New fuel system in place for GT3 World Series
Monza, Italy
Ahead of this months' special live-streamed race at Monza, Italy, the organisers of the GT3 World Series seem to have revealed part of their ambitious plans to decrease the amount of time spent in the pits. The best part? They claim it's working already!
"Last season we took the step to introduce MaGiC engine control units and exhaust system to all cars to balance fuel consumption between the different cars. This season, we're taking it one step further" it says in a statement just released.
"The guys at MaGiC have developed a brand new system capable of increasing fuel mileage to about 10 km/l (23,5 miles per US gallon) on all cars - between 4 and 8 times more efficient than the standard systems!"
It also says, however, that the system is not perfect:
"There are a few variations from one car to another, but generally the mileage has skyrocketed"
"These cars are almost as environment-friendly as a Prius!"
To go with these changes, according to the statement, the size of the fuel tanks have been decreased to 25%, thus making the cars lighter.
