Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered - Sure, these remasters for games that aren't really all that old are strange, but it's one of my all-time favorites and now it looks better, so why not?

Metro Awakening (PSVR2) - Loved the Metro trilogy for the atmospheric exploration and horror aspect so experiencing that in VR is fantastic.

In the end the Digital Foundry coverage of the HZD remaster convinced me to upgrade (via Steam, only about USD$6.5, as the exchange rate is favorable to me). Installing the software to sign up the PSN has been a pain, but I think the latest Windows update is to blame for that. And yes, it was my favorite game of last year as a newbie PC builder.

The price to upgrade is a very fair price, I think. Maybe it's still a hard sell to some because the original still holds up very well in the graphics/performance department, but the improvements make it worthwhile since it's more than just updated textures and lighting as the DF video shows. I am stunned by the details in the environments now.

Compared to The Last of Us Part II Remastered which is not easy to tell the difference between the original and remaster and had a similar $10 upgrade price if I recall.

Dusting off Spider-Man Miles Morales to get the Platinum for it. Its the only one of the three Spider-Man games I have yet to get the Platinum for and I need something productive (well, as productive as playing video games can be anyway) to distract my mind a little after this week.

I completed the Black Ops 6 campaign, and I was surprised at how good it was. The story is kind of weird for a cod game but they got really creative with it this time.

Zombies is round based again so that's nice, the previous open world mode was pretty much just DMZ with zombies.

My biggest pet peeve about multiplayer is the lack of headshot multiplier. It feels really weak or just non existent for most of the guns, you might as well just go for the body with smg's, ar's and pistols.

I reconnected my original PSVR to finally finish Rescue Mission and get a bit of exercise with BoxVR. Had another playthrough of Blood & Truth as well, still my favourite VR game. A travesty that it never even got a port and the studio got canned.

Yesterday I started with Alan Wake Remastered.
After Silent Hill 2 Remake, this is childish title if comparing them.
But I like the game, it has it's own setting that is dark adventure.

GT7 as always.

Apex Legends, but just against bots.

The newish Pokemon mobile game.

Finished the BLOPS 6 campaign which was excellent.

Reeeeeeally looking forward to Stalker 2 and Flight Sim 24. Almost here now!

After finishing My Friend Pedro I picked, at random, another indie game featuring extreme sports, dual-wielded pistols, tricks, slow motion, a combo-based scoring system and letter graded performance (that I'm bad at) that I had played a few minutes of before shelving because I thought it was overhyped - or maybe it was simply that I wasn't instantly good at it?

That's right, I'm talking about Rollerdrome. And I'm still not great at it but I spent some time figuring it out and it is actually quite good after all. It is pretty much just My Friend Pedro in 3D though.

I went back and re-downloaded DiRT 4, as I had only really played it for the Landrush and Rallycross modes back in the day. I'm currently LOVING the rally content, and it even got me motivated to boot up RalliSport Challenge 2 again, so I'm in a rally mood at the moment!

Started God of War III Remastered yesterday. Awesome game 😎 Played Lies of P for 4 hours on Sunday to defeat one boss but got there eventually after dying 150 + times 🤣 GT7, FM23, FH5 and DMC 4.
You get an extra like for DMC 4 👍

I've normally got at least 10 dozen games on the go because I have a short attention span and can't complete anything (except simple puzzle games) I've started over 400 games and completed 44.
My latest go-to game is "The Quarry". I've got 5 hours in and am enjoying it.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Season One was on sale yesterday so I bought that. If I get through "The Quarry" I've got another 4 similar games to go through. "Until Dawn" is on my Steam wishlist but I prefer to play games on my Xboxes, not my PC.

I'm spending the night at my neighbor's house. He has a computer and ps4. We're playing Batman: Arkham Collection
If you want a challenge, this is the game to test your fighting skills.

I only have 6 platinums and 4 of them are Spidey (Remastered counts as a separate one apparently :))
I've got 8 Platinum's now. Did forget that the Remaster of the OG counts as a separate one. I played thru it before playing Miles Morales the first time around. Not sure what trophies I'm missing... 🤔 Maybe some other day though.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 Remastered. It's fine. No modification, the roads are samey and not very fun, driving is serviceable, it's quite challenging (especially at 1280x800@30fps on an 8" or whatever screen and with tired parent reflexes - can't see very far down the road and can't respond in time to the things I can see), uninspired car selection that feels like they were chosen to sell cars above anything else.

On the final boss of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, didn't enjoy it as much as the first game, some chapters felt like a chore and having to level up characters separately in different countries as well as always changing the gear between them ruined the pacing in my opinion.

Also in-between going back to command and conquer remastered on the steam deck, only playing skirmishes when I have 30/40 minutes to kill, perfect game for the steam deck.

GT7, Dynasty WWE2k22 , DW9 and Sonic Origins. I started Origins last week and I forgot how difficult that game was. I kept dying a lot in the Greenhill Zone 🤣 then I got stuck on the 2nd stage for a week. I told my children we used to have to play without having unlimited lives. After playing this I realized that modern games have become much easier. I find myself dying and wishing that I could just start right where I died instead of going back to the checkpoint. Having 3 lives only makes you sharpen your skills. Now I know I can keep playing and not have to go all the way back to beginning when I shut down the game 🤣

Freed up some drive space so i downloaded the PS5 upgrade for Jedi: Fallen Order. Hadn't played it in ages, not since i got stuck fighting against one of the Inquisitors lateish on in the game on PS4.

The graphics and frame rate are a worthy upgrade, especially for free. The reduced loading times from the SSD are also a welcome improvement as its one of those games where you can die stupid deaths quite frequently and the following long load times can just make you want to give up and play something else.

It is starting to show its age though. Control, especially in combat, is a bit clunky compared to other 3rd person games and the limit of where you can roam are a bit tying, even for this sort of game - but then i always feel that following on from true OW games.

If i can limit my irritation to having to constantly retrace my steps after dying for the umpteenth time falling off a vine whilst mistakenly getting my lightsabre out instead of the jump i was trying to make, i might follow the story through to the end and think about getting Jedi: Survivor when done.

Fallen Order has what has to be one of if not the worst game maps Not sure how it made it through testing. The constant back tracking took away for me and I haven't played it in about a year

I played and finished Fallen Order thrice (Xbox One, Series X, PC). While there are sections of the maps that are confusing, if you find the shortcuts it gets easier, and I do prefer it to the more Ubisoft open world style of SWJ: Survivor. Having to retrace is an unfortunate characteristic of this "souls-like" or "souls-lite" games though. As for the combat, sticking to a defensive style suited me best, after all, I'm not a powerful Jedi knight, just a conflicted and lowly Padawan.
