What is the hardest track in the game?

What Top Gear is the easiest track to lap on. I usally get 1:05 to 1:17 depending on what car I use. I'm the stig man, joking.

The top gear track is unrealistic in GT5 as a stock veyron I real life goes round in 1:18 and I can do it on GT5 in 1:10

Of course its a video game. But I'm pretty sure the stig or whoever has skills can get a faster time than 1:15.

Rethinking a bit, Motegi has some odd corners too. The third corner leading to the hairpin has a slow entry, but its quite fast. On top of that the last section after the long downhill back straight is incredibly technical. The last chicane too has a fast entry but a tricky exit.

Depends how determined you are to really clip the apexes. I tend to use a good chunk of grass on all three elements with my other tyres just on the track. This lets you tap the brakes for the initial entry left and lines you up for cutting the actual chicane. You then tend to run a bit wide at the start of the straight but with practice you can get away with this.

Reading other peoples answers really make me realize how many noobs play this game. I love the game but the community is such garbage. Maybe I'm spoiled by iracing but come on people, step up your game, you're not playing NFS

Hmm hardly fair is it? Some people don't have a dfgt and hours to practice.

Gt5 has a wide and mixed base. Elitists and all.

Garbage?...The feeling's mutual.
At least were all honest enough to admit that we have tracks that we find difficult; even if they're tracks most people find effortless.

Were not acting pretentious, and trying to look clever/good on the Internet. And, to clarify, you're not spoiled by iRacing. As a matter of fact it's YOU whose spoiling :gtplanet:

Yours sincerely,
Noob.

That's a very crappy thing to say about GTP.

If you don't like the GTP then why do you have an account. The GTP forum is a brilliant place and has helped me loads with Gran Turismo. Daan who is one of the moderators here is very helpful and my short time on GT planet has been a very enjoyable experience. It's quite a dumb idea to call The GTP community noobs as there are moderators subscribed to this thread and you are violating the AUP by offending other users.

If you don't like the way someone posts and if you feel affected by the issues raised in said members post then you can always press the Report Button. It's the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it - leave a message in the box and it'll go straight to all the moderators. Posting on here that you don't like being called a noob will not make a lot of difference to said member if you feel so strongly about it.

I have reported it

I agree that Cape Ring is a tire eating monster. And it also can be a mayhem bazaar in online races depending on the cars & drivers involved.
But I have found various versions of it to be fun with various cars. Particularly low power & FF cars can be very fun and not completely nutty on the Cape Ring tracks.
Also what was said earlier about Periphery is true that it's good to test various handling of cars. It really is good at bringing out a car's flaws.

TGTT is just a nightmare in online races for the most part because with penalties on, too many times people who don't know the track will make accidents that give others the penalties. With penalties off, you can really get away with murder in track shorting. Moreover, people can get confused, and wind up going the wrong part of the track at the wrong time - and they will have no indication... just have to re-drive a whole section and wonder why the race is finished and they're still running in the end timer... or worse, why they're crossing over traffic in the crisscross in a 10 minute race.

That said, I wouldn't say that either the Cape Ring tracks or TGTT are "difficult" for these reasons. Unless you mean "difficult" in the sense of pesky.

I will say I've been on some difficult custom tracks. Difficult for various reasons. Sometimes in a good way, and sometimes not so much.
But many of us have really enjoyed ridiculously long custom courses. Of course, it is highly dependent upon racing the appropriate cars matched to the appropriate tracks.

And truly, I think that's what it always comes down to... What car on what track?

Mine too, I always take a bucket and spade when I race there.
:lol: Don't forget your metal detector.
Yeah I have that problem in a lot of cars. Motegi Road Course & Suzuka are both difficult to get good clean no error full laps on... Their length & varying turns make that the case. And yes, the copious amounts of sand make it likely that if you go off spectacularly anywhere on those tracks, you'll be losing lots of time digging yourself back on track.

@ TomBrady - with an attitude like that, you're unlikely to be making good racing friends anywhere you go.

Motegi is hard because it is so flat and those hairpins, it's hard to see the curves properly and pick the line. Indy also. Flat track hard to "see" the curves, particularly acute angles. In a real car you would just turn your head.

