It is just so frustratingly hard. I haven’t clicked with the combat yet,
Took a while for me too.
At first I was at disbelieve "this certianly cant be more difficult than x, so why am I so bad?", and then "ah ok, I am trying to much to avoid being hit when instead all I need to do is what I always do: kill before being hit!"

The permanent weapon upgrades at first probably seem like only a small upgrade, but unlocking new weapon skills and weapons really makes a difference.
The first gun I really enjoyed was the "shotgun" with solid shell instead of spread, and the "ooze lobber" seemed too strong.

Since finishing Yakuza Kiwami I've been bouncing around a few things, haven't found anything particularly engaging and it actually prompted me to delete about 20 games from my Deck that have been there for years. The last thing I tried was Ghostwire Tokyo and basically I think what I've learned is I want to play more Yakuza already.

Good choice, I can wholeheartedly recommend Yakuza Kiwami 2 in this case!

I will tackle the last missions of Sniper Elite Resistance today. IMO is better than Sniper Elite 5 just because the map sizes are smaller and there are more ways to survive a firefight if you get caught into one.

And I'm still putting hours into Avowed.

And I finished Sniper Elite Resistance's campaign, a fun and good 8/10 game. There are other game modes to try, but maybe later since right now Steam has their Spring sale and well, deleting it clears 95 GB of space.

Started with Returnal.

I absolutely love the vibe of this game. Prometheus/ Alien all the way. It is just so frustratingly hard. I haven’t clicked with the combat yet, resulting in to many deaths. But man do I like the concept.
Returnal is one of those games to me that I've accepted that I may never complete it, but I absolutely love the game still (Hollow Knight is another example). I would say keep at it and you may learn the mechanics enough to master it, but don't dismiss it if you don't.

I was frustrated when I first played, but once I got better and the "impossible" first boss fight became very easy then the game clicked. I've been meaning to start over from scratch. I think I can beat the game if I focus on it.

I'm playing through KCD again before picking up KCDII. I never played any of the DLC with the game and I couldn't really remember everything with the story. I forgot how awesome the combat was with that game too since you actively need to think about what you're doing during sword fights.

It’s been on my PC for quite a while but finally started Red Dead Redemption 2.. I’m normally a sim racer / flyer type these days and the thought of sinking a million hours into this type of game again quite frankly scared me, don’t get me wrong though as The Last Of Us 1 + 2 are my most favourite games I’ve ever played.
But after a few hours I can see why it’s so highly rated, loved the first one and this one is slowly but surely dragging me in, it looks stunning on my PC and I’m afraid my wife is going to see alot less of me than she already does 😂

Got stuck on Whiteclad Noble boss for three days, but today I finally beat him!

After I learned how to do Skyfall combo, it was little easier.

Ongoing:
Diablo 2 - close to level 98, it is not that far away anymore

EA WRC (whatever title) 24 - Like the driving feeling, dont like the graphics. Fortunatly the trophies are easy and the game is short on time to finish. Only need to "finish WRC career mode" and the trophy with the broken engine - 1000 miles should be done by that point.

New:
Sniper Elite 5 - playing coop with a buddy, though I guess it could be some grind heavy game to max out all weapon ranks.

lots of games on the planned stack, not decided whatever is going to follow next.

My week runs like this..
Monday - Grid Autosport and Grid Legends weekly events
Tuesday - GT7 weekly races and time trial
Wednesday morning - The Crew 2 Summit and continuing to work through the massive events list
Wednesday evening - The Crew Motorsport (newly acquired) - Main Stage and one playlist unlock
Thursday - Forza Horizon 3 races (have about 100 cars left to buy, though the game is complete, so I'm running users championships with random cars stock
Friday - Forza 7 Forzathon - have all the cars but need to buy 3 to replace ones with 0 XP points, plus making sure ive got all the Special Dealer cars, plus I'm 50 levels short of 500 for the suit unlock
Saturday - my day off
Sunday - more of The Crew Motorsport - Summit races and maybe some challenges/photos etc

I may pick up TDU Solar Crown as its on sale, ready for the new free Solar Pass season, which will mean cancelling my day off

Derail Valley, horsing around in Sandbox while I learn the controls through brute force :sly:

Wasn't feeling Ghostwire Tokyo, the Deck is just a bit too weak for it, so I decided to take advantage of the Steam sale and bought just Metal Gear Solid from the MGS Master Collection (I'll pick up 2 and 3 later as it's actually more expensive to buy the bundle than the games individually!) and just Yakuza Kiwami 2 because it's slightly cheaper if you complete the Kiwami/Kiwami 2 bundle than it is in the Yakuza complete bundle. I would've bought both complete bundles at a cost of £65, except someone threw a rock through my window this weekend which wasn't super cheap to address.

Anyway, I loaded up MGS VR Missions to chip away at it, age hasn't slowed me down one bit as I blew through the 15 practice sneaking missions with little trouble, did some practice weapons sets and managed to get some top scores in some 1 min battles against targets then went back to practice sneaking w/SOCOM missions before deciding I was too tired to continue last night. I look forward to discovering the limits of my muscle memory when I come to try the time attack grenade and PSG-1 missions, I remember those being absolutely awful and impossible even back when my hands remembered the controls better.

It's funny though because I've played MGS and VR Missions a lot in the last 27 or however many years and yet it still feels new to me somehow, maybe because of how it's packaged with the different versions of the games and the digital books and stuff and playing it on my Deck which does feel more like a console than a PC, yet saying it's instantly familiar would be an understatement because I know the game like the back of my hand (which reminds me, I should see a doctor about the new mole on the back of my hand...) and picking it back up again is easy, though mastering it again as the gulf between the controls MGS had and the easy controls we have now in all other games widens with time isn't so straightforward.

Finished Avowed. 7/10

Playing Split Fiction right now which feels like a 9/10 so far.

Side note: Just pre-ordered DEATH STRANDING 2 Digital Deluxe Edition - Woohoo
