Knocked Up - 9/10
lmfao.gif
So didn't dissappoint! OMFG this is such a ****ing funny ass great movie, it should be a public service announcement video and Educational Birth control video for High School. I would've given it a 10 but there was a bit of "drama" and well I hate that part because I can view it anytime around here if you know what I mean. Anyway, yeah very good movie. Oh man, good to be single.

have your wife/girlfriend watch this. It portrays that very well and she will hopefully understand.

Of course you run the risk of her being angry that you could feel that way when you are supposed to be so desperately in love with her that nothing else in your life matters (psycho).

let me know how that goes (any of you).

If you liked 40 Year Old Virgin you will most likely enjoy this.

Yeah, it's like the sequel to it "the aftermath". All that "good stuff".

Hot Fuzz - First time i didn't think that much to this. But this time, i think as my expectations were alot lower, i really liked it!
It bugs me how bad a shot they are at the end of the film, and it may be a tad to long, but its damn good fun.
7/10

1408- Movie was really great, ending actually felt as if they were setting up a sequel. But that makes no sense.

Is this ultrabeat?

I want to see this movie really bad. Almost went to see it last week. How was the ending? Did you like it?

1408 - Stupidest drivel I've seen in years. Story doesn't go anywhere, the whole thing is dependent on a silly flashback which would be more at home on the Oprah show than in a horror movie. Overall I want my $8 bucks back.

But then again, it might just be me. I've become jaded.
The last movie I saw that was really worth my $$$ was Lords of War...and that was quite a while ago.

IHH

Grrr. I am Matthew Keller. Formerly Monte Carlo, Formerly Formerly MatttheTuner.

Formerly Formerly Formerly known as the Artist formerly known as Prince. :D

Dang, my bad. Sorry guys...... and Matthew. :P You didn't answer my question though. Did you like the ending?

Sorry Agent Smith didn't like it, but last time I checked rottentomatoes, they showed very high approval from both the critics and regular joes/janes.

Just came back from Ratatouille. Astonishing. Only Pixar could take a really stupid movie premise (and believe me, I love rats – I’ve had them as pets), and then turn it into something awesome. I can’t think of a single thing wrong with that film.

My girlfriend wants to see this one too. But I want to watch Ocean's 13 first.

Yeah, we took the family to see that yesterday. As you say, an inane premise, but well executed. Fortunately they avoided truly overplaying the slapstick, though it got a little heavy-handed at times. The animation is incredible, and by that I mean not just the quality of the CGI rendering, but the overall visual design and feel of the movie.

Not quite up to par with The Incredibles as a movie - it would be hard for it to be that good - but not a disappointment in any way. As always when Brad Bird is involved, some of the little characterization details are just fabulous.

Shooter - This one's pretty hard to find at your local Blockbuster. :D I finally got it earlier this week, and it was worth the wait. I usually can't stand the Jerry Bruckheimer-type Hollywood Blockbuster, but I felt this was a good one. Totally unrealistic as you'd expect it to be, but it did almost do everything to at least the average level, characters are interesting, and ultimately, the action's pretty good. I enjoyed it. Danny Glover was really good in this. He kind of went over the top with "I win, you lose!" thing towards the end, but I thought he was an awesome villain. "B"

Apocalypto - God, I hoped I spelled it right. This is one of those movies that you hear from people how good of a movie it is, but you kind of put it off, put it off, because the setting(Maya), theme is little bit different. I got it, because I couldn't find the "Shooter".

This film is damn near perfect. I've seen couple of Mel's films like that Christ movie and Braveheart, but this is the first one I actually really liked. Visual, action, plot, it just looks so authentic, beautiful, exciting. Cast is just awesome, and I didn't recognize a single face! I strongly recommend this movie, unless you mind violences in films. "A"

The Messengers - If you've watched your fair share of horror movies, everything in this movie, you've seen before. It doesn't mess up too bad, but does nothing well either. If you are new to horror flicks, this might be OK. "D+"

Hot Fuzz - 8/10 Great movie but a bit much on the Shaun of the Dead references. There was some funny ass "GTA like" parts toward the end.

"SWAN"!

I'm hoping to catch this in the cheap theater tomorrow. Sounds like I should watch the "Dead" before I do.

I saw Mr. Frost last night, and I have to say that it was the creepiest movie I have seen in a long while. The editting was somewhat poor in spots, and a couple of the characters were somewhat generic, but the movie itself was brilliant. Only a couple of cheap scares throughout the entire movie too, which is a big plus in my book (and when they occurred was lovingly unpredictable), and the movie was also pretty original, I thought. I miss the classic horror film, where things don't jump out at you for scares and the fear builds up subtly, and this film perfectly fits that bill. It makes me think of Silence of the Lambs with only the parts with Hopkins in them, for closest comparison. Jeff Goldblum came across as a perfect antagonist throughout the movie, as well; and his tense dialog throughout the movie works well with his usual demeanor. 9/10.

