What Does GT7 Need To Be The "Best" Gran Turismo?

Oh, ah. That hurts, NOT. :sly:

Do you mean those that's been grateful enough to support PD for a decade like all the rest, only to move on to better things due to said developer lacking in their work to make their game better as well as listen to those that supported them? Than yes, let's get a new fanbase that'll end up just the same as this one. :mischievous:
Maybe it's just those fans that they're are getting old :P

Qualifying
This. I love the practice and qualifying thing before racing in pCars. Similar to this would be fine, or just go back to old roots, GT1 and GT2(?) had qualifying so why did they discard it.

Aaand no rolling start. I'm tired of it.

My guess goes to slow AI... Even now, starting at 16th place with rolling start you can win with a much worse car. Starting from a pole position would be just pointless in GT6.

AI Improvement then as stated already.

starting 16th or 12th or 6th and having to pass every car in 3 laps is more stupid. Its not a race its just a demolition derby..
its my biggest hate on GT6.

should have the option of a 20minute practice session and then a 10minute qually session or start at the back.

Yeah, if you start a 10 lap GT3 race in pCARS starting in the last place (let's say 30th place), with AI difficulty set at 90 (real like imo) you'll be lucky if you finish 15th if you're really good.

I like it.

Me too. Challenging races is the most demanding ones and fun ones. In pcars I really don't care what position I finish in as long as I actually get "tired" because it was an intense race. In comparison to GT where I only want to win and only get tired because of the number of races I've entered (raced for xx hours)

I'm sorry I just don't see the competition.. I've played forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2 and they don't feel half as good as GT6 I'm sorry... And pCARS, well I like it, I play it every day but... It just isn't GT :boggled:

It may not for you, but it should for Kaz since he IS developer going against those titles after all. :sly: Because right now, Kaz has his work cut out for him since a lot of devs of the racing genre are joining in and heating up the competition for GT7. Due to that, GT7 HAS to wow people in order to gain most of them back after GT5 and GT6's failure to be better than other racing titles like Forza and pCARS. But of course, Kaz refuses to listen and prefers to do things "his" way in order to achieve "his vision" which is why GT has been lackluster as of late.

That's why I rather have a new developer that knows how to make racing games and listen to his or her fans feedback.

Grid autosport have both of that, and even race day regulations/rules set you can acces ;)

Yea it was. The game wasn't even complete when it launch. It's like they started over and took off everything they had on GT5 and now is trying to add everything back. What kind of decision was that???:odd:

That's what happens when you're a perfectionist. You tend to start over from scratch when something isn't perfect or up to your liking.

That game sucks though. Too aggressive AI.
While the AI in GA can be aggressive at times it hardly makes the game "suck." It's still far more entertaining to race the AI in GA than in GT, which would be something to improve on in GT7. The racing experience, of which AI is a part of, needs to be improved massively in GT7. I think the game can be made a lot better this way.

At times? They never show respect. More a destruction derby than a hard-to-beat competitive AI. Sure GT needs better AI. But no way I want it like GA. PC on the other hand. That's how I'd like GTs AI to be like.

1. Sound
2. A.I.
3. Career mode improved.
4.Course Maker.
5.Better customisation of cars ( aka Forza 4 )
6. Standards brought up to Premium. To many gtr's / miatas. If the body is changed on the model then I would like to see it included the rest removed.

PD have not released many new cars but has given us Concepts instead, would rather have real cars than dreamers cars.

Why the angst towards the standard cars. If the standard cars are brought upto date that would excellent. Car interiors are probably not that important to most players anyway. Would rather have the ability to tune / race the older standards than the useless Concept cars that has been given free but have limited playability.

What do you mean? Gt5 is ahead of its time when it came out it just fall short in some department. You're talking like PD didn't achieve anything. Look at Forza 6 it's already 2015 and they still don't have dynamic weather and time. Who's far behind now?

This is such an ironic question. Because meanwhile, GT still doesn't have decent AI and sounds or any sort of livery editor, among other things. Even something as simple as repainting a car is a ridiculous process. These are things other racing games have been doing for years now.

Now to GT's credit, it does have a few neat features that other games don't (And I hope that one day I can say the course maker will be one of those things, if it ever comes). However, when looking at the big picture, GT is still behind in some critical areas that hopefully GT7 will finally deal with.

