Definitely a let down but not unexpected or surprising...it has been nearly 6 months since that forum started

Yep, add the fact that we can't use our old wheels and I'm done too (until they convince me otherwise). PCars FTW and I've never even played it

Jerome

Unless you're using a PC, your wheel (assuming the one from your sig) isn't supported either. I keep my PS4 around in case they add support later, if not, bye bye consoles.

Hey guys just a wee tip to become less pissed off at Kaz and the game or whatever. It may sound ridiculous and I mean no disrespect to the community or the site owner...

Spend less time on this site and more time on the game. This has has helped me and the people I race with a lot. Some of them haven't even checked this site out, ever.

We set up races through PM's and on the chat box, but there is always a guaranteed bunch of us having some great races every night that there is hardly any time for setting a certain race up. It's all become very natural.

We do realize there are things wrong with the game, but when your enjoying the game for what is simply is, you can easily forget about its issues for months.

If you ever see a black RS200 with 4000+ miles on the clock at 500pp SS tyres at Nurb24h say hi!

See ya in another couple of months :D

A very sad statement, and I feel sorry for @Jordan and the rest of the GTP team who no doubt have spent a lot of time on this and are left having to take the indirect brunt of the result.

I'm sure no one considers GTP responsible in any way.

I've bought every version of GT so far and will (probably) buy gt7 as in the end I still enjoy the game, but i fear sales for gt7 will be poor if they carry on ignoring their customers. A slippery slope it seems.
I'm not telling you or anybody not to buy GT7 (because it's your money and you're free to buy it whenever you wish), but for me, I refuse to buy GT7 due to Kaz and PD's attitude towards the GT community who got them where they are today.

I honestly find it very sad that Jordan and the staff members have put so much heart into making the Q&A subfourm for Kaz to visit, look though its section and answer questions, but NOPE, it seems he's not too bothered about answering other questions that weren't answered as of yet. What? He's too busy writing more articles about the engine sounds that could have been redone from stratch a few years ago? Oh okay.

I'm deeply sorry to hear that from you @Jordan. I can't imagine how disappointed you must feel right now, that Kaz (a man you and the other staff members have met in real life and you interviewing him many times before) probably kept his word to you that he will be visiting the subfourm to answer the GTP members questions, but all of a sudden he goes behind it, runs off to Reddit then *POOF* he's gone yet again. It also shocks me that nobody can't just force the guy to do it either, not even Sony themselves, as if he's too special or he's some sort of god.

I can't support GT7 if that is the way Kaz wants to play. However, two and many players can play in his game at ignoring. Believe me, I'll start playing when I get all the new racing games in my hands later this year, including Enthusia Professional Racing I ordered online 1 week ago.

Mirrors my thoughts exactly. 👍 In my opinion, that whole Q&A idea was just smoke and mirrors as it came at a time when pretty much the whole community was at an unrest due to a lack of communication and updates. It was seemingly done just to buy some more time or pacify the community for the time being. Even though I did submit a question myself, I had serious doubts the the whole idea would take off. Looks like I was pretty much right in my thinking. The way I see things, Kaz is still stuck in the 80's/90's. The sooner he realizes that his vision isn't going to work anymore, the better off things will be as far as the game and its future success goes. Its not about it being "his game and his vision" anymore. Its about what the fans/consumers want, not what he wants or what he thinks we should have. In this day and age, you have to give what the consumers want, within reason, to have a really successful game. Also, communication is paramount. Communicate with the fanbase....let them know you truly care. I won't mention any names, but I'm part of three other forums for other games and in each case, the developer, or at least someone of great importance, is right there with us....talking with the community to see just what they can do to improve/add to make the game better/more enjoyable. Kaz needs to realize, its not about him, its about us, the fans/consumers that fill his pockets with the cash.

As for the communication, I am not falling for the language barrier excuse. I've been told my many people that the man can speak English well enough to communicate with the English speaking world. Even if he can't, it shouldn't be an issue, he has a translator so there's no excuse.

As for me and GT7....its not going to happen, at least not right away. I will be holding off until I see if things change with the franchise. There are far too many games out/coming out and also PC based games to be wasting time with just one wondering if the developer is ever going to get his 🤬 together. If I'm going to have to buy another console in the future to enjoy upcoming games, or go off into the PC direction, its going to be for one whose games I truly enjoy and I feel are worth buying. I would really like to stick with the GT series, but its like they have fallen behind the times, in all aspects.

At any rate, we'll see what the future holds.....I'm not going to get my hopes up though. I'll just take it one day at a time and enjoy the other games I do have at this point. GT really isn't doing it for me anymore.

