What?

Tell me more about that derogatory term though. Is it noob, whiner, chicken? Made me curious!

Click on the link to the book Playing To Win that I gave. Intermediate's Guide, part 1. It's only about a page long, and while other people use the term in different ways, among people talking about competitive gaming it's a term used to describe someone who artificially hobbles themselves with self-imposed rules, thereby not trying as hard to win as they could be.

This is what you're doing by coming up with the arbitrary reasons for not using racing moves that are, by every technical definition, completely fair.

GT is the only game I've bought since the ATARI 2600's cartridges. I kid you not. It's a guaranteed purchase for me.

I wanna be blown away by the graphics 'though, and please, for the love of God, cardboard-cutout trees be gone... finally!

The fact that Bathurst managed to ditch the cutouts suggests to me that this bane of mine will finally be exorcised. Yay!

Have you actually tried driving with a controller in any PC sim? I have. Even with aids, it's damn impossible and feels horrible to boot.

It all depends on how good the devs are at setting up the default controller profile. PD are IMO the best in the business at that whereas SMS for instance have always struggled. I think PD could make a sim + aids with controller work.

Basically this. Controller implementation is key, PD have always excelled in that area and I doubt sims put as much effort into it. As far as I know, they are also the only franchise that has an SRF type of drivers aid but I could be wrong.

Adding to what @Samus and @Johnnypenso: great physics and solid controller implementation are not mutually exclusive. It just means the developer needs to take care of all input methods.

SMS approached it poorly IMO, leaving it up to players to trial and error their way to something passable. DriveClub feels instantly familiar, even though I've personally been thrown off by how cars respond at the threshold.

For me, Forza pips GT for controller optimization (no doubt thanks to a controller that suits driving games better, with the long-travel shoulder triggers with brilliant rumble support), after regularly switching between the two since we kicked off TOTW here. However, GT has the better wheel implementation, even with something as old as a DFP. Both are equally important: the wheel for the hardcore players, the controller for the masses.

Should be interesting to see how PD works with the DS4.

I really hope SRF is dropped in place of assists that don't change the fundamental physics (especially in a patently unrealistic way).

That's overstating it. Without aids it's possible but incredibly unforgiving. You have to be pretty good with a controller in racing games already to try it.

With aids it's absolutely possible, and more or less difficult depending on how the aids and controller filtering (if any) works.

Or you can always try the standard solution to racing games being undriveable: Just drive slower. ;)

I guess that depends on how precise you are with your inputs.
I play rFactor with a Xbox360 controller, low abs, everything else off, manual transmission, I can control the cars just fine.

For me to buy it first off it needs better physics. I only drift on gt and the physics suck gt5 had a lot better physics that gt6 imo . but I'd prefer physics more like asset to corsa. Second I'd like a properly working clutch not this only shift below 3000 revs bs. And number 3 for.me although I'm.positive this won't be an issue is graphics. Graphics are every thing to a games immersion but gt has never let me down graphics wise so I'm sure the graphics at least will be spot on.

More customization being able to paint your car in a classic race car ie like a Dodge charger into the kings 43 or the classic gt 40 with the Shelby America colours or the classic gulf paint job.

Car designer cars ie count customs, gas monkey, Foose, Coddington, year one , Shelby, Yango, roush.

Customize your garage look.

More aftermarket parts or high end OEM parts

Same.

The lack of a PS5 anywhere is the only thing stopping me from getting GT7.

Not buying a nearly outdated PS4 for one game.

Agreed. Even if I wanted to buy new PS4 here in Finland to play GT7 is next to impossible. Used PS4's are waaay too highly priced, atleast on the region I live in. Used PS5's prices start from 700€ :odd: Not gonna happen even how much I love GT franchise.
