... "soon" would be the only correct answer :grumpy:

sadly, i think, the hole Q&A was made to pour oil on troubled water, when the community was rather angry and audible ... now, again business as usual ...

Yeah, you are right. I didn't consider that. The effect of dealing with the community complaints of the time was already achieved.

Though it'd be a bit too much to /ragequit from the game just because of not fulfilling that announcement.

edit: Ok lets be a bit propositive (for a change): PD (as if they were reading this), announce and do a livestream on twitch.tv, with Kaz, chief directors of each area (sounds, physics, AI, etc.) and Translator-san, just going through the said questions, sorted by 'likes', one by one and without skipping any entirely. Please skim through the content and first posts inside each thread. Save the video to youtube. Make it last about 3 hours, in a lighthearted mood though still going through at least the first 35 (first page) or 70 (second page) questions.

The alternative is not making the twitch livestream, but making a youtube video with the same content, as in answering all questions in a row and in one shot.

Of course it would be better without a live interpreter and translator, so it's more fluent and quicker too. No Translator-san present. By this I mean either:
a) Kaz & co. reading the threads and answering in english; or
b) That the questions (including their thread content) are already translated to japanese (google translate even?), so that Kaz & co. read in silence and reply verbally in japanese. Then we get a video on youtube, with added english subtitles.

... And you're exactly the kind of person I'm sure he can't be bothered to answer. I'm pretty sure he's happy sat in his huge mansion, overlooking his collection of Lamborghini's laughing at the one person not buying GT7 because he didn't answer a pointless question.
Exactly.
I'm the only one who will say NO to GT7.

No!

Dude, that's exactly what I was going to reply. You're my hero.

This post was perfectly cromulent.
LOL cromulent indeed! It popped into my head and I almost didn't put the pic with it to see who else got it...but after I saw that pic I laughed too hard not to include it.

I was amazed that the first question I asked Kaz directly got answered.

I wonder if he would like to show implementation of some of what the fans on here are requesting, might be a potential reason for slowness of response. All I know is answers might be coming "soon" like any game updates.

You know, as a GT Community. . . we have learnt to temper our expectations. Its sad, but thats how we survive. Guys, they just did the Reddit AMA and said to hell with our questions.

If you mean all of the questions being answered then obviously never, since a lot of them seem to be feature requests which can't really be answered.
If you mean "a selection" of the questions as in the OP, then they have already.

And why GTplanet staff does not tell us what's going on with this? Did they get news from PD about it? Did the plans change? (BTW, tagging some questions as "answered" -in the AMA- was pretty petty imo)

If I were in GTplanet team, I would be REALLY mad at PD right now. The guys just don't keep their word (which is so unsurprising coming from GT in the end). They put you in a bad situation in front of your community...

So, @Famine ? Can you please explain us what's going on with all this?

Soon, Next week, Next month, next year and "in a future update" are the favorite words of Kaz. It seems like if he says he will release an item "next week", he might release it the week thereafter, then he'll say that it'll be released the week thereafter, then will happen on the next month. Then he'll say "next month", but will release it next year. Then he'll say "next year", then he'll release it on the next Gran Turismo game.

Confusion and delay is what's probably on Kaz's mind, so that's why I picked F- Never.

see this would be so obvious, easy to do, responsible and fanbase calming; creating such a perfect climate to all the parts involved that will never even be remotely taken into account.

The kaz questions forum and the pitstop blog have really changed something for me.

When we get the sound patch, the track creator and everything else.

So never. The real "lying to your fans" simulator.

Ok. At first I liked the idea of that Q & A forums and the chance that Kaz will answer a selection of questions there.
But after a few days (if not hours) nearly all of posted questions were mirroring the already crowded suggestions forum threads.
Take a look and compare suggestions against Q & A forum (sort by likes); they're almost identical.
Main difference is, that in Q & A, all suggestions are "directly" asked to Kaz.
Odd and failed from start in my point of view.

If its not too much trouble kaz , can you let us know your plans with course maker ? Why do we never get any answers regarding this. If its not getting added then just let us know !!!
Poor customer service to leave it un-answered , burying your head in the sand will not make it go away !! Communication is a wonderful thing pd

They already got what they wanted, which is good publicity for the game. The 'outsiders' to the community don't know he didn't fulfill what he promised, so they only stay with the initial information.

