What did you do in GT7 today?

Le Mans 30 minutes. it started raining at the end of lap 2 but wasn't in any way heavy enough to need tyres. It then rained again on lap 5 but this time it was very heavy yellow rain. That lasted until I took the chequered flag after 7 laps. Got the lowest award 30,000 credits from a three star ticket.

On the Plus account, after a day away, I hit Sarthe with the older Nissan GT-R GT3. I could easily have done a 6-lap romp in the soaking-wet conditions (Haywood finished lap 6 at the 32:27 mark), but instead I physically lapped the bottom 11 cars. For my troubles, I got a not-worthless Aston Martin invite off the 4-star Wheel of Despair, as it allowed me to get a third One-77 for tuning purposes, which I widened.

On the GTP account, I took my 1,000,000 Cr. from the HSR time trial, then rented the 2016 Honda NSX for a few laps around Suzuka. I eventually got a marginal silver time of 1:53.308. For some more credits and a 4-star marathon ticket dispensing a Mazda Atenza Gr.3 Road Car, I took my tuned Honda NSX Gr.B to Sarthe for a mostly-dry yet sloppy race. As I already had the 2 I wanted, I sold that Atenza Road Car for 115,360 Cr. and bought the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP and the SF23 Toyota.

I was thinking of getting the McLaren but I need it to be useful at 12.5 mil. Hopefully it an be used at Sardegna
It can be used very well stock. It requires the tiniest bit of fuel saving to make it 5 laps, and it requires one tire change, but it will do sub-1:41 laps. It has just a bit less grip than the modern Gr.3's, but it has better acceleration and top speed.

Another matter came up yesterday.

Can someone tell me what's the difference from a manual gearbox and the fully customisable one ?
I know that manual gearbox drops significant the pp so you can add more power or less weight etc.

Just asking ( but ill test them also as soon i can ) because yesterday i run both my nissan gt500 and the lexus gt500 and as i remember was almost identical in lap times at la sarthe.
Yesterday i use the " Manual " gearbox at Lexus and was way slower at lap times ,even if he had more power than the nissan .🤐
Something happening here but am willing to find out .

Other than that just need 6 races to return to my usual bank account.....

Daniel , don't be jealous am on " recearch" mod these days 😂

Won the Autopolis kei car race with a Beat. I started buying parts for it, first an engine swap, and as I bought parts the PP readout went crazy. I was pushing 400HP. Last thing to do on that track is the CE, and in my hands that group 2 Nissan is rubbish. I'm sure it's a good car, it just requires all the driving characteristics I don't have except being collected by a gravel pit.
@kjb: The McLaren F1 is always a good choice. I ran the mess out of it in SCUD Race back in the day.

The game notes say that the racing version is a sequential transmission, presumably with faster gear shifts. The best way to prove that, at least without a shifter in your rig (which I don't have, so my clutch pedal is useless), is to put both on an older car with a row-your-own transmission as stock.

Without knowing the gear ratios, I couldn't explain why the Lexus (side question - is it the 2008 or 2016?) would be "way slower" with the standard full-custom transmission.

Since PD had the kindness to give me 4 invites since the beggining of this update ( but doesnt give me the one I desperatly want), I decided to buy a 2nd unit of fxx-k, laferrari, enzo, gt by citroen, carrera gt and veyron.
The real reason for it:
Backup in case PD ever gets the funny idea of engine swapping cars behind tickets.

It was the 2016 but i really don't know what happened .
I had to race those cars long time ago , perhaps 2-3 times right after 1.31 update which tyres changed.

Ill do some testing with the same car to understand what are the differences among those two gearboxes .
There must be a "reason " lowering the pp when you use manual one instead of racing fully customizable.
Although and with the manual one you can set transmission as you pleased.
Ill be back soon on that .

