What games are you playing now?

I had pre ordered Balders Gate 3 when it was first offered for sale to support Larian making the game as I was a big fan of BG1 and BG2 from years ago.

Between life and other reasons as I usually wait a while before I play a new release to let them fix all the quirks and bugs along with getting any gameplay and balance issues sorted out through updates before I do my initial playthrough.

Well finally just getting going, did my character creation as a Evocation Wizard based on a Githyanki race build as the attributes of the race add armor and weapons proficiencies to the wizard build.

Been a long time since I played a game such as this but as an older gamer I enjoy the ability to go at a slower pace and really spend time exploring the world and even planning out the turn based combat.
I am in no hurry to finish the game and expect I will do a number of different playthroughs with different character builds and party composition.
This sounds familiar. I've had the game since launch, 500+ hours in and I still haven't got anywhere near an ending. Keep restarting and trying new classes, new races, good and evil, new romances. Console mods now available are not helping the situation. It is really turning into a forever game, I just don't play anything else anymore.

I’m continuing my 128bit tour with the PS2 now, going through old racing games mainly. I’ve really enjoyed going back through the Evolution Studios WRC titles, for my money WRC 2: Extreme through WRC Evolved are still maybe the second best WRC games you can play today, behind obviously DR2.0 and EA WRC. But behind those two, I think I’d take these over pretty much anything else. The stages are long, narrow and convincing. Rallies are 8-9 stages long and feel a bit of a marathon. The handling is good and the physics are fun. The car list is limited to the cars from that year, but that means stuff like the Octavia, Hyundai Accent, Peugeot 307, cars that aren’t really in other games even now. The AI levels are consistent and well tuned to the player. And visually, again, in 2024 the games still look absolutely fine. Detailed scenery, good frame rates, good solid car models. All you need for immersion. The jump in visuals between PS1 and PS2 is amazing, night and day. I doubt we’ll ever see a leap like that again.

Okay guys, since I finished FO4, I couldn't decide what to play. Gonna need a suggestion, what game should I play next from my backlog ? I'm out of ideas tbh

1. Finish Armored Core 6
2. Continue Days Gone
3. Monster Hunter World
4. Driveclub (started gaming again 2022 so never played this despite already buying it)
5. Ghost Recon Wildlands

1 or 2. Don't start anything new or your backlog will grow to the size of Everest. I speak from experience, have now banned myself from buying anything for at least 6 months.

Right now I'm playing Kingdom Hearts 3, and then I'm going to bed. I'm tired. I love all the Disney stories in this series. Sora is a pretty cool character.

Reinstalled Astro's Playroom because I never gave it much a chance when I first got the PS5, and it ended up getting uninstalled to make room for other games (Now with the SSD card, I don't have to worry about that. At least for the time being anyway). Not normally too bothered about trophies but getting the Platinum for it seems like it might be fun.

Also, still playing Balatro and F1 Manager as well.

I went back to the PC fighting game engine MUGEN. Unless you make your own fighting game, MUGEN has withstood the test of time since its 1999 debut. You could have just Kung Fu Man (or KFM) and be happy. Or, you can customize the daylights out of MUGEN to make it absolutely sublime. I wanted to have a go at making characters and maybe some stages. All original, of course. That's why I been playing it again.

Just finished Silent Hill 2, genuinely the scariest and most tense game I've ever played.

The only downside for me is that I'm not feeling a second or multiple playthroughs as the game is quite long and I genuinely felt a sense of relief when I left some locations I'm not sure I feel like going through them again lol

Debating between Alan Wake 2 or Like a Dragon infinite wealth next until then it's back to Mad Max.

Having just bought a Fanatec CSL DD and blew the cobwebs off my racing rig( not been used or sat in for nearly 4 years) due to my Flight simming, I’ve managed to set up both the wheel and pedals and my HOTAS onto the rig so I’m currently revisiting EA WRC and just started a career in ACC, and crikey, a direct drive wheel is ANOTHER level of realism, I’m still stunned that the whole Fanatec set up came to the rather agreeable price of just £312 including shipping.. Gotta love PC gaming, my PlayStation days are over unless they release a remastered Driveclub 😀

Heroes of Hammerwatch - easy fun
Hammerwatch 2 - continues a different path, more RPG, less arcadia
Prince of Persia: The lost crown - modern nostalgia

Lately, Jumping Flash! has been on my mind, so I finally decided to play it some today. The game came with my Playstation Classic and I had played it briefly in the past but never really bothered to check out the rest of the game. So I decided to finally give it a chance and see what it has to offer since it always interested me. :)

I've only been playing Ghost of Tsushima for the past two weeks or so on the PS5. Grabbed it while it's still free with my PS+ subscription.

Nowadays, it's a rare sight where I play 'action-advanture' games but this game has captured my attention like no other. While I'm still on Act 1 and 25 hours in, the graphics are absolutely mesmerizing at times, the combat as well gameplay are excellent and combined with the rock-solid performance, this is quickly becoming an all-time favorite game of mine. Love having the ability to make different loadouts and easily switching between them while playing too.

At the pace I'm currently playing and enjoying the game, I'm looking at 100+ hours of game time, maybe even more with a NG+. I was going to pick up SW: Outlaws during the usual christmas sale but that probably won't happen anytime soon thanks to GoT :embarrassed:

I'm playing Tony Hawk: Pro Skater 1 and 2. Here's a photo from the game. It is really cool. You get to skate at certain themed areas of the world. You can even create your own theme park with various items and power-ups.

I've been getting home too late to actually play it the past few nights but I have gone back to Ace Combat 7 after all, doing the guns only campaign run. It's hard! I had to redo the fleet attack mission a ridiculous number of times, mostly because I kept crashing into the platforms trying to destroy them with my guns.

I finally got really hooked on AC6 during NG+, probably because we became a monster that easily obliterates everything here. Some new bosses still gives me a hard time but it's insane how bosses like Baltheus is melted easily in NG+ lol

Make sure to play the DLC, it's amazing and way harder than the base game IMO, but I played it on Lethal so I don't know how hard it is on different difficulties.

Admittedly, I’m a filthy casual when it comes to these types of games so I’ve just now increased the difficulty as I’ve progressed. Looking forward to getting to Iki Island though.

Lethal Mode is fun if you wanna try it. Essentially made every character (including Jin) dies in 1-2 hits lol

I'm playing lots of things, which ensures that I will not finish any game properly in some time...

On PC - Ubisoft: Star Wars Outlaws (1st run) and Immortals Phoenyx Rising (3rd run or so, I love that game).
Steam - Banishers Ghosts of New Eden, Hogwarts Legacy (2nd run, now a Ravenclaw), Rise of the Tomb Rider (umpteenth run), Star Trek Resurgence (about 2/3 of the history in my estimate).
On Xbox Series X - Cyberpunk 2077 (Corpo run trying to delay going into Phantom Liberty as much as possible).
Plus, my usual daily fix of Forza Motorsport/FH5 on PC or Xbox.

As a no-kids work at home freelancer that is how I make the time to play.
