As per request, one copy of a #26 number plate for an argentinian GT-R

In other (in my eyes double-post-worthy) news, I have just learnt how to change the color of a drivers suit, so if anyone wants something more fancy than a default white, information has been added to the list of customisables. Same rules here as for everything else: once the car is done and sent, you can request changes and I'll show you.

I might also need a tiny bit of help from some of you guys. If you have notepad and can follow simple instructions (maybe even have the game to see for yourself if what you're doing is right) and, above all else, is willing to give a helping hand, let me know :)

I'll be sending you my whole file, so I already have everything set. :D

Not sure what I can do, but if needed I can try at least.

Maybe it's easier to just put it here for everyone to see.

Basically I need somebody to help me finish off some grid related issues we'll be having if we use rolling starts.

Thing is, on most tracks, pole position is towards the outside of the first corner, but that's kinda troublesome when rolling starts don't really put the guy in 2nd a few meters behind pole (in some cases it even puts 2nd ahead of 1st, in cases where 2nd is on the inside of the final corner and the game fails to detect this). Of course, that's not really fair, so we're left with three choices:

1: Keep it as it is and live with it (it is kind of an endurance series anyway, so it's likely not going to matter too much)
2: Fix the grids to put 1st on the inside of the first corner
3: Go back to standing starts where everything already works as it should but perhaps have slightly more lag at the start of the race

I say just deal with it as it is, Porsche has proven to us many times in WEC that pole doesn't mean much.

I'll go for option 1 as well, because you know what they say;

"It's not how you start, it's how you finish"...
It's an endurance series after all, so the time loss at the start might be a minor nuissance at best.

True, true.

I guess unless there's any vetos within two weeks (as I hope to do Monza in a little less than three), we'll just deal with it.

Also the final two tracks will be revealed later today, any good guesses? :D

You know I can't guess worth a spit, Freddy boy, haha. Well, I'll just bet on one European track and one American track and leave it at that, 'cause I know the rest will be way too difficult for me to guess...

I'll give one away now, actually. It's, well, maybe not that unexpected since it's somewhat synonymous with a category of cars very similar to these:

It is, of course, the return of Circuit de la Sarthe, making it only the second (with Spa being the first) circuit to hold a championship race for more than one season (Rotten Egg Rally and Monza aren't part of the actual championship this season).

That leaves one track to be revealed, and I'll leave a little hint as to what track it is: Some say it's a european version of Laguna Seca before the lake dried out, and that each lap is essentially a game of Russian Roulette with tyre barriers (in the past and in GTR2, at least. Until someone figured that to be suicide and instead made gravel traps).

Literally every single person to have played GTR2, driven this track in any game or seen videos of it will instantly recognise that description :D

It's Enna Pergusa! It has to be Enna Pergusa; no other track could quite murder me in GTR2 like the Italian track ladden with tire barriers within its chicanes... One slip up and the entire field would crash in unison afterwards, it was both relentless and dangerous.

Either that or I just missed horribly yet again, one of the two.

Well..

GTR2_2015_10_18_15_00_02_209.jpg

Something like this can only really happen at one place..

..which perfectly leads on to the ballast and points systems. There will be a ballast handicap system in place, although handicaps will either be reduced or disregarded at Spa. This also means there'll be a change in the points system to make extra points worth the extra ballast. That, and I hope to introduce a drop score system where a cars two worst results are dropped. Both systems are currently being finalised and should be ready around the time of the Monza race.

Yay, I was right for a change! Good to know, but then again it is as you said; not many tracks in GTR2 galore can destroy front ends quite like Enna Pergusa and its dangerous tire barriers.

Also, the ballast system will indeed become a thing... I do wonder how will it work within the series' regulations, and what will change in the points' standings, but I bet you have written the plans for those far beforehand. And the drop score system should also shake thing up, providing top drivers with a chance of losing two terrible results in favor of a more consistent points average. Monza will be an interesting start of a new era, that's for sure...

Right, I now have 6 primaries in my possession, 2 of which have minor revisions to go through (they know who they are).