No worry my friend, we all know that science deserves all your dedication ;)

Went twice at Le Mans today.
  • 1st race: only a bit cloudy from the middle of the 3rd lap until the middle of the 4th. Not a single drop of water on the track.
  • 2nd race: light rain from the 3rd to the 4th but no need to change tyres. Almost sunny to the end.
Still need to gain Cr. 2.500.000 to buy the Mc Laren F1 GTR. I really hope none of the others expensives cars will show up in the next days, because after buying the F1 GTR, I'll be broke... :guilty:
C'est la vie!

Happy week-end my dear @smoothbore12 and to everyone on this friendly forum!

Thanks to @Eggstor I decided to get the McLaren. I found 2 liveries that I liked. I tried to change the number on one of them but it looked very poor so I kept the default number. I made 2 tunes one at 700 pp and one at 800 pp. I ran the F1GTR at Sardegna and at first I was doing FM6 but I was only getting about 7 laps so I changed it to FM3 where I got about 6 laps but it seemed to be more responsive. I didn't finish the race because I remembered that I had to get up early this morning to go out of town. Got a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🎫 and got 500k cr

Ok i found it .
Since you, lazy, son of the ...beaches didn't bother .

I took one car that i usef lately, 908 fap.
Raze the aero in front to make my turning life easier and run one lap at lemans with Manual box.
Second run with full racing and was faster without a single doubt.

I said what the faq ( from friendly asked questions etc.) and then i went at the tune sheet .
Gears are TOTALLY identical in every aspect but ..... there is a but .

Manual gearbox same hp and everything.

Full racing one
IMG_20230819_182235483_HDR.jpg

If you lock closer to acceleration tab you'll notice the differences,👀

Even with 20hp more with the manual one ,is still slower that the racing box !!!!
IMG_20230819_182627221_HDR.jpg

The mystery " busted " .
@Eggstor i find the answer .
Just use another ( new ) car cause didn't wanna mess with my turning sheets .

The fully customizable manual transmission your avatar has to let off the gas for a very short time when shifting in order to clutch and move the shifter while the racing transmission doesn’t require lifting off the throttle and it shifts quicker on top of that. You’ll notice a car’s speed drop a few mph/kmh when you shift with the manual transmission but that doesn’t happen with the racing transmission, your speed doesn’t drop when you shift/

On the Plus account, I ground the Renault R.S.01 at Sardegna for a Mazda Atenza off an all-cheap road car 4-star Wheel of Despair. I hung onto it for tuning purposes as I only had 1.

On the GTP account, I ground Fraga into submission at Sardegna with the Subaru BRZ GT300 for my third 3-star Wheel of Despair (of 16) on this account this month (and 8th of 32 between the two accounts) for the low-showing 10,000 Cr. I forgot the Mazda RX-VISION was a concept car rather than a VGT, so I picked it up.

Perhaps you're pissed off with that and you have to be less " aggressive.
After corkscrew the most difficult turn is the very last one because you can gain or loose too much time there .
Cool it down and it will come , don't try to " eat " your ghost if you're using it and try a bit earlier brakes .
I was calm as a cucumber most of the time to be honest, the problem was panic knowing that I was on time to get it. I even tried taping over the timer so I couldn't see how I was doing!

Result today though. Smashed my time by over 4/10ths and got the gold. Only took 8 days at an hour or two a day.

You have right mate .
I have notice that drop of speed when changing geras in some cars but didn't know that was due the manual transmission.
I use controller and AT gears mostly so am not familiar with what happens on a wheel set up .

Anyway yesterday i found the differences in the tuning sheets at the acceleration measurements which shows that manual lacks in acceleration over the racing gearbox .
And of course that leave his " foot print " at the race as you mention above.
Thanks mate for your explanation on that.

Other than that , since am impressed from the Peujot 908 Fap , I race with it at La Sarthe at the Hard level using intermediates FM6 and a non stop ride.
The car run at 4.15s which is enough to secure first place , rain falls after one third of 3rd lap and that lead to an easy win over 2.30 minutes from second.
The good thing in hard mode that you van use draft in many cases till 3rd lap , the bad is that you can't skip 7th lap even if it rains .
Also the sound of that car is like come out from cooking pots 😄 , has a very " metallic" tone.