Thanks for reading. And you all can blame @TokoTurismo for this long winded post. I was just going to leave it at my original one line response, but after re-reading his post, it inspired me to let my own true feelings/opinions be known.:)

Same here! I was already debating if to get GT6, since I did not think it could deliver much more than GT5, but the course maker and the increased online functionality convinced me to go with it. After this huge fiasco that is GT6 (because nobody can tell me that it is worth $60 - I consider it a GT5.5...) I decided that it is not worth all the drama an incomplete game, the waiting for the promised features and the boring underdeveloped gamplay, so GT7 is a big no no for me. Now they may surprise me and I would be glad. But seeing Kaz doing PR work around the world, being more interested in dealing with the FIA and the GTAcademy I doubt that PD has left any real internal strength to deliver a new great GT... The fact that he cannot even answer some questions from the users that helped the GT series to grow and that he obviously prefers the Jet Set life of the motorworld is the last straw!

Soon[TM] - Not available in poll.. 👎
I have it in my hands right now - Not available in poll.. 👎
Never.. - CHECKED. 👍
Never Ever. How dare you question that?.. - Not available in poll.. 👎

"How about No? You.." as posted above, if you remember that movie and that particular scene.. I meahwile think that it would answer the OP's question.. Sad but true, I was a fan of the series once..

PD will have to step up and re-think about their japanese mentality when it comes to thinking about their fans. INTERACT and COMMUNICATE with your fans. You don't even have to set up a platform for this, GTP is right here.
OR: Post stuff at your PIT STOP blog that the community would REALLY like to know about. I mean, it's quite interesting to read the experiences of a japanese gamer who was invited to the Norschleife (up to a certain amount of postings) at PD's expense (If I understood that correctly).
BUT, I expect you guys to deliver MORE interesting "insights" about what's going on at PD..

Yeah, PD will sell enough Discs/DL without me buying anymore.
But, I was one of the guys who bought GT5 and GT6 at least two times..

Just don't upset your customers PD, and even more important your long time fanbase until they refuse to buy your games anymore (and spread the word about WHY around everywhere)..

That's a fair bit of drama for what is just a game. Though I'd certainly be interested to know your thoughts and actions regarding sweatshop labor in the textile industry, laboratory testing of drugs on animals, Japanese whaling under the guise of scientific research and mining companies/fossil fuel/global warming?

The best I can do personally is to reiterate what I said in August when I spoke to Translator-san in idle conversation - so not a matter for record. He said that translating all the questions was a lot of work.

Indeed, there's not much to say - Kazunori simply isn't answering the questions at the rate he said he would, and there's nothing that anyone involved can do to force his hand.

If I were to translate some of the top questions into Japanese, do you think this is likely to help? I imagine he wants his own man formatting his answers carefully, but presenting the questions in Japanese could be helpful for him. I'm a native English speaker so my Japanese is only OK, not fluent like someone like Translator-san, but with a little help from friends and teachers I think I could come up with a good result.

Then again, it would be a shame to put work into translating say, the first page of most liked questions, for something that's unlikely to affect the results. I'd be happy to put work into making the question answering process as painless as possible for Kazunori though, he's a busy man.

Fully signed (except for what you've ordered 1 week ago - I don't know that game :D ). But you perfectly echoed my thoughts about GT, as it is right now - for quite some months..
I for my part are not considering an "instant" buy of GT7 at all. No. The opposite. If anyone will ask me about "GT" in the future, I'll just share my objections about it.

As for me and GT7....its not going to happen, at least not right away. I will be holding off until I see if things change with the franchise.

Fully signed.

👍
Although I've left out nearly everything of your posting (except for the last paragraph), I can still sign it. It just mirrors my sight of things as well.
And the fact that I've read it all up to the end and just quoted the end paragraph, just means that I'm really HIGHLY disappointed about PD by now. I've read quite some complaints (not in detail) about GT5 in general and how it wasn't the game people expected. It felt quite ok for me, I had fun with it. I even went and made it for the platinum trophy (way before save game modding was possible at all).
But I already felt a little bit of distraction in GT5. It didn't feel like previous GT games anymore in total. License tests? What for? Not needed to go anywhere in career mode. And oh, I almost forgot... My old habit of having GT save games with only license tets done. If I ever felt the need to return and play the game again. GT5 in the beginning? Show-Stopper.
When backing-up savegames to USB was allowed in GT5, I already had all license tests golded and went beyond that in the game. Not exactly the state of savegame I'd like to have when I really feel the need to replay that game.
Oh, I just notice, I do get teared apart here in the GT6 forums. I do have quite some objections about GT6 as well, but I guess it would take quite some time to post them :(

Oh, I am too! Really!
But on the other side, I just ask myself about how abducting the thread into a discussion about all that really itching questions would further lead to an answer about when KAZ is answering the questions asked on GTP..