I have to say... ive put almost 40k miles on the nurb, so I find that track amazing, plus fairly simple...

The tracks I just cant get are:
Rome
Fiji
Motegi

Wait...so am I a noob or not? To quote him, "Nurburgring Nordschliefe for sure," would mean he finds that particular track difficult. But I don't have any trouble with the Nurburgring, which would mean I shouldn't be a noob. I do find Fuji to be somewhat difficult, though, which apparently should make me a noob. So which is it? Am I a noob for finding a more "simple" track difficult? Or am I not one because I have an extremely long and technical course nicknamed the "Green Hell" for a reason down pat? :D

(I know my reply is useless, but I couldn't help myself.)

I'd hardly call the Nurburgring "simple"... :boggled:
Whether someone finds it difficult or not is another matter of course.
As was mentioned earlier in the thread - it highly depends on how much time you've spent learning & practicing a track...
Clearly if you spend hours upon hours at Nurb - it's not going to be any huge mystery to you. :dopey:
I think the sheer length of the Nurb means that it takes longer to learn it.
But as many people spend gobs & gobs more time on that track than a lot of others, also would have to come into the equation.
The tracks I just cant get are:
Rome
Fiji
Motegi
Fiji :D I'm wistfully picturing what that track might look like.
Perhaps there's a swim-up pool refreshment bar.

At any rate... I'm not too keen on Fuji myself. But then I don't happen to drive or race a lot on it, because I don't generally do a lot of racing in cars that would be quite appropriate for that track.
For example, gt4 & gt5 aspec expected you to drive the Vitz on Fuji. The Vitz is not an appropriate car for this track.  :boggled:

I can go through the whole nurb in my head... and it takes me exactly as long as my best lap round in the zonda R as it does in my head... down to the second...

I drive it WAY to much!

Edit: my nurb runner... a detuned 650pp Zonda R... 83, 460 mi

Many do! It's a very popular track! I highly doubt there are any "all Cape Ring Inside all the time" rooms out there like there are all-nurb rooms.
Could you imagine if you joined an online room, and the only track raced is Madrid Mini Reverse. :boggled: :ill:

But if you eventually get bored with Nurb... maybe you'll like this one

Lol very nice... I have to say I do enjoy a little cape ring.. especially with my black f2007.

Nurbring is a hard track to master. But i wouldn't call it the hardest track to actually race on. I mean Its not that its a hard track to drive or race on. Its that its just hard to master every single little turn and section the track has to offer becaue of its size and # of turns.

My vote though..... Cape Ring. Say what u want, i cant drive this track worth crap.

A challenge has appeared how do I make that track? What numbers ?

I wasn't trying to look pretentious or be clever. that was just my thoughts at the time. I didn't insult anyone, I just acted elitist because I was frustrated. Sometimes I forget that GT5 is a great game even if you don't fully take advantage of it's good physics.

I shouldn't have knocked people for being more casual about it, I played GT3, 4, GT PSP, and most of prologue that way too so I should be more understanding of people. I just get frustrated at the fact I can never find a decent public lobby. I shouldn't blame anyone in the community, I should blame PD, and myself for bothering to play something that obviously doesn't suit me as well as it used to. I'm sorry to offend you.

Well my reasoning behind saying the Nordschliefe is that it's the toughest to learn, and even after you learn it, there are still so many corners that can throw you off.

I think people are forgetting what the ring was like when they first started to race on it in GT4 or whatever game you first drove it. You're saying Cape Ring, and honestly i think that's because you're still learning it. It's a new track to the series. We all are learning it still compared to the Ring or some of the other tracks in past GT's. Most people by now have had so much time done on the ring that I think people are forgetting how difficult it really is.

Suzuka. The Nurb I find I'm pretty comfortable on. But I never start a race on Suzuka without a sense of foreboding that's usually confirmed somewhere between Degner I and the exit of Spoon. It's a demanding, exacting piece of asphalt that punishes the slightest instant of inattention or sloppiness.

even back in gt4 i never found it that bad. It was worse than it is in gt5 yes but in gt4 there was another track i could never gt the hand of. I cant remember what it was though, i would have to go back and look. Which i don't have the game anymore.

I just remember i could never remember the name. Apricot Hill mabey? i cant remember XD
