STARtec Driver Roster all lined up!
LOS ANGELES, CA - STARtec is devoted on being the most controversial team in the league, as they have been reportedly testing a modified B6 chassis at Willow Springs, and now they aim to have 4 drivers all under the age of 21!
It was rumored that the 1st and 2nd driver for the 8 car would be Rhys Millen himself and former NASCAR star, Bobby LaBonte. However, this was not the case at all. LaBonte denied rumors of participating, as he insisted on taking a break from motorsports. Millen also said later that he did not have plans to race, as he said it "would be a waste of a seat for me to not allow a new talent occupy it."
This new talent came to be Shinka Nibutani and Yuki Nagato for the #4 car, an already controversial decision, as both drivers are under the age of 18, even.
"..." Said Nagato.
"We will face some adversity." Said Nibutani in an ESPN interview. "But screw them! We're damn good and we know it!"
The #8 car pushes the limit even further.
Drivers Haruhi Suzumiya and Fuko Ibuki will make the line up completely Japanese-and all under 18 years of age.
"We're pushing for driver development." Stated team director for the #8 car, Memo Rojas. "We're in it for the long haul, but I believe we have some budding talent regardless."
"It's not stupid." Said a STARtec representative. "It's daring!"
"Uh, yeah, that's dumb." Said Nibutani. "They kept telling us that the #8 car would serve as reference for us, so I thought they would hire people with experience. This is new to me... but... err... yeah. We can do this. I think."