I should perhaps also clear some potential confusion: for the time being, Monza (and potentially Spa) is the only event I plan to livestream, the simple reason being that my schedule is wildly irregular as it is nevermind having to spend a few hours every week (in my parents' eyes) blabbering to myself, raising unnecessary questions about anything between heaven and Earth, not to mention that the general way things work at home don't exactly go well with livestreaming. I can livestream all races if wished, although that'd leave a 2 week gap between each event.

Ball's in the air again. Wonder where it'll drop this time.

Sorry for the double post. However, big news!

RTi Team NZ Announcment

RTi had a special press conference at their circuit base of operations today and blew the doors off with a full reveal of the plans for this season. The team has made yet another car switch, this time from Mclaren to Mercedes-Benz and the SLS AMG. Furthermore, they have changed drivers and car number. "Andrew Gleeson was a fantastic interim driver for us, however he was busy with commitments in the New Zealand Rally Championship and thus, is unable to fulfill his race driving duties for us," commented team boss Amelia Neild "this has given us a chance to see who else was on the market for a drive and we have scooped up French ace Sebastian Devereux. He brings a wealth of experience in everything from Indycars to Nascar and everything in between. We are stoked to have him onboard as we gun for the world championship!" Regarding the number change from #67 to #2, Jamie was fairly relaxed laughing as she made this comment, "yeah, 2 is the number that I played a lot of my ice hockey in, so it seemed appropriate to continue the use of this number. We'll see if we can score more points racing with this number than I did on the ice. I spent a lot of time in the penalty box for fighting!" *laughter from Jamie, Amelia shakes head*
The day finished up with the family run team displaying the livery for the #2 car. "It may seem like there are a lot of sponsor decals, however, we got smaller amounts from each company, so believe it or not, we are running on a fairly tight budget here," commented Amelia "that being said we do have the money to put together a 2nd car for someone interested in running the #67 SLS, otherwise we will strip it for parts and sell the chassis"

Might be that Dodge Copperhead concept car from GT1 and GT2, can't think of any other snake cars from Chrysler.....

I love how the entry list for this series reads exactly the opposite of most real life GT3 series. There's seemingly always a zillion Porsches and GT-Rs, a good chunk of SLS's, and McLaren's. But here in the world of fun, games, fantasy, and AI the two biggest car entries belong to the Ford GT and Viper GT3, and there's one Porsche.

Puchino Nismo Racing
Today the argentine team presented the car for its first season in the series in the centre of the Le Mans town where the public stood close to the drivers and the machine, the only registered Nissan in the season so far.
WTCC champion, José María Lopez showed enthusiasm, but remarked that the team still needs work to do to fight in the front. "Our goal is to gather data throughout the races. Total car performance might be not enough, so we have to look into the future"

List has been updated, and we have the first spec adjustments of the season!

- Ford GT has had a slight power reduction (its overpoweredness was rivalling that of the BMW last season..)
- Nissan has been on a diet because it weighs as much as a tank. Also it had a slight power increase.
- Z4's also had an increase in power.

Hopefully, I've fixed more than I've broken for once

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

@Niku Driver HC knows ;)

Hey, I know that Niku HC guy, good chap. He has an Alpine VGT scale model and everything, and last time I checked he was recently spotted with a snake or two...

(3rd person talking, the best way to stroke your ego.)

Also, wow @G_Parrilla, that Photoshop is quite the impressive feat, color me impressed. You managed to sneak in a real-life driver and everything! 👍

I remember reading somewhere in the mod description on EEC forums that every car and talent file is made to be as even as possible. Are you sure that those cars reeeeeeally need to be fixed?

The first thing I do after installing a mod is delete the talent files. That gets rid of the unpredictable human element. Not sure if that would mess everything up in GTR2, though.

Let me just say it like this:

- The only thing the Fords couldn't overtake on the straights was another Ford. And it's not like they're noticably horrible in corners or anything.
- The Nissan is the direct opposite. Pretty much everything would leave it in the dust pretty much everywhere.

There will be a lot of tests, though, to see what yields the best results.
