, it was a good race, and I still got over 300k for coming 4th, which was a decent pay out for a fun race.
 
Finally had time to turn GT7 on again, and I have VR too as well now.
No issues, and much, much faster in VR than flat screen.😎
Banked ovals were weird for half a lap then fine.

Feels a lot like driving in NODs, except in full colour!
 
I hopped on and drove the Renault Clio V6 '00 for the 1st time in the game... Man, I just cried.

Why? My first car was a '04 Clio. And everything was there, just as it should be. Every freakin' detail of the interior of the car was there. So many great memories with my family, friends and school came back to my mind.

The rest is irrelevant. It's just a game.
 
1. Unable to drive a complete lap on the Ring.... On the 1st attempt, I crashed the RSR at Galgenkopf (the curve just before the long straight) while I was -3 secs on my PB and on the last attempt, I crashed the RSR just after the Carraciola-Karusell while I was -5 secs on my PB.... :ouch::ouch::ouch:

2. Collected some Cr. on Le Mans (twice)

3. Bought the Jaguar D-Type 🤩 ("Add to cart" is always a solution)

4. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Cr. 10.000 .... :boggled: (no comments guys, I'm not in a good mood :lol:)

1 timid lap of the ring with the Huracan, no big mistake but so slow... 9min01

tried to do another lap, but touched a barrier in the turn before the karussel, no point pursuing with 1.5s penalty plus the spot where it is applied

no more will to play more

4* spout 10k, thanks PD... I don't even know why I keep coming back to this game

I won a number of the events that I hadn’t placed 1st yet including all but the 30 minute Gr. 1 races in the F-1500T which was very fun. Then I bought the 2 ‘95 F1 GTR’s that I had been waiting for. Then I tuned the Aston Martin One-77 that I bought the other day and it is a joy to drive at the LM 700pp event. I tried the Vulcan at 800pp Sardegna but the high fuel consumption meant I had to short shift too much to make the race enjoyable, so I’ll probably try it at 700pp instead later. Did a round of Spa in the ‘08 GT-R GT500, and a few rounds of Sardegna including one in the ‘98 Supra GT500. I got a 4-star ticket worth 10k and ended the night with 8 million credits and over 700 miles driven.
 
On the Plus account, the weather was frustrating as I took the Toyota Supra Race Car to Sarthe. It rained early enough and hard enough that everybody came down on lap 2, though the 2 that usually do come down then (McEwen and Blazsan) didn't take rain tires, while I took full-wets. The 3rd lap justified that, as I gained 4 seconds on Portilla, but he gained a second on lap 4 as the rain stopped. We both came down for our final stop at the end of lap 4, and Portilla just gave up. As for the car, it's nothing special; the usual mostly-neutral steering, 3 1/3rd-3 1/2 laps on fuel, and no need to change tires for wear. The fast lap was only a 4:22.3, but the edges of the track were still wet on lap 7.

Darkness my old fiend returned in the form of the 44th 3-star workout ticket out of 122 this year (and the 4th of 13 this month). Surprisingly, it didn't give a booby prize, and instead gave the 2013 Nissan GT-R GT3. That got flipped for 131,380 Cr. as I already have the one example I need.

On the GTP account, I again used the engine-swapped/tuned 1973 BMW 3.0 CSL at Sarthe, and rain once again prevented me from doing an 8-lap run. The 4-star marathon roulette was almost too kind - the low-showing cash prize I got was the 2nd-highest-possible 500,000 Cr.
 
Today after last nights shopping spree I wasted no time in hitting the track hard for a full day of hardcore grinding to get back some of my credits and I ended up grinding Tokyo 26 times all with CRB with over 1370+ miles and ending the day with 21.5M credits.

@Eggstor would you happen to know for how long the F1 GTR 95 will be available for? Last time it was available for 13 days do you think its the same now.

Gonna try to get back to 100M before it disappears to buy the finale 8 to complete my grid.

It's more likely than not, though the length of availability for some of Hagerty's cars (not counting the Dior Mangusta) has varied up to 5 days over a specific car's 2 most-recent appearances. In comparison, most of the UCD cars have had the same length of availability for their last several appearances, with only a handful of 1-day variances.

Ironically, that 5-day variance was the 1995 F1 GTR - its 2 latest appearances were 11 days in February and 6 in November (including its same-day price increase as it showed up hours before the November price update). Its 3 appearances before that (going backwards in time) lasted 11, 11 and 12 days.

I’ve spent today (and last 4-5 before it) grinding Tokyo.
I managed to clear out the LD (except for the two 12mil+ newest additions)
and the used dealership.

I’ve also had some luck with roulette recently, high payouts and a Ferrari invite.

I’m gonna go back to the wheel and VR this weekend, hurt my neck at work so I’m using the downtime to grind with a controller.
 