In other words, gaming sites think "hey PD is going to listen to the community. What a nice company"; even though they ultimately did not.

There's several hundreds of unanswered questions, with several thousands of 'likes' in total.
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/board/kazunori-yamauchi-qa/?order=first_post_likes

Three of them are considered to be "answered" by the mods. Those are spots #8, #13 and #16 respectively, by likes:
1) "Will standard cars be in GT7 (for the PS4)" --> Yes they will be.
2) "Camber problem (in GT6)" --> Already fixed. No reply in the thread or any info from PD though.
3) "Would you consider having someone from PD communicate regularly with the fans"- --> Pit Stop blog, which is sporadic, one-sided communication consisting of blog posts. No interaction.

By "by the mods" I mean that those questions weren't answered by Kaz or by PD directly in the subforum, as it was announced. Instead, those three were indirectly answered, in interviews in different sites, adding the said blog and in one minor patch.

This means in actuality they haven't replied to a single one

I don't get this though, If they did something to correct a problem or added something that was waited upon - isn't that the same as "replying" to the issue? The camber issue was a top issue and was addressed accordingly, by fixing it!

If you look at the top "likes" it goes...

1) Course maker
2) Sounds
3) Livery
4) Previous Tracks
5) Zahara

Say they add the Course maker and Zahara, in my opinion it's the exact same as "vocally" responding to a question. Actions speak louder than words my friend, if they don't vocally answer any questions it would be fine by me as long as the produce!

PS: Since the; Camber, PD communication, and standard cars issues have been address either formally in informal - that leaves only 2 more for them to "answer". Sounds have been addressed but not applied so that's a bit of a grey area, but could be counted as the fourth addressed issue, and fifth being Zahara (which is reported to be in the next update).

There you go folks, 5 of the top questions....answered/addressed. Waiting for more answers would be just wasting time.

@Famine Well sorry then. I just assumed that; as a mod, there might be some communication between you and Jordan, and between Jordan and PD ( as GTplanet is always refered to as the unofficial PD canal)... Does it sound so stupid?

@stuff1138 I did not require anything. Just asked for some/any news on the board's side. PD's silence is one thing, GTplanet's is another one. Jordan (IIRC) asked for inputs from the community, promising answers from PD: we did it...and now, no news. One can see this as unrespectful.
I know PD's silence is not on Jordan. But at least someone could explain how we got here, and why hundreds of well constructed and well thought questions get ignored..

Jordan and I speak very frequently and both of us have occasion to speak to SCEA/SCEE - him a little more often than I. PD... less so. The last time I spoke to anyone at PD was at the beginning of August and it was a chat with Kazunori about my car - apparently he likes MX-5s (who knew? ) - and not any official capacity. We did have an interview earlier in the day, but it was in a roundtable format (lots of journos, largely from motoring sites) and you've seen much of the result of that already.

However, I'm not a mouthpiece for GTPlanet (except on rare official interactions) and certainly not Sony or PD. @Jordan is not an official mouthpiece for Sony or PD either. We're not privy to any special inner workings, though we'll often get the same chance to get embargoed information ahead of an official reveal date that the large, multi-focus gaming sites get.

We don't know what is going on with the flow of answers, or what the schedule is. For that matter, although we knew there would be some interaction emergent from the Q&A forum, we didn't know what form it would be in - we knew nothing about the Pit Stop Blog until shortly before it appeared, for example

The best I can do personally is to reiterate what I said in August when I spoke to Translator-san in idle conversation - so not a matter for record. He said that translating all the questions was a lot of work.

Indeed, there's not much to say - Kazunori simply isn't answering the questions at the rate he said he would, and there's nothing that anyone involved can do to force his hand.

A very sad statement, and I feel sorry for @Jordan and the rest of the GTP team who no doubt have spent a lot of time on this and are left having to take the indirect brunt of the result.

I'm sure no one considers GTP responsible in any way.

I've bought every version of GT so far and will (probably) buy gt7 as in the end I still enjoy the game, but i fear sales for gt7 will be poor if they carry on ignoring their customers. A slippery slope it seems.
