What have you done to your car today?

Installed a new(er) hatch with the 3rd brake light attached to the glass.

This spoiler comes next after I realign the hatch and get the holes filled:

I closed the garage door on my wagon today. Stupid, stupid, stupid! :banghead:

Notice the two huge, deep scratches from the door handle.

Hopefully that will buff out.

After months of ownership, I finally removed the last of the lug nuts. I also painted the right spindle/c-hub and started drilling out a broken shock bolt...It sucks.

Hot brakes much? Lucky they didn't catch fire.

I spent four hours polishing one of my new wheels. It looks good now, but I can't wait until there's paint on it.

Looks like I've got another twelve hours of polishing (mostly by hand) to do. Oh, yay.

(That is, I'm making the spoke faces polished, when they previously weren't.)

I spent Saturday afternoon installing a rear sway bar and polyurethane bushings from RM Racing, while today I installed a set of Ingalls Quickcam camber adjustment bolts on the front of the car, and bled the brakes.
On Monday and Tuesday I'll finish up polishing the wheel faces, Wednesday I'll spray them, and Thursday the car's going into the shop for an alignment, as well as having the Azenis mounted to the new wheels.

the rover is sold! some guy turned up sunday with 400 cash and drove it away shortly after! glad to have it sold but miss it already lol
now iv downgraded to a measly 1.6 astra, trying to like it though its slower, quieter and the wheel digs into my legs and it doesnt feel as nice as the rover did but meh il get used to it. seeing how im gona wire up the amp n subs, seems vauxhall didnt want anyone doing stuff easily to it! will have to take the seats out just to get the trim off so i can lay the cables underneath :ouch:

Got me some new tires today. BFG Potenza RE950s, 205/60R15. Up from my bald RE910 195/60R15. They're a little chunkier than old ones and look a bit odd, but they ride better. I'll give them a good shake down tomorrow.

Installed my SatNav. Well, that consisted of chucking the cigarette lighter and sticking a suction cup on the window, but it's in. :)

I know.

It would've been VERY cool to be exact. Issue is... The floors are bad, the front subframe is bad...

It's all shot to hell underneath.

well i got home from school, started her up, she ran great although I need to replace some parts and then we got hail but hopefully nothing gets broken or dented

Post pics, I am going to do this to my prelude wheels soon

I'm keeping with my usual wash every weekend, wax monthly, although it is due for a wax job once I get that fender fixed. Although, I do have a couple car care questions:

Does anybody know how to get paint out of leather? There is some blueish paint stuff left over from the one time my sister drove it this summer. Is there a good way to get stains and dirt off on interior plastic? There is some stuff pretty well caked on there right now. And I'm thinking I finally need to deal with the rock chips on the front. Is claying a good way to get rid of these? And will that get rid of the "swirlies" that are starting to form on the paint?

Thanks to the generosity of a former owner of the 1600 I now have some choice freebies.
Semi-prepped L16 block (match ported etc), crankshaft, 4x L24 pistons (apparently when in an L16 bump up the compression a bit), and various bearings.

I know, I thought that was pretty awesome till I tried one. They're half moon shaped, solid and metallic tasting. Like the worst cookies I've ever had. oh right. bearings. bugger
Dunk them in tea first. They might soften a little. Like a Gingernut.

im trying to like the astra, i really am...thinking over the 270 miles i did today some things bug me lol
the wheel digging into legs, the clutch pedal that goes way further than the other pedals so i have to be close..but far :odd: and its jus darn uncomfortable to drive arg and while it does drive well, its boring, i feel nothing :indiff:
