By the time I work my way down to a combined 5:12.low, they will be into the 11's.

The 511 Club will be very exclusive. Choate thinks there will only be about a dozen members by the end of round 1, I was thinking more along the lines of 7 or 8. I guess it just depends on how many people want that last playseat.

I moved 30 spots last night, from 118th to 88th in the West. I always save Tsukuba for last in my nightly trifecta and I am really starting to have fun on that track but the Ring is the fat hog that will get my total focus until I have loped off another 3 seconds.

The Ring is my hog from hell! I can't string together that perfect lap no matter what. I get 1 to 2 seconds up on my ghost and I put so much pressure on myself I lose it instead of just relaxing and letting it flow. I could make a nice jump into the top 50 if I could just relax! The mental game is killing me.:nervous:

Finally broke the 2:50 mark on Cape. I loaded up Choate's ghost and followed the best I could. 2:49.1xx. That bumped me up a whole bunch of spots. I was ranked 69th on Cape, and 74th overall in the midwest. But now I'm at 41st on Cape, and 51st mid west.

Finally I hit 2 of my goals. That moved me up to 3rd in the Northeast (behind the 2 aliens Fix and Kris), 5th nationally.

My first 2:45.x at the Cape, and it was a semi-blown lap. I've gone about 0.4s faster through the last section alone...excuses.

I still need to hit my 1:05.200 goal (at 1:05.227 now), but now I need 2 new goals for Rome and Cape - 1:21.450 and 2:45.750.

And here I was just starting to catch you.. chopped a second off my old day 1 cape time yesterday to crawl back up to 14th. I'll be happy if I can get a clean 46 on that track. It's startling the amount of cheating the game lets go in sector 2. I had a lap where I didn't make the 115mph right, went off onto the grass, bonked the barrier, mowed the entire lawn before cutting back onto the road and my time was still white. Seems like it only cares if you cut too much of the inside of a corner, but you're allowed to swing as wide and ugly as you want. *shrug*

Good job to you and Acerockolla. I rocked out last night and snuck in the #3 time in the northeast for Rome a 1.21.5xx, but had 4 attempts where I was up by more than a tenth on that going in to the last sector and put in the wall in turn 11...don't ask, just got too excited and pushed too hard for the 1.21.2 :). Now I'm going to go back to the Cape and stick her down in the low 2.46 range. I also haven't ran Tsukuba in over 2 weeks. I've been sitting on a 05'.775 there...that's like 40th place now! :)

Happy New Year guys.

the crazy thing is fix could do a 20.5 there if he noticed that the car really loves short-shifting 3rd in the first turn. I pull 2-3 tenths on him almost every time in the first sector (i've done 26.8 there). Then he threads the needle like a cannonball and pulls it all back on the straight. Really the only track where the aliens feel beatable.

Niiiiice!!! I thought I you looked like a new face up near the podium. Nice job, that's a big gain 👍

Same to all the other members in the top 10, it's awesome to see familiar people up top

1) APPALACHIAN_KRIS El_Z 1:05.110-5th is one 1:21.244-1st bad dude 2:45.290-2nd lol 5:11.644-1st

I'll take my humble pie cold, please.

Happy new year everyone!

Was grinding a bit on cape tonight and was able to knock about a sec off my lap time...bumped me into 8th for the track in the Midwest and 11th in the region. Still like 98th nationally...not sure if I should stick with cape or try to work on tsubuka, .8?? Behind on that track and ranked like 80th

Ok, here's where I stand after a good session tonight: (Western Region)

Tsukuba: 1:05.376 (9th)
Rome: 1:21.633 (7th)
Cape Ring: 2:47.308 (12th)

Overall Region: 6th
Overall USA: 29th

Anyone know if that's the fastest time at Cape Ring (western region) without using the pit exit?

My setup is a g27 with a playseat, with custom foot rest and shifter mount in front of a 52'' panasonic plasma with a 7.1 Onkyo surround sound system.

It look like this:
5034982006_a98fa7589b_z.jpg

I have the exact setup except I have a 55in led, I don't know how to setup the g27 to look left and right, I tried the usual way with no luck. Any idea?

As of mid day yesterday, I broke into the top 100 in my region and I'm still 6 seconds off the top times. The Ring is killing me. Can't help but think the Pad is bringing me down too but I won't be buying a wheel unless I make it to the next level. I haven't touched the rest of the game since I started the gt academy on the 26th.

Funny thing, my best times have been when I was using myself as the 'ghost' as opposed to using a the top time ghost. Don't know if that's the norm or not.

13th in the SE now and 52 Overall... it's nice picking up any time, but picking up less than a tenth per sitting is not as fun as a few tenths per sitting lol.

