What would YOU find dissapointing in GT5?

I'd be dissappointed if:

-Sound is STILL the same for tires & the V8 cars.
-There is no full-on "racing conversion" for the cars' body. And I want to maintain the colour I bought the car in.

That's it. I'm easy to please :sly:

The only thing would be waiting 3 weeks longer than the US.
But other than that.. I have enormous confidence in PD.

So I see a lot of people talking about GT5 and for the most part, potential negative aspects are discussed in a fairly guarded manner with qualifiers such as "but I am sure GT will be an awesome game and I know PD will deliver!" as if failure to say such things might anger the GT Gods or something and bring some kind of personal hatred against the poster...

But let's be logical here, no game is perfect, GT5 won't be perfect and we all know that. It's not even reasonable to expect a game to be perfect.

So while we are being honest with ourselves here, I suggest we try something to take some of the heat and defensiveness out of the forum. How about honestly say what you currently feel would dissapoint you if it's not in GT5.

No need to say how sure you are that it will be there, no need to praise how great and awesome GT or PD are, and please don't make it a comparison against anything else. Just a statement of what you think might be in GT5 that you wouldn't want or won't be in GT5 that you would want. What would dissapoint you?

We have wish lists and expectations posts galore, let's just get this one out there honestly and openly so it's not the elephant in the room.

So what do you think? AI? Damage? Weather? Birds in the trees or how many colors of shirts the crowd might wear?

Oh and please be respectful of peoples opinions, trivial as it may be, if it might dissapoint someone, then that's not really for anyone else to judge...

I am sure that overall I will like GT5 game.

The big GT5 feature disappointments for me would be if the following were not included:
1) No race configurability (unable to choose AI cars and AI setting)
2) No option to choose AIs and AI cars in online racing to fill out a grid
3) Not having a good racing AI (at least in my hands the GT5P AI is fair to poor).

That we get it 3 weeks later in Europe, that pisses me really off... The most important market here but Sony still don´t understands this and treats the people in the EU like....

We get everything later, demos, games, psn games...

Be grateful you dont live in Australia. A used copy of CoD: MW2 goes for 80 american dollars here...

Plus we are generally last when it comes to releases. And not just games either. I bought some Armani cologne in America over a year ago and it still hasn't been released in Australia.

You're lucky you live in Europe.

I'll be gutted if midfield raceway and apricot hill and more not premium tracks and just upscaled from GT4.

Also if it really is just 20 tracks are PS3 quality. We already know most of them and possibly the new tracks have taken priority.

Guys, don't ask for to much, you don't want it to be delayed do you? All I want is the 'ring and La Sarthe at night.

I know what you're saying but I honestly don't believe that it's asking too much. They have been working towards this title for 6 years (on and off), and we now have the news that the content is not as epic as we thought it might be (in terms of quantity).

I can live with fairly low quantity, as long as there's a good reason:

ie. 20 tracks in 6 years = :indiff: seems like very few.... but they all have working weather and daylight cycles, which was very hard to do = wow, good job  I understand, great decision.

Likewise, 200 finished cars = :ouch:... but this has allowed us to introduce for the first time a livery editor and brilliant customisation system =:drool: Bravo!!

However, if we find that 200 cars and 20 tracks have been exquisitely detailed to an insane level just for the sake of it, and consequently, day/night, livery editor, weather "weren't possible", I'll be disappointed.

It's 20+ locations I can't stress that enough. 40+ has also been said once but it's not much confirmation so we're left with at leas 21 locations. Location being for instance El Capitán with the Cathedral rocks rally tracks as variations of which we'll have 70+ in total.

My only disappointment is if both the standard and premium cars aren't properly implemented into GT/Career mode.

There are a lot of cars I want to see side-by-side, IE a full 16 grid race with the Le Mans cars from GT4 and the new ones in 5.

But the one thing that will most probably disappoint me more than that are the absence of custom races, you know being able to choose from a myriad of options like number of cars, AI difficulty, weather, damage levels etc.
Still previous racing games I've played have'nt had anything close to that (apart form the event generator in GT2), can't miss what you've never had :sly:

So what you are saying is, no you don't have anything to contribute to the thread...

Considering I mentioned the only thing I would find disappointing in GT5, I would say I contributed to this thread.

Speaking of contributions...

If we were to follow your logic you have in place for me and apply to yourself, there would be little reason for you to be here.

You really don't have anything to contribute to GTPlanet. That is, unless you count throwing rocks into a pond with your "circle jerk emo threads"..:dunce:

Contributing things you don't like or might find negative does not equate to not contributing to the forum. It's amazing how useless you are in trying to convey how useless you feel I am...

He conveyed it pretty well, I thought.

I'll be dissaponted in myself if I find Suzuka, London, HSR, Eiger, Fuji, and Daytona mind-numbingly boring in the full GT5 considering I've done tons of laps around them in Prologue.

Oh, and if all 1,000 cars don't have some form of interior, even if it is just a generic one for all 800+ of the standard cars. 👎

1. Crappy physics
2. Crappy AI
3. No GT mode a la GTPSP
4. Lack of F1 cars in the game
5. No weather

Those are really the only things that would actually fall into the category of disappointment for me.

I'm gonna be disappointed in GT5 if it doesn't have skidmark.......not.

But seriously, I'm more bothered about the sound and online than A.I..

I will have to agree on all of that, I really would, but the LAST thing anybody wants is another terrible delay 👎

Actually, wait, do you all agree that High Speed ring, London, etc. From GT5P should be thrown out for better stuff we have not played yet!? I just want to keep Suzuka, and Fuji. I would love to see something completely new! I would seriously hate playing High Speed Ring again it would feel exactly like prologue, and thats not what I want.

Frankly, I want all the tracks from ALL Gran Turismos, even if they have to render some of them in Standard form.

I disagree though, without the bad rolling start on those two tracks from prologue, it would be one of the best tracks. HSR is very good when it comes to race cars event or F1 (with fix slip stream and standing start) and London will be good for stock cars or low powered cars. It will be a lot of fun if they just use standing start than rolling start on those two track, even on standard physics, beginners event, or intermediate event. The only reason why I never race on those tracks on GT5 prologue online or offline anymore are because of those issue. I hope they fix it especially the slipstream problem.

I see where you coming from.
Must suck more not having the power to resist.

Care to explain? Resist what?! The thing i will never use? Not even to see how it works. A racing sim like GT should never use that kind thing. SIM says it all.

I have never understood the rewind haters... to me it's like hating that standard mode physics are in the game... if you don't like it, don't do it...

I have never once eaten a piece of poop because I have no desire to... if I hated the idea of rewind so much I have no idea why I would ever try it.
