Only had time for a quick blast at 1 hour Spa this morning. Used the CLK GTR, got my fastest lap down into the 2:11 area now. Weirdly, had a dry race as well, one tiny shower that did nothing, stayed on RH the entire race.

Did the usual buy out of anything I don't currently own in the UCD. Followed that up with some time trial at Maggiore, need to get to know the track better before I have another go at the human comedy race. I gain time the entire lap on the AI, other than the first 2 and last 3 corners, I will nail it!

Soon i'll have my full field of GR3/GT3 Cars , then comes the fun part tuning them all to 730pp after that it'll WEC Time at various tracks its a shame we dont have silverstone circuit in the game .

But my line up is like this as of now

4 Ford GT 18 in factory colours 66/67/68/69
4 Porsche including the WEC Pig and Rothmans tribute liveries
4 Ferrari Itlia 458
2 Corvette C7
BMW M8 Endurance , need another one though
Also need two Aston Martin GR3
finally 2 Dodge Vipers

A shed load or CR to buy all the tuning needs for each individual car , all 20 will have their own liveries , hopefully will have a good even field for the AXE Murderers Class of 2022 :dopey:

Finally got around to buying a Tomahawk X just to see what all the credit grinding hoopla was about. I do admit, it's a lot less boring then I had expected it to be. Something about dodging traffic at 360 MPH has a way of keeping you awake. That said, I can't see myself really sitting down and spending a whole day abusing this, so it'll just be something for when I really, really want a certain car.

That aside, it's mostly been doing a few tours of WTC 700 with the Alfa 155 I bought with my ill-gotten Tokyo gains, and doing some minor prettying up/spot races with random cars in my garage. I've had enough of getting screwed over by the weather in the 1-hour races for now, I think.

Sunny today, so between gardening and BBQ, I only fitted in one blast round Le Mans.

Took the 991 GT3RS out again - suspension and aero tweaks have totally sorted the handling, but it's a bit slower than it once was and still just as thirsty. Can just about scrape a three-lap stint so did three laps on RH (including one in heavy rain), then three on IM (heavily worn at the end on a drying track). The field was unusually tightly bunched due to the rain. We all pitted together and I managed to overtake a couple before I'd cleared the pit exit (see pic). Slow third lap meant I finished a few seconds over 30mins and didn't need to do a seventh.

This morning, I got golds on the Circuit Experience for Tokyo Expressway - South Counterclockwise, and I ended up racking up just enough miles during my attempts on it to do the daily workout. So I won a two-star ticket, and the prizes were all various amounts of credits, including 500k and 1m. While I didn't win either of those, I didn't win the lowest prize this time, either, so that's decent.

I then proceeded to take my credits from the Circuit Experience and buy the Aston Martin Vulcan, specifically in the Legacy paint. I did this for a few reasons. First off, I want to eventually see if the brakes have been notably improved on this car since its last appearance in GT Sport. Second, I wanted to own a car with the hypercar tag, just in the rare case that, if/when we get the "Hypercar Track Days" event seen in the Fallon build, the event is truly limited to cars with the hypercar tag; all three cars that currently have this tag are invite-only, and the invites I got for all brands (via that one update) expire this next Wednesday. Now, this was more of a coincidence, but the Vulcan was also the most affordable car with the hypercar tag, the other two being the Ferrari FXX K and the Lamborghini Veneno.

I do hope that more cars are added with various tags, and we see a few new tags, too. We've already seen this happen with the first content update. The Suzuki Cappuccino is another car with the kei car tag, and the Subaru BRZ GT300 introduces the GT300 tag. But as for what could come in the next update - cars, tracks, QoL changes, and so on - I don't think PD is predictable at all, which is something I frankly do find charming.

Took my spare Cappuccino and threw every race part at it to get it to just under 100 HP. Then decimated the competition on a bunch of 550PP events. Too much fun with minimal braking. Decided to use the "cheat", put away the wheel and fired up the controller to win all of the dirt events in the game. Makes life WAY easier.

I got bronze on the Deep Forest CE which allowed me to purchase the Tomahawk X. Then I did the Trial Mountain Cup to get enjoy money to buy parts for the X 🤣. I got it set and got it to 520pp somehow. Then I did Tokyo twice. I actually enjoyed it going 350 mph while weaving around blockades is fun. The penalties are kinda of annoying especially when the corner of the car barely touches the wall. On my second race I wanted to see how penalty time I could rack up. After the 2nd race I bought a Super Bee, 09 ZR1 and 69 Z

Grrr.... 4-star ticket prize was an invite for Lamborghini - that I already have :irked:
I found the warranty!

You've had a fun Saturday. ;)

By the way, as a long time prog rock fan, I love old Genesis with Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett. Hackett's solo albums are mostly pretty darn sweet. Tony had a couple too, though I grew lukewarm to Peter's after "Security," with its peel off title. It's sad how Genesis became the Phil Collins band. I'm hoping to hash out a prog album of my own, eventually, have a rough idea for a 30 minute track.

Anyhow, I'll try to predict my day. I'll buy
  • Some cars :D
Bother Blofeld at the Tokyo WTC600 via Tomahawk Chop for five races. Switch to a normal tuner to make Rose happy for two races or so, maybe a Porsche this time if it'll hang with the pack. Might spend some time race tuning some GT5 cars for that league I want to create. Let's see how this goes, because I have to make a store run at some point, out of everything foodie.

Edit: hmm, they changed the forum format slightly.