Most people will use the ghost from one of the top drivers, which can help tremendously with your line. For Tsukuba I went straight to the top and used the leader's ghost. Frustrating at times but it helped get me into the top 10 last night.

Just got back home today, haven't played in like a week? Too long.

I got my first place back, not by much but I have internet AND I'm on my own cockpit now. I'm much better at the rome kink, so I'll lower my time quickly. Just need to sleep some more. 2 days on the road, ****ing tough.

Kris is gonna have to settle for second place to get the cockpit, I'm doing all I can to stay in first.

Edit: GGGGaaaaa...hhhhhhh yeaahh! :)

Fix you already won it for week 1 didnt you? It doesnt matter where you end up now I believe. Unless, they change the rules and just wait until the end of round 1 and award playseats to the top 5 and wheels to the top 25.

Doesnt matter anyway because Im about to drop a 2:44.9xx on Cape and take you both! =P I just need to get sector 1 down, Im doing 49.0 while you guys are doing 48.7. I had a near flawless sector 2 in my run though.

I have been doing that but then I guess I put to much pressure on myself to keep up with the leader ghost and start over-driving the car. After I set a half decent lap using the leader ghost, I start using my ghost to make smaller improvements.

Wait - did you actually receive your playseat, wheel, and poster ($10 value)?

Did any of the top 5 from week 1 receive a notification of sorts that they won anything? Or is Hunk's suspicion that they deal out all the playseats and wheels after the conclusion of round 1 correct?

Nothing here yet. What I meant is that I've been away since xmas and just got back home.

Hunk, I know it makes no difference, but it must be annoying as hell for people to always chase me. Well at least I provide them with a faster and faster ghost every time they beat me ahahah

Just doing it because I can/for fun. It's nice practice too

I dont find it annoying at all! Im amazed every time you better your times and I go watch the replay right away to see how its possible for you to be any faster. I try to learn as much as I can from the top guys, its the only way to get better.

Havent been on in a couple days. I was 131st in my region (SE)a couple days ago so i would imagine im probably around 160-170 now. Not bad considering i really havent poured as much time into it as i would have liked. I will be soon though. I have alot of time to be had on the last TT. I beleive i can get into the top 32 with the time i can gain on that one alone.

Update: just played for a couple hours on the Cape and knocked my time down a couple full seconds to 2:49.33* so my new overall is now 91st place. I definetely can gain a second on that track then all i will need is less then 2 seconds overall to get the top 30. I havent done the second track with the skyline all that much yet either.

I too ran many miles on the Cape tonight and was able to improve my PB lap by 3 tenths of a second to 2:47:166 (previous was 2:47:472). I'm able to do laps more consistently and quicker...still trying to find more time. You guys in the low 46's and 45's are ridiculous lol.

This has moved me up to 12th in the Southeast and 48th overall.

Ahh thanks man, but I don't know how to make pie. :(

I just wanted to secure a playseat and a pass to round 2, I think I might go race Miats now. Hope to see you on the track man.

p.s. I saw you moved back into the top 10, nice! I know if you put a lot of time into it you could climb up more still. 👍

Improved my Cape Ring Time by 0.7 or something like that. Moved up to 68th in SE, just ahead of Lord Grey, who happens to be from the same town I am. Imagine that. 266th overall.

Whoa. The world just got smaller again!

Congratulations on the move up! I've had another influx of relatives and haven't been able to even check my (falling) rankings, let alone put in any time at the wheel. Hopefully that will happen Monday, my last day of vacation.

I'll admit, though, that I feel like I'm about at my limit. Last time I drove the Cape, it took three hours to improve 0.02 seconds. Frustrating stuff. I'm hoping I was just having an off day or something.

I was actually gonna be done with this round. Then a miracle happened, my wife said "you aren't going to win a wheel back here!". I couldn't believe my ears! I couldn't do the lap I wanted, I saw some .5's and maybe a .4, but couldn't do it yesterday. I might stay in the top 25 with my current total time, but I doubt it.

I prob won't be in a competitive Miata race since they are held at dinner time:grumpy:, but I'll def be racing though. 👍

So you plan on putting the playseat on eBay or actually using it?

Ha ha, couldn't believe your EERS? I hope you get a wheel or better man.

Haven't won it yet! But if I do, I'll set it up and give it a try. I think it will be better than my current set-up, but I'm not sure. If it's not then I'll sell it, and if it is I'll try to find someone I can give the current rig to. I don't really have any local friends that play the game. Hmm maybe solarr. :) It's big and not easily moveable, so it kind of requires a dedicated room. :embarrassed:
