It would also disappoint me to hear fanboy whine and cry about Forza 3 when it comes out here on GTP and say "We are much better than you" without having played GT5 and vice versa

I am a huge GT fan and will buy GT5 - i've bought the PS3 just for GT5... years ago:)

...but tommorow i will get another console...yup an xbox, for the impending Forza release. As a car enthusiast, i am excited about what turn10 has shown and since PD seems to be going in a direction of perfecting what they have, i'm assuming no livery editor and exciting customization...and sound still not as good as it could be.

They are both seem to be 'differnt' games, yet both have great appeal to me....so 2 consoles it is.....and credit card payments:ill:

my answer to the thread question:

sound
customization
livery editor ( sounds immature somehow - but i cant resist the thought of creating Gulf livery etc.)

Wow! A thread that finds flaws in a video game before anyone has seen or played.

I think it's fairly simple. What would you find dissapointing in GT5 if it appeared or not?

What makes you say "Wow!"? It's much better than other threads.

Actually what we have is a person who finds flaws in a thread before reading the subject. :sly:

Again guys, please leave the hateration out of this, if you have something to add, please do, if not, please respect what other people think and just move on.

Nice job on the word "hateration". I'll add it to my vocab.👍

I do not care if all the cars do not have cockpit view; Ive lived 10 years without it. cool feature but I will live
I do not care about damage; it's a neat concept but I understand a 1000 cars is a lot to apply damage models to.

One thing I think that matters most to me is that I would really like to have tire marks on the ground.

I would be dissapointed...

..if there is still the rubberband-effect
..if the draft is still too excessive
..if the chase view wont be improved
..if there are still no weather, sunlight/shadows, sky-color changes
..if there are less than 16 cars on some of the tracks
..if there were no pit-stops during races
..if the pit-stops of the AI opponent cars still take much longer than my own
..if the AI wont be dramatically improved
..if the surroundings of tracks wont be improved to a more "living-world"
..if I am still able to calculate my gap on the AI-opponents for a 99 lap race in advance
..if there wont be mechanical-failures happening
..if the fastest/most-powerful car still starts a race from the back of the grid
..if the AI still hits me while I stand on a straight

A livery editor is important to me, seeing as its been promised by KY as being in GT5 since the beginning for it to not show up at all or have serious limitations would be a real let down for me.

Its not even that hard to implement, nearly all other racing games, small and large have livery editing.

And learn to not double post just to be heard. 👎

As I've said earlier, my disappointments would be the same as pretty much everyone else, but the one constant, perhaps the one "true" disappointment would have to be time. Any feature that is either lessened, removed, or even retconned will always come back to "I waited this long for x and y, and x and y wasn't even included."

It's more of a 🤬 storm than I'm sure most are aware of, it's pretty much like a movie that's been in development hell for several years and once it's released and if doesn't live up to the more than long-awaited hype it's miss, and more miss from thereon out.

I think they did an ok job with turbo sound in GT2 and 3, but changed it in GT4 which is dumb down sound (not really, because you can't even hear it outside your car).

Anyway, I agree, they should upgrade the turbo sound in GT5. The Blitz ER34 in prologue sounds nothing like the real thing, it has a huge turbo, but in prologue it sounds like a stock turbo. Well i got a lot on my list, but i don't think this is the time for that, I'll wait for TGS.

YES! I taught the same thing when I got that Blitz ER34. Really doesn't sound like the real one at all. I could go on and on with the car noises but people here don't wanna read that :)

Well I figure I oughta add my two cents :)

Biggest for me is AI and Damage. They are kind of a hand in hand sort of thing so I would be dissapointed if GT5 hasn't addressed the longstanding AI issues and if they haven't done a good job with the damage. Both are critical to an emersive racing experience for me.

I will be dissapointed if online isn't done solidly and in depth. Smooth netcode with easy to access lobbies and lots of customizeability I think are both necessary.

Lack of tracks would be a biggie... I can't really believe 20 tracks, but I gotta say it's got me worried... I would be dissapointed if PD didn't put that 25GB BR disc to good use.

Similarly I would be dissapointed if WRC and NASCAR didn't get the proper attention especilally in track count.

Lack of interesting and good cars. With 1000 cars it is hard to imagine, but I would be dissapointed if a lot of them are duplicate skylines and incredibly similar NASCAR cars.

I would be dissapointed if there is no...

