Pretty good 6am run:

I P3 the Viper race with a stock GT3 and then finished the IB license with a mix of metals, good enough for a Supra 24h Nür. Next is improve to gold for the LFA which I need for an extra menu anyway.

I finally got my Super License. I spun out right before passing the finish line but I was able to straighten out get the bronze. I don't think I am going to try for gold. I got masters b after that. Next I took Audi VGT to Sardegna. After that I copied the style from the Audi to my 2nd Audi VGT. I went to showcase to get some Audi decals to add to the livery. I changed the color to a plum pearl type color. Then I did a couple of photos with both Audis and one with LMS Evo that I got for the Super License. I created a livery for that then I took the Evo to LeMans. Actually had a race with no rain. Got a carbon shaft for the 4 ⭐ 🎟️

Recap from Sunday, lol...

Was completely off the pace last week so didn't bother with any daily races. Figured I'd make a couple bucks and take a swing at the weekly challenge stuff. All of which was fine UNTIL I got to the 900 challenge. Starting almost 40 seconds behind was HUGELY frustrating. Still being almost 20 seconds behind at lap 8 crosses the line into 'infuriating' territory, to the point of quitting multiple times. After running through everything I could, I gave up. Saw a shiny, never before driven Honda SF sittin' in the garage...let's see if we can make this thing work.

Knocking the output back to 85% on RM's got me on the track w/PP @ 899.21. To say it was a dramatic difference is an uderstatement, obviously. Running 29's and 30's allowed me to put 51 secs. on P2 by the end...and was also when I realized that everyone pits on lap 9. Hours wasted, lol.

At that stage it seemed a no-brainer to gold the Autopolis circuit challenge so knocked that off the list quick.😁

I did the Brands Hatch GR4 pepper race twice. The first time in VR and I finished 4th. Then I tried on 2D, and apart from thinking my 55 inch TV looked really small, was able to get the win.

Then I took on Sophy at Le Mans. I had medium tyres on and won. Even though Sophy tipped me into a spin that cost me a good 14 seconds on the opening lap boost got me back into it.

Stoked to read that Sophy comes to create race. Just hope there's a way to switch of boost properly and do endurance races....

Completed the 5 weekly challenge races in quick succession. Had to take 2 attempts at the Gr.1 St. Croix race as I paused it on lap 7, and fat-thumbed the controller before hitting X, resulting in me selecting "Retry" a split second before...

Joined a Maggiore lobby with 2 other racers, both driving tuned road cars, so I opted for a tuned Mazda Roadster/MX5/Miata. Took a few laps to warm up but eventually set the fastest lap. Couple of laps later and 1 of the other racers beat me by a few seconds, just in time for some plebs to join using the F3500 and a Tomahawk, set the fastest lap and leave.

On Thursday I downloaded the newest update and let the PS4 copying the whole game so I could check it out. Then I bought the new cars and a black Jag XJ220 and sold some extra copies. No test driving though.

On Friday I completed the weeklies, the 6 stars ticket gave me an Audi Gr1 which I sold right away. I test drove the Kangoo at its special event, it was an ok drive. When it comes to meme cars in GT7 I think the Unimog still is king.

The CX 30 and the new Aston felt "meh" to me, but maybe I was too sleepy and my brain was no longer working properly. That's a test drive for another day.

Absolutely rinsed it in race A until someone told me politely to sod off and give someone else a chance, so I moved to race B to get myself rinsed and spun again and again, Monday can’t come soon enough 😁

After knocking over the 600PP race at GVH for the weekly challege I started testing Gr. 3 cars for the next season of the league I am in.

Also took the opportunity to get used to the 2 new modifications I ordered for my G29.

Got a True Brake and Potentiometer Upgrade after the original part started playing up on me last week just before my last race for the season.

Today was Nissan track day at Autopolis short. I put 3 GT-Rs to the test.

First, was the 24 Premium Edition. I had a horrible time with it few months back in an online time trial challenge at Nurburgring Sprint. Then I bought a height adjustable suspension, set the natural springs stiffer and that with a set of sport medium tyres changed the car enough to become a very good ride ever since. Also installed what I call the "sport kit". Brakes and pads, filter, muffler and a chip computer, besides aero parts from GT auto.
Lap time tuned 638pp (1:14:526)

Second car of the day was the 17 vanilla version. In its stock settings with the same sport medium tyres the car was already good, but not enough to beat the 24's lap time.
Then I installed the same sport kit and aero parts with the same adjustable suspension and I manage to beat the lap time of the 24. Driving experience wise, I'd still pick the 24 though.
Lap time stock 607pp (1:15:061)
Lap time tuned 637pp (1:13:899)

And finally the cherry on top. The 17 Nismo version. Fully stock with sport medium tyres. This car.... Is rough, it just eats corners like no tomorrow, it sounds great and it drives great. I just can't imagine the grip I can get when I install the rear difuser and adjust the suspension. Definitely the best car of the 3, even in its stock setting it was the faster of the day.
Lap time stock 629pp (1:13:826)

The 24 feels more nimble and a little bit more oversteery (which I like in my cars) but the Nismo has the best driving/playing experience of the batch. For me at least.

On Sundays I usually have a second gaming session at night. This time I visited the Green Hell with a might 93 bhp Fiat 500 '68.

Here is the replay cam. It got a lap time slower than the Unimog....

Attempted to make a build guesstimating the specs of a of 'Speed 1600' Beetle as described in this article:

VW Beetle, and how we raced it. on theclassicmachines.com

We don't have access to the 1600cc engine, but we could try to replicate the power output using upgrades. I chose a conservative number, 60 HP based on what I have read on the Beetle 1600. This listing for the long block engine, confirms this to be a decent starting amount.

  • The transmission was left stock, since a 4-speed custom gearbox wasn't possible.
  • 55kg of ballast was used to represent a roll cage. It uses the shipping weight (121lbs) of this Rhodes 10-Point Roll Cage.
  • Originally, I was planning to use only a Stage 2 Weight Reduction, but stripped the remaining out when comparing to my Ferrari 458 Challenge build.
  • Natural Frequency is calculated from the OEM spring rates.
  • 14-inch, wide rims are used as mandatory

Notes
  • If using S2 Weight Reduction, use 1.30 Hz & 1.48 Hz Front and Rear Springs
  • Racing Muffler is used because it looks cooler :P
  • Stock damping ratios were only achievable through the Fully Customizable Suspension
  • Only the front ride height and rear camber are meant to be adjusted

Created a new PSN and redid the Cafe stuff (for about the 5th time) because I wanted to learn to use the roof(?) cam after a lifetime of chase. I'm not going to admit it's superior, but I do appear to be a bit faster.