The Shooter 👎

Stupid movie. Bad plot, hard to follow, huge gaping inaccuracies upon which the movie depended... cool sniper shots though.

What did you expect from a "Bourne Supremacy" like movie with Mark Walberg... :dopey:

Evan Almighty - 9/10 I think I'm just a Steve Carell fan. His movies are always funny and the fact that some of the "stunts" he does for real so he can get real reactions is great. Lauren Graham helps too, I think she's hot. :dopey:

Eh... it's still funny without seeing Dead I think.

I just watched 1408 a Steven King short story brought to the big screen starring John Cussack and Samuel L Jackson which is a story about a writer who's latest book takes him to reported haunted locations to give his opinion on the haunted claims after spending a night there ... this film is great and very tense with great acting by Cussack in probably his best role since Being John Malcovich

It definitely gets 9/10 from me and highly recommended to watch in a room with the curtains shut and all the lights out :sly: .. Great movie

Monty Python and the Holy Grail 5/10 I finally watched it and well... I guess I have to be a UK blok or something? I dunno, I didn't find it funny. Just a movie that ironically went no where... : puts on UK/Monty Python and the Holy Grail fan flame suit :

Hot Fuzz - Man, it was way more violent than I thought! AND I kept my rep as the movie expert who always picks mediocre to poor flicks to watch. :sly: I liked it a lot, personally. But there just wasn't enough laugh for people who haven't seen or liked "Shaun on the Dead", I guess. I'd give it a (might be biased)"B", and yes, I'd be getting it on DVD.

P.S. My next pick for us is the "1408", but I know(?) that one's going to be good!

Edit:
I'm not the biggest fan of the Holy Grail either. I love John Cleese and Terry Gilliam though. Michael Palin too.

Well, after getting my PS3, my wife getting a new puppy, and trying to rewatch the Die Hard Trilogy before seeing the new one I finally got around to the two Netflix movies sitting on my TV for WAY too long. Thank God for no late fees. And I also made a theater visit too.

Harold and Kumar go to White Castle - 6/10
Yep, it's old but I hadn't seen it yet. Maybe I need to be a stoner to get a lot of this, but it made me laugh in some places. The main goal was achieved though, I have been craving White Castle ever since.

Employee of the Month - 8/10
I like Dane Cook, but I hate Jessica Simpson, so I was torn. Jessica Simpson had little to do with the movie, other than to be a character at the center of the plot, but not the story. Having worked for Sam's Club during college everything rang home. I never saw a place where you could find a million ways to not work and no one noticed, or cared. Just like watching The Office or Office Space makes me laugh this did too. Plus, when I was in college I was trying to work jobs with the least responsibility possible, so Dane Cook's character definitely made me think of myself. If you like Dane Cook's sarcastic humor or have ever worked a warehouse club job check this out. If you want something more intelligent move along.

Evan Almighty - 7.5/10
Meh. It had it's moments, but it wasn't Bruce. Steve Carrell is good, but they could have made it Michael Scott (The Office) Almighty and I wouldn't have flinched. I know he can play a different character because he did so in 40 Year-Old Virgin. Maybe I partly didn't get into it because of the entire environmental message that was initially pushed, but then suddenly dropped for an Acts of Random Kindness message. Can I get a movie without political pressure, please?

If you haven't seen it, check out Identity.

It takes a certain type, especially in America. Perhaps the styles of humor are just different, but I prefer British comedies over American any day, and I am American.

Brokeback Mountain - 6.5/10
Lords Of Dogtown - 7.5/10
Journey To The End Of The night - 6/10
Saving Private Ryan - 8.5/10
Ring Around The Rosie - 7/10
Saw II - 7/10
10th & Wolf - 7/10

Transformers - 9/10 - Everything was great about it and was a very entertaining movie throughout the film, the action was intense and awesome. Why not 10 because starscream (the F-22 Raptor transformer)... had no conclusion as to what happened to him. The last time they showed him he was chasing real F-22s.

A scanner darkly - really good/strange film. Although the end twist was a tad obvious, and it out stayed its welcome a bit.
7/10

The prestige - didn't work as well second time, but there are some clever bits you notice when you know the "twists".
7/10

Apocalypto - 9/10 I was a little apprehensive about seeing this, a little apprehensive in the beginning and a little apprehensive about watching this ever again. It was a great movie fast paced action, action and action movie. The title didn't seem to fit the movie but it was some epic ****. A shocking movie in a way and not one I'd want to see from the start but since I did I enjoyed it. Toward the end was kinda lame though so that's what made me knock it down. I gotta go take a nap now or something... throw on some cartoons.

edit: Those guys could've been a little bit more careful too... someone could get aids. :dopey:

Children of Men - Good movie but I was hoping for a better ending.

Pan's Labyrinth - A bit strange, much more explicit than I thought it would be, but I liked it.

1408 - 5/10 - Call me weak but scary movies scare me easily but it looked like such a good movie from it's preview I'd try it out and i'll tell you I didn't get scared once. It had it's moments but really wasn't that great.
