Alpha Dog - I was suprised at how good this was. I was also suprised Justin Timberlake was good! I didn't really buy him being all sweary like that, but he proved he could act in the scene near the end. Very good.
8/10

I just saw this for the 1st time. interesting movie... cant really comment much more without spoiling.:ill:

Ocean's 13 - pretty good.. Don't remember half of it though.

Knocked up - Best Movie I've seen since 300. It was great, Tons of laughs from end to end.

The Covenant - Nothing special silly weird film this. I don't know how to describe it.
5/10

Perfume: the story of a killer - This film started off well, then i couldn't really tell as the DVD kept going wrong. But it didn't seem that good.
5/10

just came back from fantastic four: the rise of the silver surfer.
i would give it a 8 out of 10 mainly because of the editting. It was amazing!

Over the Hedge - 8/10 Once again another great animated film and once again this isn't for kids.

Blast From the Past - 8/10 Ya know... I still love this movie after seeing it again. It's like a 90's version of 40 year old Virgin.:dopey::scared: Anyway, it's a great movie. "OMG! My lucky stars! A Negro!" Tommy Henriksen's songs are great too, love his stuff.

Fantastic 4: Silver surfer - Exactly the same as the 1st film (in terms of how it was i mean, not content).
6/10

Vacancy - A watchable enough "horror", with a slightly different story (after a very recognisable start).
7/10

New Police Story - Jackie Chan's best film in ages, possibly ever. Very emotional. Intense fight scenes & amazing stunts. Maybe a little to much crying from Jackie.
8/10

Last night, I watched this terrible movie called "Because I Said So" because my girlfriend wanted to........ 1 Word.. Don't.

0/10.

It was 2 hours of pure torture.

lmfao.gif

btw, if you ever want to end it... just watch The Break Up.

Into The Sun - another STV Seagal film. Not as bad as some, a couple of good fights. But it was just quite boring.
5/10

Taladage Nights - Not as bad as i thought it might be (I never find Will Ferrel films funny). I enjoyed it to a degree, a few LOL moments. Way to long though.
6/10

Pan's Labyrinth - Guillermo del Toro is one of my favorite directors of our time....... and I thought he was Spanish. I didn't know how to spell his name, so I looked it up and I found out that he was Mexican. I guess they produce great film makers there also(Robert Rodriguez!).

Like with all the other films by del Toro, it's bit dark for my taste, but it is just so damn near perfect that I don't care. Another memorable work by the master. "A"

Is Paris Burning? - Little long, but it was better than expected. I don't recall ever seeing a WWII film from the French perspective, so that was refreshing. Does anybody know if Hitler actually did order to have Paris destroyed?

Anyway, it surprised the heck out of me when Kirk Douglas and Robert Stack appeared out of nowhere! "B-"

National Lampoon's European Vacation - It was just as boring as I remembered it. I love Chevy Chase, but I rarely find him funny at all.... "D+"

NO! How could you?!

I love this movie. I watch it whenever it comes on. I thought it had a lot of funny parts. The game show, the British hotel with the 'cheese & snow,' and the raging case of herpes, or the French cuisine, in the fountain, Eric Idol, "Parliament; Big Ben," or the "Oink, oink, my good man." or the "Looking for sex." or the train ride to Italy and etc.

I just don't get it, somehow. If it makes you feel any better, everybody I know fondly remembers this movie. I'm in the extreme minority.

We watched "Fracture" last thursday, my girlfriend didn't like it much but I thought the storyline was original. I enjoy this kind of movie.

Tonight we're going to watch Shrek 3 with my parents. I heard it's not very good but I hope I can laugh a bit anyway.

I saw Shrek 3 opening weekend and I was laughing harder than many of the little kids. I don't see why people are saying it's not any good.

Saw Alpha Dog the other night. Great movie, worth checking out. 👍

Really? I laughed more duiring the Bee Movie trailer.

Maybe it is an age difference thing because there were some girls with senior class shirts sitting next to us that couldn't stop laughing.

I usualy can be confirmed on my thoughts of if a movie is good for the masses or not by whether my wife buys into the hype and still likes it in the end. Even she didn't like this one.

No matter how many people tell me this is actually pretty good I will need many more beers before I knowingly watch a movie with Justin Timberlake in it.

