What did you do in GT7 today?

Attempted to grind out some X2019 Jrn at Le Mans.

Attempt 1 - got spun out by the Lambo on the straight. Sure that I'd lose the clean race bonus due to this, I restarted.

Attempt 2 - I got spun out by the Supra on lap 2. For unknown reasons the Supra decided to turn into me approaching a corner. Restart.

Attempt 3 - The most comical. I finally saw purple rain. Lap 3 started and so the rain started. I had the fuel mix up, don't know why as I was on mix 6 which lasts the entire race. Rain starts up, same as usual, nothing to be concerned about. Come onto the back half of the track and realize I'm losing traction. Check traction and its rapidly creeping up. Check weather radar and it's dark blue... Dark blue?! It normally only goes light blue and turquoise... Never dark blue. Car is hell to drive. I over-shoot a corner. Traction is bad. Limp the car back onto track as the 2nd place Supra whips by... 2nd place just passed me!?! Try to get the car going and I cannot get traction. Check the radar and it's purple! That's the 4th or 5th heaviest rain! After 4-5 minutes of just sliding the car around while doing a mighty 15kmph, the gap to the leader is now 40+ seconds. Everyone behind me is also sliding around, but the 2 cars infront are sprinting away with it.

Quit. Get the daily workout. 4-star ticket. It's not a roulette or carousel. Take what I get. 10,000 credits.

Shut the game down. Got chores to do.

Daily workout got me another 3-star ticket and the wheel of misfortune gave me another 5K. I must be doing something wrong.
Took my first drive of the Ferrari 330 P4. Love that car. Sounds so awsome. Seems a bit more edgy than in GTS but then so are most others.
Did a couple of attempts at the Sardegna race with the 911. Couldn't quite get to first place so detuned the 787B and that did the trick. Love that car.
Went to the Redbull ring. Win or lose always an entertaining race. I do okay until the rain comes. I just seem to be too nervous of wet driving in GT7 which is annoying as I always excelled in the wet in previous GTs. Another challenge to overcome.
Update tomorrow which is fine by me as I need to take my bike for a shakedown before my trip to the seaside next weekend.

Won the Tokyo 12 lap race at my 6th or 7th go. Finally found the perfect car for me, the R34 with Priano tunes. The set up I used is quite extreme, tonnes of ballast, loads of grunt and no downforce.

Seeing an R34 in the 2nd hand dealer, I decided to buy one to “leave“ parked up in Tokyo trim so it is ready for whenever I have 30 mins free. It looked great in the advert but when I picked it up I was not impressed! Going to need some work.

Took it to Ishiskawa for some love and while I was there gave it a fancy carbon bonnet, new wing and some nice new wheels and put in the obligatory roll cage. Still in primer waiting to get painted.

I chose a subtle colour for my Tokyo car, and once it was dry I spent some time at Midori Seibi, buying the power enhancements I need and the suspension / diff / gearbox for the tune. I also took my yellow R34 there to reset it to Interlagos / Brands and Spa / Suzuka settings where I typically run higher downforce and less weight.

A quick blast for both of them on the Expressway before the yellow one ships out.

Didn't have a lot of time but did a couple Dailys. Really wanted to get a win in the McLaren, Viper, and Porsche. Well, on the 7th day I got wins in the McLaren and Viper. Ran out of time to give the Porsche another go, but I am happy with that. Posted about them both in the Daily Race thread.

Cliff's Notes:

Really close race. Great racing by these two as well.

Was in P2 by 2.5 seconds but on lap 11, the leader spun. Guy behind me was close but had a moment or something; went into the last lap in P1 a good 5 seconds up.

Camera wobble 2 with headphones with a nice sounding car is what I would call next gen.

Highly recommend to do a Tokyo street track with those at night. Simply amazing.
Yeah, man. The first couple of times I tried wobble 2 it felt a bit off-putting but I gave it a few more chances tonight and it really clicked with me this time. I’m definitely quicker in chase cam which is my personal go-to and main camera view but for immersion’s sake cockpit wobble 2 feels so good. Great addition to the game.

Yesterday did Lac de Sainte Croix C.E.

Why don't we have the same hour of day than demo ? Would be much more convenient than that damn dusk with either the sun in your eyes or the track is in the shadow so you don't see where you are going ?

Golded sector 1 but that's all. Other are lightyears away. Bronzed the full lap, and parsecs away from gold too.

After 56km, received a "nice" 3 star ticket that landed me an enormous 5k Cr. What an incentive to play tomorrow !

Bought the Pennzoil GTR and the R92CP.

Completed the Viper drift mission in Gone With The Wind to fully gold those and am now working on The Sun Also Rises missions.

Squeezed in a quick Le Sarthe 700 for 825K and continued to ogle at my EK9 in Scapes.

God, I love this game.

Hi, I'm Sunzi BTW :D

Bought both new BRZs today and completed the three new Spa races. Used a detuned McLaren F1 GTR Longtail for the one-hour WTC800 race and wiped the floor with the field. Had to back out the first time, however, since I forgot that it will rain at Spa. Went in for the second attempt with wets and inters on hand and beat it.

