What Does GT7 Need To Be The "Best" Gran Turismo?

In the shortest way possible I'd just say go look at Codemasters games specfically DiRT 3 and Grid AS(currently play them most).

The Long-short way simply put you can look around the boards and find what most complain about.

1. A.I
2. Sound
3. Diffculty(Guess it's interchangeable with 1)
4. Car Count
5. Weather
6. Livery Editor
7. Race Weekend
8. Grid Start
9. Premium/Standard argument
10. Penalty Systems/Flags
11. Physics
12. Damage
13. Older Track/New Track upgraded or brought back to the series(SSR11 and El Captian)
14. Career Mode
15. Environment

None of these are in particular order, but this is what I know mostly browsing/commenting on the boards.

Me personally I think the game needs A.I the worst of all on the list. Reason just for the simple fact it would engage most racers instead of racing some 3 laps(which people already probably hate) bringing the A.I up would at least make the 3 laps or more seem worthwhile for the effort.

Some of the other things in the list aren't, or don't seem that important, but they make up the "little things".

Consumers what do they pay attention most.........advertisements I'm honestly starting to believe the only reason GT6 even underperformed is I don't ever remember seeing a commerical for the game, or anything like it.

Contrary to the belief you still need advertisments(of some form) I think the 2.2 or how many it even sold is representive of hardcore/people who just happen to keep up with the game etc.

Getting back to the game itself I've been on record stating that.

Simply doing three things correctly would put GT back in a better light then it currently is.

A.I, Career Mode(Taking us back to the golden days and more than 3 lap or 5 lap races etc.), and Me my own personal opinion (Environment).

Doing those three things would put them back into the middle of the pack I'd say.

As for the Environment part people say don't look at Environment while racing etc. Well I do, so I believe that's BS. Just in a thread forgot the name, talking about how much I hated Cape Ring it's the only track I truly hated, and I'm not a big fan of Willow Springs etc. The Layouts for both are good, but what's surronding them feels dead, and I've also been on the record of one course literally made me give up Gran Turismo 6 because of how dead it was that was, and that is Ascari Resort or something like that.

Lastly what can reviewers do..........not be an :censored:hat I've already seen reviewers botch reviews on purpose to either make a game seem better or worse.

I agree with most of this.A feature I'd like? How about organizing your garage in a way you'd like. A listing for all my drifting cars.A listing for all my cars for specific pp's. Instead you have to either go to a website like this or do many races in cars you think may do well.

My wishlist:

1. Open World Online
2. More Customization
3. All cars be with graphics
4. Nice physics & graphics
5. Original Car engine sounds
6. Clutch option using Dualshock 4
7. Important cars that are missing from the older GT Series

When looking at all the GT games I played I think GT7 needs the following:

-) The selection of rare japanese cars and the possibility to race modify every car from GT1

-) The incredible amount of events from GT4 + all the tracks that are not in GT6

-) GT5's career system where you really need to level up and spend your money with strategy

-) A used car dealer which has random road cars with different milages & price classes

-) Of course the massive content from GT6

- More realistic tyre modelling (compound, wear rate, temperature degradation)

- Be able to select tyre size and profile (ie 195, 205, 225 etc)

- Brake degradation

- More realistic aerodynamic modelling

- More aerodynamic aftermarket parts like front air dams, splitters, flat floors and diffusers, that actually work and aren't just cosmetic enhancements. Preferably from real aftermarket tuners like Amuse, RE Amemiya, etc

- More wheel options (more classic wheels like Watanabe and SSR Mesh etc)

- Allow us to select wheel width and offset

- More realistic AI that is not based on Pastor Maldonado.

If GT5 Prologue was the base and morphed into GT6, I think it would have been a more "complete" game. If we are to get a GT7P (probably not), expanding the game could work as an option.

I think the only thing PD needs to do to make GT7 the best game possible is simple:

listen to GT players. Just take into account what the majoraty of people is asking for and integrate those features into the next iteration of Gran Turismo.

GT7 needs to deliver the most authentic audio experience of any racing game. Or at least, massively improve the audio.
P.D. should build more classic Japanese cars to premium level, AE86, R31 GTS-R, KGC10, R30 RS Turbo, KGC110..etc.
show us some love for the Japanese car culture, take advantage of being a Japanese developer.
Actually the audio part would be enough for me to go out and buy a Ps4.