Last day of vacations today🤐 and am going for ......... fishing.
Have a good Sunday my friends.

Not very much. Wasn’t feeling too strongly about playing the game today -- even with a completely unused HiMedic in my garage. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe next week. There’s no real reason to use it other than some RP purposes, but a car can’t die on the road (except the Zonda that crashed recently).
  1. Tried to win the Gr.1 Prototype race @ Daytona in the R18 (2016) without fuel saving. Made a tune that probably needs a major overhaul. Failed miserably.
  2. Did the Super Formula race at Watkins Glen for some fun. Its easy cash and I enjoy driving the car. Understeer is also way more apparent in roof cam for some reason.
  3. Spent a few hours trying to improve a laptime in the ITALDESIGN Exeneo VGT @ Sardegna - Windmills Reverse. So far I am at a 1:12.020.The hotlap is what I call a "Torture Lap": any clean hotlap in a session with an extremely low lap completion rate. Only a few have earned that title:

    Sub-5 Minute Nordschliefe - Peugeot 908 Build
Tokyo Expressway Central Counterclockwise - 6th Gear Only KTM X-BOW "Kart"
    Alsace Village - Pre-1.31 Radical SR3

Now there are two more entries, and they are both the ITALDESIGN at the same track. One from last week and one from today.

Sardegna - Windmills Reverse__1.jpeg

Lots of retries at different points of the lap: wall taps, bad bounces, loss of forward momentum, too much rotation, too little rotation, etc. This car hates everything. It has no issue giving yanking the wheel out your hand for breathing on it too hard or playing Line Rider with the track surface.

10/10 would suffer again. Also, what font size is the default again?

Even though others have given the best answers, I will give the answer I know best...
Manual customizable is a standard heavy duty gearbox that will have the standard "H" pattern shift in which is slower to shift through the gears.
Racing Customizable gearbox is a sequential gearbox and it's faster to shift up and down through the gears.
The racing gearbox will make your car faster in the lap times because you spend less time shifting gears and the "clutch lag" is considerably less.

Now for what I did today...
I ran my Shelby Daytona Coupe at the WTC700 at LeMans, had evidence of clouds on weather radar but absolutely no rain for the 7 laps I ran. All laps at FM6, started with RM tyres and pitted on the ends of 3 & 6 and finished up on RS tyres.

Wow mate , you drive the wheels of that thing .
Great drive , the " Finland " inside you is alive and kicking.

Thanks for the" info " @jrbabbitt .

I ran 2 races to in WTC 700 at 30 minutes in Le Mans with my beloved Alpine A220 race car (what a capable machine!!!!) to get the Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder '54. After that i completed the Maserati collection and i got 500k in reward!!!!
Run 2 custom races with Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder '54. WHAT NICE RACES!!!!
PLEASE PD and Kaz give us more classic cars races!!!!!

I didn't do a great deal this weekend, but I turned on GT7 tonight to find that I only needed to Maserati in the LCD to complete the Menu book and get a 6* ticket, and the Honda S660 to complete the Kei Car menu book and get a 4* ticket...

I bought the Honda and got a Pagani invite - pretty much the only invite that I actually wanted - so I was pleased with that.

I was, however, 0.5M Cr short for buying the Maserati, but on account of being tired and bit dizzy this evening, I resorted to selling a couple of surplus cars (my spare Diablo and something else) to give me the Cr. needed - and the 6* ticket gave me 0.5M Cr.

So, I now have the Maserati Spyder '54, the Honda S660 and an invite to buy the Huayra, and all without driving a mile.

-

edit: Did the Daily Marathon by trying the Mount Panorama TT in the MC20, and got a comfortable Bronze and a 3* ticket for my trouble - which paid out a BMW M6 Sprint Model worth 450,000 Cr. - not bad for 3*! Couple that with the 250,000 Cr. for the Bronze in a few days time, and that's a pretty nice 700,000 Cr. worth for doing just over 26 miles!