Yesterday, as usual. :P

Did the Tomahawk Tokyo Chop to bring me to just over 52.5 million Cr. Then grew tired of the Tomahawk and tried some tranny tuning magic on the Red Bull Jr, and grew frustrated with the PP glitch that shot the value up a ridiculous 69 points! Could only manage to squeeze out another 4hp to 221, and in Tokyo Wet was perpetually in last place. Gave up in a fit and tried the RE Amemiya RX-7 again, and after a dreadful time with it on sports mediums, turned on the assists save countersteer but lost two places to 6th. Assists made me faster despite the result, go figure. Tokyo is a curse to me. Quit in disgust at 1:30am and went shopping to soothe my weary soul. Didn't buy the Pennzoil Skyline yet or any invites, but did buy
  • 2x BMW Z8 '01
  • 3x 911 Carrera RS CS '95
Today, more Tomahawk Chop after futzing with tuning to get it to 599PP, but hopefully some fun too. This Performance Points rework is awful...

Jumped on after a three day out of town wedding attendance (too bad no GT7 on my Switch lol) and lo and behold. Ran to the Subaru dealer and scored the two new BRZs. Both will now be my go-to cars as much as humanly possible. Did a mild sport tune on the stock one and will buy another to do the full beast mode on. Then dropped by the used dealership and went nuts filling my shopping cart. After that I started entering every race that the mild tuned BRZ was allowed to enter. What a joy to drive. The car breaks free with the perfect amount of predictability. I'll drive this thing until it's ready for the scrap yard.

I fixed my Tomahawk setups so they work again at Tokyo. 4 new cars coming up in the LCD at 8pm! Basically add and/or move the ballast around a bit to get it to go below 600pp again. No idea why +/- 1 kg of ballast or moving it one tick forward or back changes PP from 1200 to 600, but whatever.

Then I did one Tokyo race to confirm the grind still works, got a 1 star ticket and then went out to chop down a tree. It was dead with potential to fall into the pool. Those 3333 pound tow straps with ratchet also work great for rigging trees to fall the right way :)

I'll give Spa 1h a go tonight. Kinda pointless right now since I have the odd problem to be at the credit limit lol. I did not expect it to take so long for the LCD to update again. Yet now it's 4 tonight and another 3 new ones tomorrow. Just the Suzuki Capuchino new in the UCD tonight and 3 new ones tomorrow (or repeats)

Went back to C.E Nurburgring... butchered lap after lap and gave up at fifth try.

Went to Le Mans next as I haven't done any C.E there. First looooong sector (where is that damn gate?) managed to bronze it without trying too hard. Got gold without thinking twice in S2 and S3, got Silver on S4 very close to gold but impossible to get closer after 5 or 6 tries, always ending in the same times.

Went to S5 and was "8 SECONDS BELOW GOLD!!!", ok that won't be easy... gave it a few more tries and managed to get 3s below gold and that was more than plenty enough frustration for tonight.

Received an extraordinary 4 star ticket... ended up with 10k... great...

Did my daily miles, got a 3 star ticket and won a Nissan GT-R Nismo. I was in a good mood after so i bought the Pennzoil GT-R from the Legendary Dealer.

Not many time today so that's all.

Were they wearing slicks and going 100+?

On my drive home I came up on a McLaren at a red light. Confident in my skills from playing GT7 so much I looked over and gave him The Nod and revved the engine a little. Light turned Green and I floored it. I can now say from experience that a Ford Fusion Special Edition can NOT beat a McLaren GT.

Completed all of today's new content: Smashed the Spa 1hr in a detuned F1 GTR despite the weather being fully against me (changed to RH on a drying track and clear weather radar only for it to be torrential downpour again the next lap so had to pit twice in two laps) and still finished over a minute ahead of second place who pitted pointlessly with a lap to go.

I guess I should be grateful the update was light on content because I also went back and spent a while (possibly a little longer than I'd care to disclose) trying to tame the 917K and finally improve my S-10 bronze all the way to a skin-of-my-teeth gold.

So did my daily workout. Got the same three star ticket and the same 5k as the last two days. I'm seeing a pattern here. Jumped in the 787B and stayrd there all afternoon doing a bunch of PP800 races. Earnt 5mil. Went to the NCD bought a Zonda R and another Carrera GT. Now need another 5mil. :)

Completed the Daytona WTC800 using a detuned '16 NISMO GT500 GT-R (favourite Car in the game)

Also completed The Sun Also Rises version of Le Mans (24 hours condensed into 24minutes) 7 laps, 1 pitstop, Golded. stock R92CP FTW.

Bought the GT300 BRZ and aforementioned Motul NISMO GT500 aswell as the 787B.

Roulette gave me my first engine... should I be disappointed that its the LT1 from the Chevy C7? The one that seemingly swaps into the '15 Miata.