If you have ever watched a car while in the GT6 online lobby onboard with another gamers car, the blur when you are going fast looks much more realistic than when you are driving yourself. This is probably to give the driver a better view of an approaching apex etc, but defiantly add it to GT7. That alone would take the driving experience to an entirely new level.

Before anything else, GT7 needs to fix problems that have been with the GT series since its inception. Sounds, damage/collisions, AI, more even distribution of cars (modern/classic, nationality, type, etc), and a single player experience that doesn't require grinding. These problems hurt the most not because of their effect on the game itself, but because we have all been living with them for the past decade.

Second, GT7 needs to come up to speed with the feature set of modern driving games. This means a reasonable level of customization. Maybe we don't get a livery editor, but even preset liveries for race cars and an infinite color spectrum (no stupid paint chips) would go a long way. More rims, wings, and body kits. IMO GT6 now does a decent job with this but I think there is room for improvement. Next, make online easy (but keep the depth for those that want it). GT6 online had a lot of depth, but just about everyone I know not on this forum (and many people here) found it confusing and a hassle. IMO Driveclub does a great job of getting you online and connected with your friends with minimal fuss. Finally, the physics and have to improve. In my opinion Assetto Corsa has set the bar in terms of physics and FFB. With PD's budget, I think this should be achievable.

Finally, GT7 needs to extend the franchise beyond what itself and other racing games have done. Course maker, a fully optioned race event creator (offline and online), FULL pit stop simulation (how is it that so few games do this?), and Project Morpheus support are the obvious starting points. I think the integration of using your smartphone to record real world GPS data and then having the course maker create a track based on that data could/should be the big new item in GT7. Finally the inclusion of multiple types of vehicles from cars, to karts, to trucks and bikes would differentiate GT7 from other racing games.

A lot of what you said are things that aren't a priority. I dont think they need to even think about changing the online experience yet. Its fine for what everyone uses it for. What they should do is make the speed blur high for a more immersive experience and the sounds of each engine should be more distinct. Id like to see GT7 include more offroad tracks. Id also like to see the Brasil Grand Prix F1 track (which I can't remember at the moment) as well as an updated version of Monaco. Cote de Azur is set up slightly different than in real life. Other tracks I want are Sebring, Abu Dhabi (F1 track), Circuit of the Americas, and a very expansive airport runway with grass fields you can driver through, hangars etc...

I also really want to see manufacturers like BAC, Ariel, Hennessey, more Maserati's especially the MC12, more McLarens, Tramontana etc.

Lastly, I think us racers would like to see some more in depth race options. Tires you have to warm up, tires you can flat spot, a more realistic interpretation of KERS and other relevant Hybrid power trains.

AND FOR GOD SAKES! GET PORSCHE IN THE GAME. I WANNA SEE THE 919, 917, 911's, 997's, 918, CGT!!!!!!

Bottom line, they need to take a look at what the competition is doing and realize how far behind they've fallen, and then abandon their antiquated work practices and move the studio into the 21st century where things actually get done on a reasonable timescale.

What do you mean? Gt5 is ahead of its time when it came out it just fall short in some department. You're talking like PD didn't achieve anything. Look at Forza 6 it's already 2015 and they still don't have dynamic weather and time. Who's far behind now?

Better A.I or at the least more challenging.

Less Repeat models of JDM vehicles. Especially if they don't have better performance characteristics. (Mazda Miata for example)

Frame rate could be better.

Sounds, basically engine and exhaust notes, clutch/ Gear shift quality sounds to synthetic (who couldn't see that one coming)

A diverse car list (Do we really need 1000 plus cars 65 percent being JDM)

Better Q&A testing to get out the bugs from the finished product. Some bugs will be there probably but dang...

Deliver on the promises a tad bit sooner if at all possible.

A new fan base (some fans suck)
Oh, ah. That hurts, NOT. :sly:

Do you mean those that's been grateful enough to support PD for a decade like all the rest, only to move on to better things due to said developer lacking in their work to make their game better as well as listen to those that supported them? Than yes, let's get a new fanbase that'll end up just the same as this one. :mischievous:
