What did you do in GT7 today?

Was trying cars around Interlagos in the Dailies, just qualifying at the moment.
Tried the usual suspects and couldn't get fast enough, hired a Merc SLS and immediately one second faster......
Quick 'blat' around Tokyo to get credits and bought my own Merc. Now to get quicker in it.
Think it was GT6 where I got a SLS-AMG Black edition for pre-ordering and fell in love...

I normally treat the AI like they're real drivers as well, contact free is the way to go. However it gets harder and harder to respect a bunch of cheats lol. Then the Tokyo grind is a good 'break room' to share my feelings with Kokubun and his cronies

I always start slow as well and never have problem overtaking. It's when the AI gets angsty and wants to overtake, either because they pit before me, already are a lap or more behind and suddenly don't want to drop back further, or when they change their mind after you pass them an they suddenly find the gas pedal again.

Today I did the Autopolis 1H race, another relaxed drive into the sunset. (Seems only Tsukaba and RBR have rain?) I had picked a car before 1.13 came out, had it all set up, 399pp, I enter the race, and now the car is 414pp lol. I do some quick adjustments, HP down to 80. I start the race and the AI behind me barges through, drives off leaving me in the dust. At the end of lap 1 I'm down to 20th watching the race disappear in the distance. FL was 2:25 by the AI, I quit seeing it go nowhere.

I tuned the car differently, close ratio transmission reduces PP while that's all you need, and I went with the stanard brakes to be able to get HP up to 87. Still slower acceleration and top speed as the AI but better able to keep up. I set the difficulty to easy this time, which seemed to help. AI FL was 2:26 this race.

The AI was actually the best it has been so far. I normally don't drive slower cars and maybe it's true they get worse the faster the cars are they need to handle. Most of my experience is PP 800 and higher. Anyway, I had a decent duel with Yamanaka which actually resembled something like racing. I passed him in the corners, he drove by again on the straights with higher top speed. Fine, all contact free, side by side was no issue. I guess the AI was in its spot so didn't need to do crazy stuff.

After a while Yamanaka dropped back and out of range then I closed in on Fraga for a bit of a duel. Fraga did resort to a dive bomb to get ahead again, instead of simply driving by me on the next straight. Anyway I saw it coming, let him through and simply undercut him to take the position again. Fraga then just drove past me with faster acceleration and top speed. No clue why the dive bomb.

Fraga gave up as well after a while, actually they all did. The AI was lapping 2:26 at the start until holding steady at 24 sec ahead of me. One by one the grid started slowing down during the race letting me pass. I was lapping 2:29, 2:28 all race long like clockwork. Managed a high 2:27 once while drafting but generally around 2:29. The AI kept slowing down, letting me get close, then speeding up again going out ahead a bit (Fraga toying with me) and eventually dropping back.

The front maintained a 23/24 sec lead for 2/3rd of the race, then they slowed down. With 6 minutes left, me still going the same pace like clockwork, the AI gave me the lead and dropped a further 12 seconds back before the finish. Yay I guess?

It was a relaxing drive in the sunset, but I can't call it a race. It's either marginally interactive pylons to pass during the race, or ravenous beasts when they're behind their race schedule and need to boost ahead. As for difficulty and GT, I have no idea anymore. It's all over the place.

1.2 mil collected, 10.5 mil spend on the McLaren F1 BMW, wasn't that 450K in GT Sport? Big refresh in the UCD but only one car I didn't have yet. The all bronze car reward for human comedy was also a pre 2000 car, so 15 left to collect. Slow going.
Every AI is a legitimate target except Mikail Hizal. I would rather lose than hit him on purpose 🦋

It was yesterday but.. Spent 1 hour doing a livery only for the livery editor to go black and return me to the main screen as I went offline. :grumpy:

I used to think this always online business wasn't anything to moan about but its pissing me off now as I have lost loads of work on three occasions now.

Finally got back on GT7 after nearly 2 weeks away.
Decided against Sport Mode in favour of a driving experience within my control...
Managed to finish all of Asia's CE, finally putting Tokyo in all it's variations to bed (thank God). Made progress in the Missions, completing the Gone With the Wind section.

I'm glad I still have half of the circuit experiences left to complete, because after that I'm not sure where I go with this game as long as I'm this apathetic about playing it.

Did a number of Daily Bs. After some struggles, finally got a pair of wins: One with the Mustang and one with the Hyundai (which is actually pretty good). Posted about it in the Daily thread.

Got even more frustrated at La Maggiore..... the Gr.3 PP730 race. Have still not managed better than second and am finding it really tough.
The AI feels super-fast here, and aggressive - I don't think I've been collided with as much anywhere else! Any car tips welcome!

Decided not to get the McLaren F1 from the showroom for Cr. 10.5 million - I remember it from GTS as being a bit of a spinner..... I might get the P1 instead, for loads less money. Couldn't race that anywhere in GTS but should be allowed in the WTC800 here....

Did the GTR race at Tokyo to do the daily mileage, using the yellow one that Ordonez drives in it. I must have grabbed it hastily when I originally used it to win this race, because it needs some tweaking, which shall be done asap.

Yesterday - ahem - went shopping at the Used Lot and bought
  • Third Nissan Fairlady Z Z33 '07
  • Second DeLorean '04
  • Second Testarossa '91, probly buy another today
  • Third Tuscan Speed Six '00
  • Second Ford GT '06
Did the Northern Isle Speedway Circuit Experience. Had no patience for such a slippery Corvette after several wallbangers, turned on all assists and golded it first try. Also made top of my friends list leaderboard so I felt kind of bad about that. Oh well...