Am I missing out on something with the wales?

You know Jimi, if you actually had something constructive to say one of these days instead of trying to be a keyboard comedian, (don't quit your day job btw ) I'd actually fall over in disbelief.

Two men walk into a bar, one wearing a cowboy hat............ah, nvm, you probably already know that one.

Kaz won't answer diddley squat. Ultimately, I think that if he really wanted to answer questions, he would, regardless of his schedule, he'd make time (especially given the time that has passed), but he chooses not to and that's fine, his choice and no one should have to tell him otherwise.

Like many here on GTP, I've had tons of enjoyment with the GT series since it's debut. PD's way of handling GT is beyond help in my opinion...they're stuck in their ways. If PD can correct the many issues surrounding GT and communication that's fine, if they can't then that's fine with me also. Life doesn't revolve around GT and there are other titles to find enjoyment. Just my opinion, in the meantime I'll consider the GT series a...

I'm sure there are those who'd disagree with me and that's okay, we're human.

Kaz can do better then give vague answers to our questions, he can add the top requested features, cars and tracks.

The top 3 most requested features in the suggestion forum is better sound, a livery editor, and an event creator. If PD simply added those 3 things to GT7, Im sure most of the complaining would go away and the game itself would be much more enjoyable and entertaining even if all the other issues remained untouched. So do that and I dont care if he comes out less often then Howard Hughes. GT has so many issues we shouldnt expect them to all be fixed anytime soon. Simply bringing the game up to modern standards by fixing the sound and adding a livery editor and event creator would do wonders.

I don't get this though, If they did something to correct a problem or added something that was waited upon - isn't that the same as "replying" to the issue? The camber issue was a top issue and was addressed accordingly, by fixing it!

If you look at the top "likes" it goes...

1) Course maker
2) Sounds
3) Livery
4) Previous Tracks
5) Zahara

Say they add the Course maker and Zahara, in my opinion it's the exact same as "vocally" responding to a question. Actions speak louder than words my friend, if they don't vocally answer any questions it would be fine by me as long as the produce!

PS: Since the; Camber, PD communication, and standard cars issues have been address either formally in informal - that leaves only 2 more for them to "answer". Sounds have been addressed but not applied so that's a bit of a grey area, but could be counted as the fourth addressed issue, and fifth being Zahara (which is reported to be in the next update).

There you go folks, 5 of the top questions....answered/addressed. Waiting for more answers would be just wasting time.

It's not the exact same, because:
1) Them replying with actions takes several months, if not years. The Seattle track was shown more than one and a half years ago.
2) Their replies don't answer the whole extent of the question; just what they want to answer vaguely based on the thread's title.
3) There's no interaction with the community, which is the whole point of a Q&A.
4) The announcement was that PD was going to answer the questions directly, here on GTP on that subforum. Nothing even remotely like that so far, after several months.

The camber issue is the only one in which I'd agree on, but that was a really minor change. The main questions still remain unanswered to this very day, including the ones you mentioned such as the course maker (none at all), sounds (no improvement whatsoever. Remember Kaz himself announced there was going to be a major update on this for GT6), liveries (c'mon adding a number is not a livery editor), classic tracks (none added even when they were announced at the Silverstone event) and Zahara (8 months ago?).

If I were to translate some of the top questions into Japanese, do you think this is likely to help?
thx mate, but you don't have to do this ... the language-problem is only an argument put forward ... from my point of view: blabla

edit2: to tell the truth: the gtp-community is just not important for their business

r.

edit1: btw, i still hate it, that they shut gt5 down (!) no, don't even think about to write, it was needed for gt6 ...

.....Like I said.....
How am I supposed to show more respect than I already do towards a company that treats their fanbase (a.k.a. CUSTOMERS) like air, and when I see how other racing games are currently doing?

I'm sick of hearing the same stuff over and over again. "Soon" "We're working on it" "In an update" "It's technically possible"... I know it's a lot of hard work to develop games HALF the size of GT6.

But I really think PD should start to communicate soon ("Soon", that irony...). It's absolutely inexcusable that with availability of quick means of communication (Facebook, Twitter, countless gaming sites, PIT Stop Blog, even GTPlanet) we still barely hear about anything they are planning to do, if about anything at all. I think that as a customer who spent 60 euros on an unfinished product, I have the right to know if any of the major features (sound update, course maker etc) are coming to the game at all. I have the right to know if they still care about Gran Turismo or have moved to being a PR company rather than game developers.