Yeah, a lot of people are saying that, and I was worried about that too, but he actually gives a pretty good performance. I can't believe I'm saying that, but yeah.

Striking Range(Thriller) with Lou Diamand Philips.7/10
Hooligans(Drama).7/10
The Matador(Comedy) with Pierce Brosnam.6/10
Evil Knievel(Action).4/10

I think I only laughed out loud a couple of times during the whole movie. The kids in the theater though were laughing non stop, which I find rather annoying because I think they do that just to show their parents they got the joke, it's doesn't seem spontaneous.

But yeah, the bee movie trailer seemed more interesting. Even my mom who loves Shrek movies admitted this wasn't very good.

The kids and i saw Shrek 3 yesterday. It was hilarious! Love animated films where the adults are also taken into consideration!!
Everyone should watch it!

My wife and I saw Knocked Up this weekend. (8/10)

We really liked it. I thought it was very funny, although it seemed a bit slow to start and his friends were a bit annoying. Once it got into the main story though things were hilarious. Paul Judd really sold this for me as his character was basically in that place between being the guy that goes out and has fun and trying to be a husband and father all at the same time. It was a perfect mix between me wanting to take his side and me wanting to call him names. If you liked 40 Year Old Virgin you will most likely enjoy this. And if you are a young guy that is apprehensive about having kids and/or getting married because you feel like you will be giving up your life have your wife/girlfriend watch this. It portrays that very well and she will hopefully understand.

Of course you run the risk of her being angry that you could feel that way when you are supposed to be so desperately in love with her that nothing else in your life matters (psycho).

Captivity - utter cack. Elisha Cuthbert is the only good thing about this film.
3/10

End Game - a STV film that i have no idea why. It was very good. Good cast/acting. A descent plot. Some damn good action & a pretty good twist.
7/10

Lock Stock & 2 smoking Barrels - I love this film, the more i see it, the more i like it. I still prefer Snatch, but this is brilliant.
8/10

I saw Kicking And Screaming last night. It was pretty funny.
That Starbucks scene was classic. Will Ferrell was classic.
The Matador(Comedy) with Pierce Brosnam.
I liked that one so much, I ended up buying a copy. Brosnan was awesome. 👍

I saw:

Brazil - I swear, this movies gets better everytime I watch it. Terry Gilliam. "A+"

Seraphim Falls - God, I hope I spelled the title right. This is an Western manhunt movie featuring Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan. Showed much promise in the beginning, really slowed down towards the end. It will still make a great rental. Good work, especially on the ending. A generous "B- "

Ghost Rider - It's a piece of crap retread, but I liked it OK for what it was....... It helps to go into it without any expectations. Pretty cool movie(for what it is). An undeserved "C"

Edit:
OK, it wasn't Starbucks.

The Sentinel : Meh. 24 is a better show than this was a movie. Kiefer's character was an idiot. Kim Basinger was horrible, and so was her character. A scanky First Lady. lol

The only cool thing about the movie was the silenced .45 used in it. A Kiefer's character got it wrong; a silencer doesn't slow down a bullet. For the most part, it makes it go faster.

4/10

Let me start by saying that this movie was viewed with 99 ounces of beer flowing through my body. My opinion my have been skewed a tad bit.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer - 7/10
I liked it somewhat better than the first just because I felt like it allowed them to move the story along more without having to introduce the characters and their powers. The action was fun and the jokes seemed funny in my intoxicated state. And The Thing looked better this go around. The Silver Surfer himself looked incredible and was played very well as the reluctant servant.

Now for the bad. Michael Chiklis is the only person in this whole movie that can act and you can't even see the actor himself. Wait, I take that back. Andre Braugher was in this and he could out act the rest of the cast put together. They had good build-up for Galactus and then a huge let down when he/it reaches Earth. Then there was a huge plot hole near the end. And when I say huge, I mean that if you don't get distracted by the action you find yourself during the credits feeling like they forgot to finish part of the story.

Has anyone seen the film Saints and Soldiers? I've seen it for £5 in HMV and I was going to buy it but it's only 85 mins long, so I was kind of unsure if it would be all fast and not enough substance. It's been well praised at film awards, though that doesn't always mean much. So I thought I'd ask here.