Today I started on an attempt to re-create a Corvette within GT7. Mrs Possum and I have a C6 Grand Sport Coupe.

GT7 offers us the incredible ZR-1, but no other C6s.

Bowling Green built a total of 212,573 C6 Corvettes, of which only 2.20%, (or 4,684) were the ZR-1 model.

The vast majority of C6s are either base model, or Grand Sport Coupes. Hence my desire to re-create our car.

So far, I've increased the weight to match the GS spec. Also, I've changed the gearing. And reduced the power. Unfortunately, it's not possible to discard the forced induction of the ZR-1, so my virtual "GS" has way more torque than the C6 in our garage. I don't think I can change the torque curve to match that of the Naturally Aspirated LS3 motor, but if you've got suggestions, I'm all ears.

Sadly, there's nothing I can do to cover the ZR-1 badges, or the window in the hood/bonnet.

One bit of good news is that our IRL C6 has order code ZLC (Centennial Edition) which happens to bring with it the ZR-1 spoiler design.

My next steps will be to tweak the power until acceleration times match reality.

Thanks for listening!

Today I decided to make a change. Instead of racing to get my roulette tocket I went licence hunting. The only thing I got stuck on was the final superlicence test. I simply could not get the 917 around Spa. Came close a few time only for it to suddenly throw itself at the barriers on the approach to the bus stop. They do you shouldn't meet your heroes.
Spent the rest of the day testing my 288 GTO around various tracks. At least that put a smile on my face.

I tried the Human Comedy:Maggiore and realized after the first 10 laps I was not competitive or ready for this one. I like the car and the track, like endurance races and wanted to run the Subaru GT300 but found out I just was not feeling both the car or track today. Quit on lap 11. I ran the Alfa 4C road car around Alsace Village in an arcade race and had some fun. Ended the day running my Toyota SF19 around SPA in preparations for the Gazoo Cup race tomorrow.

I've been trying a couple of cars for 5 or 6 laps on Maggiore. Think it's gonna be a toss up between the AMG GTR or the Genesis for me. Might have a try in the BRZ first, Subaru did me well on Deep Forest human comedy just.

Time to mix it up a bit at spa. Tried and tested a few cars there.. Picked the Rothmans Porsche with a weird detune to get below 800.

The tune worked, i was fast but nothing compared to the CLK. Being prepared I naturally made sure I had intermediate tires ready for the light rain I usually get.

The race started rough, I tried to hard and that caused crashes and spins. Instead of restarting I focused and got it right and even did a perfectly timed pitstop for inters..

Except i needed wets that I did not have, so I battled and crashed my way through the night on the wrong tires and when they were worn down the track was dry.

Finally it was time for hard tires and to make up time!

Out of the pits the rain had returned.. Another pitstop was needed and I was dropping down the field while most of the AI did a perfectly timed pitstop.

1 hour of exciting racing ended with me a lap down, tomorrow I'm doing it again.

Almost didn't win at LeMans WTC700!
I took the Cayman Gr 4 in for a change. Not upgraded at all, but did get IM tyres.
The Cayman is a lovely car but takes a little time to get to full speed, not as fast as the jag or Aston Gr 4s (but they have upgrades).
But it will do 3 laps on FM 1, which is good.

Started raining end of lap 2 so pitted and put IMs on. Rain had stopped towards end of lap 4 and the radar showed all clear. Pitted again for RH tyres and fuel to take me to end of race..... imagine my surprise when I pulled out to start lap 5 and it started to rain again!

Hobbled around lap 5 and got overtaken by the Corvette. Didn't chase and took it easy, getting gained on by Viper.
At the start of lap 6 I suddenly realised this would be the last lap..... not enough time for 7! Luckily track was drying out so dropped to FM 1 and just managed to take the Corvette right at the end. That was an exciting race!

Did the 30 lap event at Tsukuba in the pissing rain where you had to manage fuel and tyre wear. After a few attempts where I could see that I was being way too conservative, I just set it to Power 1 and tried to pass as many ai cars as I could before holding back a bit. Pitted around lap 23 and eventually came 8th.
All it got me was a gr.4 86 😂
Still, at least I know a bit more how to manage the MFD....Got a couple of 'roulette' tickets with a generous 10k payout on both.
All the while they shove a 500k stack or 1M bar under your nose....Completed Schwarzwald League and now beginning GT-R races.

Finally got gold on the WTC 700 race at the Red Bull Ring, and even got the CRB. It turns out I was being too conservative with using Racing Medium tires and a fuel map of 3. No, you can totally use Racing Softs and an FM of 2, and I even had the FM as low as 1 for a few laps. I won with second place being slightly over ten seconds behind. It also rained a little, but not enough for the AI - nor I - to pit for Intermediates, let alone Heavy Wets.

Next will likely be the sole WTC 700 race in the Asia/Oceania part of World Circuits, the race at Autopolis. And once I clear that, I’ll do the last WTC 700 race that’s currently available - the 30mins of Le Mans!

EDIT: I also bought that first-generation Volkswagen Golf that showed up, as I think that’s going to be one my more preferable colors for it.

EDIT2: I also find it interesting that there’s not only just one WTC 700 race in the Asia-Oceania section, but also for the Americas, too, with a race at Laguna Seca. It just seems interesting that Europe has a notably disproportionate amount of the WTC 700 races, with events at Red Bull Ring, Deep Forest, Dragon Trail, Brands Hatch, and Le Mans.