GT6 doesn't have proper races offline, that alone is enough to put GT6 behind a bunch of other games. What's the point of having cars & tracks if I can't setup proper races with them?

Okay apart from the obvious, the sense of speed. I've said this in another thread and I'll say it again here. There is no sense of speed.

Going 400 km/h on the bumpy Mulsanne straight should make me 🤬 my pants, not sleep. I swear the game gets boring real fast.. every now and then, I have that itch to play GT. I crave it; I don't know why, but I do. The second I pop the disk in and get to the opening movie, I turn off my PS3 and go back to PS4. Why? Because all the things wrong with GT come flooding in... ridiculously long wait times, unnecessary loading screens, etc...

The game needs an overhaul. I'm sorry but Kaz needs to go and live his fantasy somewhere else. GT is dead with him at the wheel.

More realistic aerodynamic Physics like Lamborghini murcielago air intakes

And more aggressive engine sounds.

Free roam? Like forza horizon 2

Honestly "borrow" pc career mode setup and go from there, but seriously gt7 needs to flat out wow us the community, and everyone else that looks at the game to even get up to gt5 sales numbers. They need to draw us in and keep us there, heres a small list of some things i think gt7 needs as a "whole".

  • AI needs to catch honestly mario kart 64 was smarter, project car level or better is required for people to keep playing.
  • Atmosphere from sound to dynamic weather and media to crews in the pits, if im racing at night in say 24 Le Mans during a busy pit i should see dozens of cars ranging in sizes, sound, power, class all with their crews trying to work fastest to get out on the track, fuel leaking from refueling nozzles tires smoking if its cold and the sound. It Should be almost deafening and when a gt3 starts up crackling and poping behind you it should rattle the hairs on your neck as it drive by with aloud low buzz at pit speed.
  • Tracks are dead adding crowd reaction to crashes in replay would be cool, also trees swaying in the breeze rocking during a wind/rain storm.
  • Obviously more modern cars there is no excuse not knowing what people want look at motortrend lists lol
  • Be INOVATIVE bring something unique to the genre, like actually geting out during a pit stop and swapping drivers during a long race in career or online with a friend watching in suspense as he pushes it to gain time on your teams last car as victory is within reach. having crowds react if your a home town fave or a legend. Having legit track days off and online having to refuel at the gas station manually out side your car having to pay credits and if you see someone else refueling you can chat with them even lend them/you some credits. Also vistor car parks nuringburg comes to mind, get out and examine car open doors ect talk to other players about there rare or custom car at track days and car events. People can bring top leaderboard cars rare custom exotics sell/trade by talking to owners at player car events. Walk around chat and swap lol difrent backdrops so to stay freash photo travel but bigger also private car events add your custom music through usb to played aloud, tuners, muscle, exotic ect.
  • Customization needs overhaul i have a simple idea for longevity of body mods lets say you add wide arches to a R32 you can flare them out or in to your hearts desires by pulling them with a body mod tool same for wheels and these mod affect performance like aero, grip, weight livory editor interior exterior wheels too lol
Ok begain to get wild, so a little fatastical but alot if not all these things can be added and honestly even if there not they need to make a game thinking outside the box while being inovative and fun while exceeding fan expectations and the publics, tall order but i remain optimistic PD can pull something good off. :)

I don't get it... GT has a history with patterns. Even numbered titles are succesful and odds, not so much.

GT1, we'll let slide, as it was the first game in the series.

GT2, AMAZING comeback. Hands down one of the best GT's, if not the best.

GT3, was a bit of a disappointment.

GT4, was, again, AMAZING. Everything from the track list, car list, to the features and graphics.

GT5, was a flop *compared to GT4* The only reason it made so many sales was because of the expectations. Fans could FINALLY get their hands on the new GT

GT6, even numbered title, should've been a MASSIVE improvement. Instead, it was a flop. It was simply a reboot/port.

At this point, who knows, GT7 might wow us, then again, if it goes with the pattern, it'll be crap. Then GT8 will be the greatest GT ever, but if GT7 flops, the entire platform for the franchise is gone.

Kaz's last chance to prove to the fans he knows what he's doing and prove that he's listening. Otherwise... ABANDON SHIP