1. Tried some runs on the Green Hell with various cars. I feel more comfortable with MR on the Ring. But wasn't able to improve my PB. Maybe tomorrow?

2. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ : Toyota GR86 RZ '91 :boggled: For sure, this car will make me billionaire in no time ^^

3. Visited some friends on Le Mans and Sardegna for credits reasons.
 
I tried to better my 4th place at Le Mans (700PP) using the Toyota 86 Gr.4 (stock) and was pretty disappointed with the result.

It looked like staying dry (for once) but I was being outpaced by the AI - I had to pit at end Lap 4 for fuel, but then it started to rain on Lap 5, however it was less intense and shorter than the rain in the previous race that the AI dealt with easily on slicks, so I stayed out hoping that the AI would pit for the IM tyres lose time to me on the last two laps.

It didn't quite work out that way... even on a mildly damp track, the car became nigh on undrivable for me, and I spun it twice at the end of Lap 5, wrecking any chance of a decent result. I know a bad workman blames his tools, but I felt that the wheel was a bit of a problem in these conditions; I swapped to the controller for the remainder of the race and I finished 11th, but I seem to struggle with the wheel in damp conditions - and, I appear to be quite noticably worse with the wheel with slower cars.

It's a pity, because I'm torn between wanting to create a close, challenging race, and wanting to maximise my winnings, as accruing Cr. can be painfully slow if one decides to play the game 'properly' i.e. not using an overpowered car to guarantee victory every time.

In terms of creating a close race, I can/have won the Le Mans 700PP in a stock Gr.4 once, but I reckon it was mainly down to luck i.e. when the rain came on. I don't think I can win a dry race in a stock Gr.4 car (not on Hard difficulty anyway), and it would be interesting to hear what others use for a close but still winnable race...

I haven't quite found that on normal difficulty - the weather is too unpredictable, and unless conditions are perfect and "McEwen" remembers he can do 3 laps on fuel in the Corvette (something that happens even less often than 7 dry laps nowadays), anything that can do 4:21 laps and not 4 laps on fuel (I haven't made it to the 4-laps-on-fuel cars) is too powerful. I'd say that in your case, among the stock Gr.4s, the Viper, Huracan, Citroen GT, Corvette, NSX and Cayman should work.
 
Tried Sardegna with the Huracan. Next time I'll try with RS tyres, finished 4th en RH, some mistakes mainly due to not knowing my breaking points with that car (not as efficient as the Audi RS5) and not having a FM strategy. Not sure if possible to do one pit stop only even on FM6. Have to try tomorrow maybe.

Got a 3* who delivered the usual enormous amount of 5k... thanks PD always rewarding.
 
So far, prepped 3 cars for a DHR season.

Ran laps with my DHR cars to get a base tune and narrow it down to two cars. At 315hp and 2251 lbs I expect and lot of JDMs. So, I had to go old school American with a G.T. 350, Z28 and, convertible Corvette. Most likely will be the 350 and Z28.

On the GTP account, I ground Sardegna with the 2008 Honda NSX GT500. The insulting 3-star Wheel of Despair insulted as usual, spewing the lowest-possible 5,000 Cr.

I then bought yet another Tundra for this week's WRS time trial and blasted 20 laps around BB Raceway reverse.

On the Plus account, it was another disappointing day at Sardegna, this time with the Sprint Model of the BMW M6 GT3. I was faster, posting a 26:46 time (fastest lap 1:41.5) with 1 tire stop, but Fraga was again a super-rabbit, finishing 1.5 seconds ahead in 26:44, slowed only by traffic on laps 14 and 15. I don't think the Sprint Model can do a no-tire run.

The disappointment continued with the 4-star Wheel of Despair giving the low-showing 30,000 Cr.

Not really GT7 but it helps me better appreciate it.
Just out of curiosity, I revisited GT5 today. With the help of Drive Hub, I could use DD Pro to play it, the hub disguises the base as a G27. It's so much worse than I remembered, the FFB is so dull that there was no detail even when cornering, only a constant spring effect, which makes feeling the grip very challenging. Oversteer happens without any sign, and the wheel won't feel any lighter until the car has completely spun. Obtaining license test gold medals is significantly harder than in GT Sport and GT7, I had to rely on trial and error. Only dirt roads and some curbs create spikes in the FFB signal. There of course are games out there with better FFB like ACC, but the GT series has come a long way for sure.
Another thing I noticed was the ABS in GT5 was so aggressive that it was almost impossible to gold the International C braking test with ABS on, I had to turn ABS from 1 to OFF and try to do threshold braking to achieve the gold medal time. In GT7 I don't think I ever needed to do that, ABS on low feels good enough.

I've heard that Tokyo City Council have decided to redo their roads and streets because they are too worn because of the "billionaire"... This could explain the "Only 10 Tokyo" :sly:
