If you check out this link in the car section on the far R/H side 2 columns in thart shows on a scale of 1 to 10 how rare cars are and there only 2 ive seen witha score of 10 and 1 is the Ford GT'02 so thats one of the rarist cars there is.

Since the standard models pop up in the UCD randomly, they should all be equally rare. One might perceive a particular car to be rare prob because he/she wants it so badly - if you don't look for it the car will eventually appear some day, sooner or later.

Sorry Man, but the UCD is NOT random, it is pre-set for which day you are on. I know since I started over a few times and the cars show up on certain days.

Better go check that list again because there are A LOT more than two 10 cars in that database. I have close to 15 myself with a rarity score of 10.

Apart from the DLC stealth and chromeline cars, the Nissan 370Z Tuned Car (GT Academy Version) '09 (but thanks to duping my car isn't ultra-rare -.-)

But of the UCD cars, maybe the LMPs and Group C cars, and the 22B, but they are such wanted cars, so duping strikes again. Otherwise they would be quite rare.

Whilst not for me, I do dig what that site is doing, however these "rarity" scores seem very random to me. I've seen the AC "Cobra" 427 twice and have been playing the game and checking the UCD a looooong time, it might be 3/10 rarity for others but for me it's 9 or 10

Likewise other stuff they consider rare, i've seen many times, though some seem to be accurate (Ford GT 02, NSX Concept etc)

I've been clicking through the license tests (5 times each) for the last 4 hours. I've seen two Bentley Speed 8s, both Pennzoil Nissans JGTC, three Bugattis and four RUF Yellow Birds. But I'm still waiting for a Lotus Carlton '90! I guess GT5 knows which car I'm looking for and doesn't bring it up on the UCD on purpose

You get that car for B-Spec Indy 500 so it isn't too rare. I actually have 2 because I got one for the Level 17 Ticket as well

ah i see i googled it and saw prize car indy 500 but i havent done much b spec. finished indy 500 a spec 3 weeks ago and knew the prize car was an xj13.

Another rare car which came into my mind is the McLaren F1 GTR Race Car '97. I saw it once but had not enough money and since then i never saw it again.

No wonder people think it's random if it's actually that big.
I search for several days none stop cycling to find a Jag XJ220 Race Car. It really is a huge car list.
I'm currently doing the same thing for the Mercedes CLK-GTR Race Car '98 - so elusive.

I too subscribe to mygranturismo.net and for a while i was using it to find what they considered to be rare cars based on 5000 online garages they have -but this seems flawed in that those cars only appear rare because their owners were not interested in buying them perhaps?

The rarest cars are the ones that can only be won, and not through 1000 tickets or level tickets. If it shows up in the UCD it is not rare at all.

Considering rarity can be interpreted in different ways, the rarity ratings on mygranturismo.net isn't really a flaw. The cars can be rare simply by being uncommon in appearance or can also be rare by scarcity of amounts available within a random population.
