Yea i am not bothering to do it i almost took second on the second track for me to make my first mistake taking that fast left hander making my lap invalid. So i am 100 in south. I think im just going to buy a wheel though

So ... Does anyone know how many total entries there are so far? I would hate to post my rank unless I am about 50th percentile. Let's just say I know for sure there are at least 5100 people who have posted a time.

Just checked and I am currently:

Midwest- #122

Overall- #582

I need to hit Cape hard and try and loose as much time as possible. My current fastest time is a hair over 6 seconds slower. Only about 1.5 seconds off the top time on Tsukuba and Rome.

Just went from 111 to 75 in the West. Put in a 2:49 on Cape Ring. I'm also getting my wheel later today so I will need to start getting used to that. Who knows how long that will take.

Tsukuba - 1:05.510 (15th)
Rome - 1:21.961 (12th)
Cape Ring - 2:48.168 (20th)

Overall - 5:15.639 (15th in Western Region)

Ranked 51st in USA.

5th in the West and 20th overall. I tried like a mofo on the last day to improve my cape ring time to try to get into 5th place overall to get a wheel. I failed, lol.

Well done sir (or ma'am). We're nearly dead even at the cape. I hope to find the couple extra tenths at Tsukuba and need to spend more time at Rome.

There is more time to be gained at the cape then the other 2 tracks. If you are worried about not making it to the top 128 concentrate on the cape for a while.

I'm faster than the 10th place time at Rome, I just need to figure out how he get's through the first turn so well and I've got him. 👍

I'm going to concentrate on that track tonight. I'm in the top 20, so I think even if I stopped completely there's a good chance I'll make the 128 cut-off pretty easily.

Yeah, I am 10th in my region and I would hope that I wouldn't get kicked 108 places. That said I know there a few ringers that haven't showed up yet, CarlPky, Z06fun are a couple that come to mind.

Yes, and TimeAttack hasn't even put together a full entry yet... Hopefully these guys aren't in the Northeast to even the field out a bit...

I dropped to 9th now, but last night I was 7th in the US and only 5th in the Northeast. Still 3 of the top 4 times are from the Northeast.

When I last looked I was 61st in my region. Haven't tried it in a few days, but people's times on Cape are crazy.

1st in the midwest. I believe 2nd nationally by like .012 or something like that.

Dude, I'd love to know your set up. What kind of wheel/pedals/stand ect. I'm like 35ish in your region. I switched to a wheel yesterday and I'm having a lot of trouble getting used to it. Any tips?

My setup is a g27 with a playseat, with custom foot rest and shifter mount in front of a 52'' panasonic plasma with a 7.1 Onkyo surround sound system.

It look like this:

Moved up to 73 in the Southeast. Up from 86 yesterday. Funny thing is, I improved my Tsukuba and Rome time but not my Cape Ring. Still think I have a second or two to improve there.

Speaking of Rome Choate51 I'm finally gaining some ground. I put up a 1'23'3xx time last night to get into 152 place for the map. I'm still only 451 overall for our region though. Like you said in another post, its all about Cape, getting that time under 3 sec will net you a pretty decent score. Hell I made the 3 min mark and it gave me a 750+ ranking for that map. I'm really getting good at the Rome track, it's that final turn that I struggle with, I see most of you top guys try to drift around it, but you can do pretty well dropping into 2nd gear when you start to rope out on the last turn, and quick go into 3rd gear to get your speed up before the straight away. I think I've pretty much mastered the beginning few turns, though that one where you get up to 5th gear, is a tough one to keep clean, I really am no good at drifting, which may be keeping me from getting up higher.

Edit:

I just realized I forgot to mention I'm having some problems getting down to 1:6:00 and 1:5:00 on Sukuba, I've been trying to use Choate51's ghost, and I notice it seems to be more of a drift around those tight turns. What I'm trying to figure out though, is if any e-brake needs to be applied. Also that last turn is killer to try and drift, if you don't get it just right you either spin out or end up in the grass lol. Anyways if you guys have any tips on any of those let me know, don't worry I'll be lucky to make top 128, unless i can get another .3 off of Rome which I think I can, but also shave off 5 sec on Cape. I really don't do well on Sukuba the car is just too out of control even with proper throttle control etc... but maybe I'll put more time in it, I'm at 1:7:731 for Sukuba right now.

150ish or so over all. West coast with 10 laps on each track. Need to get on it and put in some laps. Alot of room for improvement just need seat time as I work 12 to 15 hours a day. Grats to all the top guys so far!

Finally had a chance to put some times in today, been so busy with work havent played in a week.

Ranked 37 in the West last time I checked
Ranked 106 Nationally

Still got a few seconds to take off Cape Ring with about a 2:49 flat right now, I still dont got the map 100% down yet. Wish I had more spare time to compete with you all, wont have another day off for another 10 days though... :/

I just got myself into spot 33 in the Midwest. Man choate you are fast, I'm trying so hard to keep up with you on cape..still just under 4 sec. I'm ranked 18th on Rome and within a second off on tsubuka...you are a talented man choate keep it up

Just put up 4th on cape I southeast, I think I'm around low 30's overall and 8 in my region. Really need to put some time in on the other track but I'm having so much fun on the ring.

Psn sparklefresh

I hear ya...the reason why I'm focused on the cape more than the others is because Im 2-3sec off the leaders whereas at the other tracks I'm > 1 sec or just over the 1 sec marker.

Just got 29th in SE and 117th overall.

I had a go at Cape Ring last night and could not improve my time. So now is the time I'm officially going to let it drop. I'll check up on it in a couple weeks and see if I need to dig myself out of a hole.

I'm in the same boat. Yesterday was the first time since the competition opened that I didn't improve my time. Even after missing a few days with the holidays I was still able to improve something on my next go.

However, I would say to stick with it. Last night I may not have been able to better my cape time, but I'm much more consistent - several times w/in 0.1s or 0.2s of my personal best. My "optimal" time also improved a bit, meaning that sooner or later I will ring together a lap that could be a bit faster.

Just knocked off .3 on my Rome time to move me within .864s of the overall leader (which is also in my region)

Now, I'm 23 in the SE and 99th Overall - still 4.979s behind the overall leader lol. Lot of time to be found.

40 something in the west region. Love the cape, can't say much about rome or tsukuba. Took a break over christmas and am back at it again.

Last I checked I was 15th in the NE and 44th nationally which confirms my initial thought when I saw our region fenced in most of the population centers in the country while the mid-west is basically Chicago + farmland that it's going to be harsh being the top 8 from the NE.
Which unfortunately means that unless they tweak things with wild-cards due to the unnecessary geographic regions (seriously this is online after all) that lots of fast people from the northeast will not be making the finals.