1) Skid Marks while locking up wheels & spinning.
2) Turn off "hud" mode
3) Cockpit view for all cars
4) Weather & Day / Night Racing
5) Ferrari F50 / Lamborghini Diablo SV / Mclaren F1
6) Destruction Derby mode :sly: hehe

it would be too bad if they dont include some kind of punter control. maybe something like a "points on the licence" thing. you loose points for contact, spinning, going off track ect, and when you get to a certain level your cars ghosts quicker. or you only race with those of similer points.

I've always thought that people who worried about not all GT 5 cars having their interiors modeled were crazy, but then I noticed in Prologue that the GT-R 05 Proto... doesn't have an interior. No cockpit view.

This has me a little worried:nervous:

i'd be disappointed.. IF there isn't ..
the possibility to make LOCAL LAN :dopey: RACES (out of PSN)
i.e. 20 TV's and 20 PS3 ..in the same room ...

I told this because my BOARD often makes
this type of GT-meeting and they're very very Fun !!

Try and Say 👍

For me... The lack of additional Buick Regal models WILL be a disappointment. Not a "popular" car I know, but it IS the reason I went from occasional game play with a controller on GT2 & GT3 to far more game time and getting, as well as upgrading, Race Wheels. While I enjoy my GNX in GT4, and while I respect the accurate representation in terms of limitations (Black only, ride height, etc) included in the model as well as the fantastic additions (6 speed manual, Stage 4 turbo, etc...), I would really like to see some T-Types (Or Tubo T's as they later became known) so that we can have T-Top versions in a variety of colors. I'd also like to see the X-Ray (1 of a kind GNX) as well as some of the monstrously modified incarnations such as Chow Lee's 1000hp Twin Turbo V8 Grand National. :) How about the NASCAR flavor of the vehicle? The naturally aspirated versions would be welcomed too. :-)

I'm fairly certain nothing remotely resembling the above "desire" will be in the game, and as such I wont be immediately disappointed. However, over the long term, I will be as I tend to stick to using this car for just about everything. I will be immensely surprised if they include any of the above and completely and utterly devastated if the GNX is no longer in the series.

Hateration, not from me. I have never been disappointed with any GT game. Never. Kaz can do no wrong. Has anyone read about how he began his career, that is what I call Loveration.
How can anyone be disappointed with this system, it works well, racing drivers have testified and said 'it is good'. Is there a racing driver here who may be in hateration? Twelve wonderful years I have been playing Gran Turismo, never been disappointed, I am not alone in my Opinion. I have to accept that people look to find fault, I acknowledge their pursuit for their ideal. If Gran Turismo never existed, then what? Life is too short to start being disappointed in one man's career.
Has Kazonori done well. I think most people would say yes.
Is anyone disappointed in his pursuit for a real driving experience onto a display unit?
Sorry for the double post.

There's always a first time for everything, SpawnBlack. ;)

Anyways, I don't believe you wouldn't find anything dissapointing in GT5. If the game had only one car, terrible physics and graphics, I bet you would find that dissapointing.

The point of the thread is to express what would we find dissapointing in GT5. Saying what you just said makes it look like you are kissing Kaz's 🤬. Not exactly a bad thing for some people, but it does avoid the point of the thread...

I have to agree Spawn, we all need reminding sometimes that we should take a step back, be thankful for GT and Kaz, and not get upset about a game.

I think for me small things can disappoint because I like the games so much. I guess it's a bit like getting a fantastic car, but you can't adjust the seat to a driving position you like, or you can't get it in a colour you like, or with a manual gearbox. I wouldn't care if I didn't like the rest of it so much, you know?

Problem is that, at first, people were all like "I want this, this, this, and maybe that". Now, getting closer to the release date, they say "It doesn't matter how does the game comes out, it will be great for sure". It says much, like with every other game.

Get a ScionTC... drive it for 6 months, then tell me that a great car for cheap can't be ruined by a seat you can't quite adjust right... trust me on this one :sly:

Disappointed that I'm not disappointed. This website is for Opinion on a game I have loveration for. The owners of this website must have. I have signed up to make my Opinion and I stick by it. I'm not disappointed with the trees nor anyone's Opinion. GT5 is what it is. People have contributed to GT5 and Kazonori listened. It is still his decision and vision for everyone. To be disappointed at GT5 is to be disappointed at Kazonori. Comprende.
I noticed Codename L list, WOW.
How about this Codename L ....GT5 to be cancelled.
