I understand that some people might want to paint cars in matte paint but the craze for this type of paint seems mind boggling...no offense to anyone after matte paints...just trying to understand it...

  • is it because its rare?
  • More people love matte colors than i previously thought? (car makers should act on this!)
  • easy way to get great cars for paint due to its high demand?
  • it's pretty?
anyone have any insight on the matter?

1. i think its because they are somewhat rare, and you can only get a color by unlocking it which is a pain...

2. also car color is pretty big deal because its the only way we can change the look of are car to make it our own,( no vinyl or decals )

3. #2 is so hard because because the unique colors are hard to get > #1

For me, it's looks first, rarity second.

I do think that matte paint looks waaaay better in real life though.
Saw a matte blue Nissan GTR 2 days ago, and a matte black SL55 last week which looked awesome.

I am keeping all mine for when i find that special car that will look perfect in matte. i have traded away a few bad matte's though and they make great fodder

2. Agreed, esp for standard cars (no new rims)...not many options when making cars original...lets hope for more options for GT6...

because they rock?

As there isnt way to be individual (decals ect) paints are the best way and as mattes are rareish thats why people pay a premium!
