What did you do in GT7 today?

I tried the Le Man PP700 30min race (one of my go-to grind races), but this time in a stock Gr.4 car - the SLS AMG.

I did, however, equip it with M tyres, so I had H,M, IM and W to choose from.

I won despite an accident on Lap 2 that put be back down to 19th - but ironically, it meant I pitted later than the rest of the field and was able to change into W tyres just as it started to rain heavily - only Gallo had gone onto W too.

On Lap 3, I went from 18th place to 1st in just 140 seconds, with Gallo following me through the carnage - and he caught and passed me easily on the back straight, before eeking out a lead of around 7s.

We both pitted at the end of Lap 5, and I went back onto slicks. I thought Gallo had too, but he stayed on W, and I was about to pass him coming into the start of the final lap when he pitted again, this time to go onto S tyres. When he emerged from the pit, I was 31s up, and he was unable to make a dent in the lead.

Had Gallo put on S tyres when I put on Ms, he would have won by some distance. For some reason, he stayed on W at the end of Lap 5, even though it was clearly dry enough for slicks, and with no rain on the radar. Still, I'm not complaining as I got the win, despite the accident on Lap 2 that cost me about 15s.

I also improved by time at the Nordschleife Gr3 Sport Race, but only as far as 8.41.xxx (with the controller)... will try again tonight with the wheel, but I seriously doubt I'll be troubling the silverware.

1. Improved my score on Nurb' at 8:42:777 - Still bronze but my objective is to get closer from silver. Just need to be 15 secs faster...
What car are you using? Im probably bronze now myself, but I need to adjust some gearing and maybe soften my 911 RSR up a little to find some more pace. I'm about the same distance from Gold.

Just curious to know what car are you driving, pls :)

Today after 13K miles I finally did a engine overhaul on my beloved P1 GTR.

It now has 2HP less at 984 wonderful.:(

Wasn't and like this

I said nine but am sure you have more than 15 of them , just didn't mention it in order to not cause cycological problems to the other members 🤣

I have 20 P1 GTRs would have more but since the grid limit is 20.

But still this one is special cause it was the first one I bought.:)

Your gifs got me watching those movies again.

Oh great, thanks for your answer. I've planned to try it to because this RSR is an excellent car and very versatile, which is a perfect combo on the Nurb'.
I did a lap with the wheel just now and I'm now down to 8.39.693 - 2.1s faster than with the controller.

I'm something of a novice with the wheel, but I know for a fact that I'm very unlikely to go much faster with the controller - the fact that I'm already quicker with the wheel, however, is quite surprising to me.

I really need to study braking points etc. but I'm also struggling to deal with the car on anything less than TCS 2 - I am, however, practicing with TCS 1 on slow corners, and putting it down to 0 on the fly for less tricky parts of the circuit, but even that can distract me to the point of probably being quicker just leaving the damn thing alone

Pretty successful day.

Completed a few sectors in the Nordschleife CE with gold to practice for the Time Trial.

Beat my previous time of the TT by about 11.5 seconds. Now sitting at 8:37.120 ... a solid bronze at the moment.

Lastly, I finally got a gold score in the Viper drift mission. On the wheel, no less.

Very instructive, thanks for sharing your experience.
Believe me or not, I never had the idea to change the TCS level while driving (but I do it for petrol^^) especially on the "Green Hell" where we need to be 100% focus on every corner. But yes, I prefer having an average setting on this and stay focus on the track than shifting with the controller.

Congrats for the gold!
Maybe it's just me but I still don't get the point to drift...

Today was fun day of just trialling and small races.

Was just practiicng some CE on Tokyo expressway, tried to do the counter clockwise circuit with the Supra Racing concept, almost got it to the laptime solid.

Then moved over to do the GR3 cup race on SUZUKA, as it was not finished and had not placed gold in it just yet. Firstly did it with the Suburu GT500 car but couldnt get a good pace, and bad AI sheningans, so busted out the HURACAN GT3 with low pp as much as I could. Won it quite well and overall a good clean race.

Got a 4 star roulette ticket and lo and behold, I won an engine which I thought was fairly rare.
It happened to be the HUAYRA AMG engine and wasnt sure what car it would be well suited in. Found it was compatible with the two SUPRA RZ's, stuck in the old gen one and it was crazy, stock mapped it was 730bhp and was pretty nippy around Tsukuba.

Then boosted it tuned it up to over 1,003bhp and did some trial runs at Special Stage Rotue X and one custom race with my Chiron, Murcie and Aventador and NISMO at high speeds, was very fun!

Such an MB epic engine and great car sounds!

Took my new laferrari out for a spin, realised it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be, and then got the 911 gt3 rs out to cheer me back up. Wheel of doom gave me invite to buy a veyron, which the wheel of doom happened to give me just last week.🙄

On the GTP account, I made a bit of a hash of a 2008 Honda NSX GT500 run at Sardegna by losing count of the laps and pitting on lap 7 instead of lap 8. Still, I lapped the field because Fraga and Portilla both were slow. Good news/bad news on the Wheel of Despair - it wasn't a 3-star, but the 4-star gave a carbon brake kit for the 2013 Dodge Viper.

On the Plus account, Fraga was a super-rabbit, which gave him an 8.6-second win over me despite a 1-tire-change 26:50 (fast lap 1:41.5) run in the BMW M6 GT3 Endurance. The only thing "endurance" about it is the tires - they might last 15 laps, which still wouldn't have helped me beat a super-rabbit Fraga.

The 4-star Wheel of Despair gave an engine, but not a good one - a second Porsche 964 engine.

Drove the 996 911 GT3 around Grand Valley, tuned my 991 911 GT3RS before taking it to Watkins Glen, drove my tuned Sileighty around Goodwood and the Huracan Group 4 around Monza.

MNRL and, it was fun. Even if I finished last the entire time. Winning is not the point. Have fun is.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled grind.

Got a Z28 too. Now I have two. One will be a Trans Am race car.

And now there is a F1 in there 🤦‍♀️

A fun win at Goodwood.

And goes around Nurburgring well. Even in the rain.

I'm very happy with it.

*There I am sitting reading GTPLANET with GT7 running it's screen saver videos in the background. When I hear a crash. I look up to see Kaz's GT3 car in the wall and backwards at the end of Nurburgring's long straight. 🤔🤭🤫
"Don't tell the boss we crashed his car!"

Today I raced the Willlow Springs Gr. B Race. With shifter and PSVR2 it was absolutely amazing,

BUT does anyone know why the Audio Quattro does not have a clutch? Mistake by PD? Car is from 1987…

I still pressed it every time I changed the gear but no neutral gear in between shifting. Useless

Because it's the Pikes Peak car, which has a sequential manual.

I bought a couple of 997 GT3s from UCD and started the conversion of one of them to a trackday toy. I did a couple of laps of the Ring to break it in and baseline it.

Reduced the difficulty to normal and finished the Fuji race on the Super Formula menu book in 1st place, got blessed by the rain gods and the usual AI stupidity in racing on wet weather without changing the tires until its too late.

Now I'm off to grinding the Daytona tri-oval once again, before I started this grind my Swapped VW bus had like 80km driven only...Now it's pushing 8000km 🤣