Tried for a couple of hours to do SergioRZ's NSX at Nurburgring challenge, and could only manage an 8:18:838 - nice rhythm. The car felt great, the sports hard tires felt great, surprisingly, but the car was bad about letting me know I was in trouble before I went sliding off track or banging a rail. Grew frustrated because I could do better, but pushing the poor thing was punishing us both and time was wasting, so I quit.

Tangled with Blofeld on Tokyo for about six runs, made a bit less than five million, then tried again with the Murcielago. It seems that Blofeld had bad memories of his abuse with the Tomahawk, and rammed me into the wall as I pitted on lap 9 - and I entered at near full speed myself! That assinine... After a third place finish, and a seventh thanks to Blofeld, finally got into my groove, plus the bots felt a bit lazy that race. Either that or I was unnaturally good, with "Rose encouraging" me, and finally won with it. That and a late supper ended my festive day.

It's definitely tricky.

I used the new Subaru BRZ GT300 - I adjusted my gear ratios and dropped my top-speed, added a medium Turbo and Power restrictor to get me under 730PP

It was a very, very easy win after failing miserably quite a few times before that.
I used the same configuration at Suzuka and at Spa. It was much easier by comparison.

Sukuzka has a couple of long stretches/straights where the low top speed was a negative, but it was easy to make time up in the corners. Maggiore was the same, I hit the limiter on the straight a lot but shredded the opposition in the corners.

I'm not very good with the tuning - someone could probably make a better tune where the top speed wouldn't top out but still retain good acceleration.

Basically if I could mince it with a busted tune, you will be OK. I prioritised acceleration.

GT7 is helping me though a tough time at the moment, I am severly disabled and generally gaming helps me with my chronic pain.

Over the bank holiday weekend I developed the 2nd serious eye and ear infection in a month on Saturday and needed emergency treatment, unfortunately I have lost the hearing in my left ear on Saturday afternoon which is quite distressing.

Since then GT7 has helped me relax and calm my aniexty especially as I am lacking sleep due to needing one set of drops every six hours and another every 3 hours for a week.

What I have finally done was get the last 4 menu books cracked, the tough was the the GP 700 series which I done in the Red Bull Junior 2014 and the world series in a La Ferrari detuned to just under 800 PP (won the first 4 races so the Nurnberg was a foregone conclusion)

Also ground out Tokyo Expressway East Nissan GT-R for 20+ million creds to buy the 10 cars I had invites for so I have a bonkers collection of super and hyper cars.

Anyways trying to work out Tokyo Expressway East 600 PP and need help with car selection and the same for La Mans with a 700PP car that doesn't drink 2/3 of the fuel per lap (need help with the pits as well)

So stay safe everybody and I'm off to do some more racing.

Hope you're OK mate!

Not sure a car exists that goes beyond 3 laps without refuelling for Le Sarthe but the WRX Group B is an incredibly easy win for 825K. Racing Hards, Fuel Map 1 all race, Pit at Lap 3 for Heavy Wets, then pit again for Inters or Racing Hards again 3 laps later. The race will be done by that stage.

I'm assuming your talking about the Le Sarthe event rather than the Mission event.

60 minutes of Spa, twice.
30 minutes of La Sarthe.
Then went looking at CE in Asia, didn't realise I'd barely touched it. Did the first Tokyo, damn the wall touch is sensitive! Then had a nice easy run at High Speed Ring.
Finished off with WTC800 at Deep Forest and called it a day for now. I'll get the last 3-4 million for the F1 GTR tomorrow. I knew buying all those invite cars yesterday was a mistake lol

That's a solid way of getting your mind focused on something else, i doubt i could handle what you do, kudos to your strength.. <3

That '95 McLaren F1 GTR is very twitchy. But it is a missile for the WTC800 events at Monza and Le Mans in stock form.

I also did some more Tokyo East time trials with more Gr.1 cars, including the TS050, Bugatti VGT Gr.1, and Nissan R92CP. I am not the fastest by any means, but I think 1:42-1:43 is where I am with most Gr.1 cars.

Yes sorry meant the le sarth and thanks to everybody who responded, need to work out fuel maps now :)

Thanks for the tip, I'll try that today! 👍

Ahh i haven't done it yet, but my post will be about 4 times Tokyo and buying a McLaren from the legendary dealer.
My predictions failed.. I only needed 3 runs to get the McLaren..

The 3 star wheel featured a car a cool breaking kit upgrade, gold bar, stack of money and the 5000 credits that I won.

May the designer have an itch he can't scratch until PD fixes the blatant trolling

I did Interlagos CE. EZ

Then I bought ALL of the TVR paints. Use one of their color change paints to start a WIP on the F Type.
Then I joined a Daily B race. Not much time so I qualified 1.34.6 and took the Mustang from 12th to 4th then I took the F Type from 12th to 12th.

I did Monza CE. EZ

Then I went back to Trial Mountain CE... I spent close to an hour getting sectors 1 and 3 from silver to gold and lifting my 1 lap time a few seconds so now I'm only about 1.3 off gold. Ugh. It got to the point where I failed getting thru the first 3 corners 8 times in a row so I quit.

Tomorrow I'm gonna tune the P4 to handle 800pp events. I need to find the original tune though cuz I took it to a 720 and forgot to duoe the stats sheet beforehand

@Sunzi Thanks for the tip, finally won it today by 0.751 seconds..... and it's only a 2 chilli race! First try was taking the leader, RC-F, on the last lap and he bumped me into the sand!

Also put a big dent in the wallet - bought the Huayra and the McLaren P1 GTR today.
The P1 is absolutely awesome!
