I know that and don't care. If it's the fastest clean time, then I'm ecstatic. :D

actually its not the fastest clean time I believe fix by wire has that. If you have ever raced in real life you would understand that is an ok thing to do. I have seen people go so wide they had to go down pit lane but the did it full throttle and lost no time. Of course if the race was set up to use the pit i dont think it would have been ok, but it wasnt. and thats not even the pit in the game its just the exit!

I think you just need to loose the ego, it is what it is.

OMG KRIS!! i had you on cape but spun the last turn!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its so hard to pull it all together for a clean lap, I hope i can do it again.

right now I think im #6-7 in the southeast, i think i could get higher but i have only been working on the cape the last week. I feel a 45.xxx coming soon :D

ps i guess its not even the fastest "CLEAN" https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=151467 sorry : (

First of all, that conversation had been over long ago, so drop it. 👍

Second, I'm talking fastest "Official" clean lap. As in you're on the leader board currently because of that lap. TRC_Hunk may have had a faster clean lap, but that is not his lap on the boards currently.

You must have the fastest cape time. Specially since you have the fastest tsukuba and rome time. Oh wait, you DON'T.

Whoever can make the fastest clean time on both of the first 2 tracks, can make the fastest clean time at the cape, don't you think? And last time I checked you couldn't cut the track on neither tracks.

P.S. This "clean" time bullcrap should have ended millions of years ago, in fact it shouldn't even have started, so drop it 👍

Look, I didn't post that to start a fight. I was curious if anyone had a faster, official, clean lap. If so, awesome. Something to work towards. If not, then that's cool too.

Just forget it, I don't have time to bicker over the internet anymore.

Hehe, thanks Kris. I dont know if all the time Ive spent is worth that! Ive been running Rome all day today and after a couple hours I shaved .004 off my PB, and then another .004 off that PB. So frustrating, I can see the 121.1xx but cant put it all together. And that track is so addicting I cant stop.

So what do u guys think it will take to stay in the Top 5 to win a playseat? A 5:11.999? So far Fix has one, Kris will get it this week, and I hope myself and Choate will take it in weeks 3 and 4. Im just afraid a bunch of ppl are gonna start hotlapping like crazy because the holidays are over and we will have 10 people with 5:11.5's. =(

Better watch out cuz here I come ;) jk I'm unrealistically optimistic

Im 84th overall in the West, I spent one quality session on each track, I can definitely find time in Rome and Cape, Tsukuba is tough though because we are battling for such a small margin and getting the perfect exit every turn is sometimes a chore in that car with those tires.

I don't know man, I think now that a couple of weeks have passed, the big gains have already been made and we shouldn't expect to see much more out of the folks already at the top. You and Mr. Choate have a nice gap behind you, so I think you are pretty safe as long as you keep putting in a little effort here and there. The only thing that could be a real threat would be new people showing up, and even still they have a lot of catching up to do. The short answer- my opinion is that both of you guys will take the top prize before it's over. :)

As for this comment, believe me I understand the feeling. A couple of things that may make you feel better-

1. This seat may not look like much, but I think the ergonomics and adjustability of it will make it very valuable. I think it will feel great, and we can fine tune it so that it will be a perfect fit for us individually.

2. Last year the competition for U.S. residents was basically a winner-take-all affair, and I think many of the competitors didn't even care for the grand prize much. So those like me who finished near the top but didn't win it were rewarded with a GT for PSP voucher- mine is still unclaimed, as I don't own a PSP. Does that make you feel like you're getting a decent reward for your efforts? :D

99th Midwest, currently.

Hey, I know I'm not the fastest guy out there, and there's some absolutely fierce competition out there, but I have to say, I'm having an absolute blast in this contest.

Are any of you guys like me, often finding yourselves visualizing faster ways around the track when they're at work? :)

Zissou, get ready for another GT for PSP voucher...that's what's awaiting you in round 2. What a waste.

I still have yet to understand why they would give people that already own a copy of the game other copy of the same thing : /
Anybody figure this out yet?

If I can figure out Cape Ring I'll be up there with you guys. ;)

Hey man no hurry! Maybe just rest up and make one final push in the last week of round 1, yah? :)

Honestly, to me Cape feels so random. I can run a good lap and hit a 2:45.6, and then run a lap that feels exactly the same and it will be a 2:46.0.

I've got another half a second in me, but I'm hoping I don't have to bring it out. I see a bunch of people are creeping up though.

I totally agree. My fastest laps are not my best laps which kind of sucks.

Thanks Eers, hopefully this is good enough to get me in 2nd round

You're in round 2 for sure! 👍

been off on vacay in taiwan for the last 8 days and went to GT.com to find my rank dropped from 298 to 425 )= got some serious work to do when i get back! need to seriously cut down my cape ring time... which i think Hunk's video he posted will help me a bit.

I'm slowly making my way up the ladder. Couple of tenths here and there. I know I can be faster on Cape, but it is tough to get it down. I know I can break 2:48, but I just can't seem to keep it together enough to do it. Sometimes I can be faster through some sections, others not.

Just moved myself up from 119th in the Midwest to 88th and 431st in the US. It came by knocking 1.1 seconds off my Cape time. Gonna take a break for now and attack Rome tomorrow.

Which means I dropped to 7th. (or worse)

That's ok though, I never thought I would be anywhere near the top 10, let alone in it. :)

heh... I took a break yesterday to mess about with formula gt (god that car/event is a money pit) hopped into the cape ring car today and almost laughed at how slow it felt. You have seemingly endless time to think about how to take the next corner. After a nice session of 20-30 laps in 5 lap stints of popping mid 47's (started writing down my sector times and being all nerdy race engineer) chopped my time down to 2:46.7. Product of my best splits was a 46.5 so I'm down with 46.7... you guys and your 48 second sector one times. I die a little inside every time I see 49.4 when 49.2's are the best I've ever managed. I get completely owned in turn 2-3-4 >:E

anyway, got myself back up on page 1 in the NE and 29th nationally. so productive weekend; feels good when you achieve a goal. =]

Yeah I knew it. Never thought I would get that high anyways, so oh well. :D
Same here. To think that I was thinking the best I could do was be in the Top 50.

I don't see myself going past Round 2 but the least I want to do is not look like a noob driver.

Currently 13th in the Midwest. Both of my fastest laps at cape (8th) were both achieved while a little intoxicated (cuz of the holidays) which is ridiculous.... Hopefuly that is enough to get into the 2nd round

Looks like I dropped 2 spots nationally - 7th now. Acerockella is ahead of me by thousandths - nice work dropping time off. Still 3rd in the Northeast.

I think I'll hop on today and try to get below .5 at Rome and get closer to mid 2:45's at Cape.

I had no internet all weekend so I took a good breather. I will probably attack a little tonight, but I honestly don't have much more in me. I hate Rome and I can pick up a couple tenths at the Cape, but I get so damn frustrated at times so to me it's not worth being frustrated.
