I think the GTplanet community doesn't deserve any responses from Polythony Digital or Kazanori.

I think you don't understand what paying for an incomplete product means.

GT6 is still incomplete, by Polyphony's own admission. Communicating with their customers as to when the remaining features will be delivered should be a basic part of customer service in that situation.

Consumers have been kind enough to pay full price for the game on Polyphony's word that it will be completed at a later date. I don't think it's unreasonable for those consumers to expect some infrequent updates on the progress of the rest of the game they paid for.

If it was a meal, you'd expect the waiter to give you some idea when the rest of it was coming.
If it was a book, you'd expect the author to give you some idea when the last few chapters were coming.
If it was a movie, you'd expect the director to give you some idea when the last few scenes were coming.
If it was a house, you'd expect the builder to give you some idea when the last rooms will be finished.
But if it's a game, consumers are acting entitled to expect that the developer give some idea when the rest of the game is coming.

Right.

.....Like I said.....
Wow, so you weren't joking with that 'respect' thing, hugh?
For the record, I don't think calling a company out on their broken promises, lacking customer and public relations, and lackluster product is disrespecting them.
But for the sake of argument, let's assume it was. Wouldn't it then be equally disrespectful to customers to view them as mere cashcows, not worthy of proper communication whatsoever?
This respect thing goes both ways, you know.

I'll stick with GT6 till they shut the servers down just like I did with 5, but no more after that.
I think PD have lost their way a little & only the die hard fans will buy GT7 & I do hope it turns out well for those that do, but as the saying goes "once bitten twice shy". As a company I just dont trust them any more.

Woah!

I did have a copy of Gran Turismo 6 but gave it away because my Playstation 3 reached it's end after 6 or 7 years of playing Gran Turismo titles.
Should I buy another PS3, I get another copy of GT6 and continue.

That's a good question, perhaps start a thread in the Q&A forum.

Well thats not hard to believe considering he put his customers on his ignore list on December 6th 2013

Redbull Ring begs to differ

Well, they seem fully intent on not delivering any in the first place; so cross your fingers I guess.
Was really never expecting a revolution at PD concerning tidbits but GTplanet is the place to come to.
Since Gran Turismo 3 GTplanet has been the No1 source of pipelined food for me on anything GT related.
I suppose you could say the same thing about world issues and hope we all can live in a peaceful world.

Imari.
Find one post of mine complaining or being negative on Gran Turismo.

I'm sure that was some kind of promotional thing going on, Even if thats not the case we clearly have been ignored and im not even going to get into the fact they took liberties with customers by adding on their site a week before release "not available on launch day" with all the features that made gt6 a step up from gt5,

And someone is saying to shiw pd more respect? In most other industries and businesses this simply would not be tolerated nor would excuses be made for by other customers.

Well that depends If Kaz was the waiter, The author, The director, The builder. Lets be honest thats what its about, Some posters just dont look at the product or the dynamics between the company that produces the gt series and the customers, They are blinded by their mission to protect their baby PD/Kaz.

Laughable really.

All that hate for one simple opinion.

Was it really an opinion or a statement though? Also telling people they should show respect and don't deserve a response from a company that has not delivered the marketed product and taken customers for a ride is going to result in people not taking you seriously or feel you have nothing they need to take in.

I Hope your electricity supplier reduces it's prices next month and then you could give them the upmost...
Not gonna happen is it?

@Jordan, @Famine and all moderators, you gotta read what this person just said.
The community should be showing more respect.
PD has gotten plenty respect from their customers by paying them a FULL $60, a FULL $100+ Collectors and Signature editions as well as supporting their franchise through 1997 to current. You dare come in here to tell me and other GT fans in this site that WE should be showing more respect to Kaz and PD, when they should also be showing equal respect to their fans as well. They literally sold us two half-assed titles with lots of broken promises, and yet you tell us we should respect them for that?

I'm sorry (no I'm not sorry) but NO, I will not be showing any respect to Kaz and PD unless they start showing respect to their customers again, by making COMPLETE title and keeping to their words they make to public, especially to Jordan and the staff who put their heart into creating the Q&A subfourm for Kaz. The fact that you're okay with being sold incomplete titles, being ignored and then leaving a big happy smile on your face, tells me you're a blind loyal fan who will take and buy anything blindly because you need to show respect to said developer... @hardvibes is right, I'll be putting you in my Ignore List as well because you went to far, too damn far.

Actually, you paid Sony - after the retailer's cut is removed. Polyphony's budget is set by Sony - they don't get paid on a per game basis.

It's a fairly common misconception and it's amusing how often it's brought up. Still, not as amusing as this:
But I really think PD should start to communicate soon ("Soon", that irony...). It's absolutely inexcusable that with availability of quick means of communication (Facebook, Twitter, countless gaming sites, PIT Stop Blog, even GTPlanet) we still barely hear about anything they are planning to do, if about anything at all. I think that as a customer who spent 60 euros on an unfinished product, I have the right to know if any of the major features (sound update, course maker etc) are coming to the game at all. I have the right to know if they still care about Gran Turismo or have moved to being a PR company rather than game developers.

Oh well, to bad.
I did not go far enough but unlike you, I won't hesitate on the purchase on Gran Turismo 7.

Toko Turismo, I don't mind being looked like a bad person, get that feeling everytime I step on these streets of South London.

Chill guys, we're just discussing to have a good time there.
I think he will never answer them as it was supposed to be with the pit stop blog. Maybe he will just please some people by making some updates in a far future like the sound update on GT5 or the spec 2. But PD obviously has serious problems with communication.. Like really serious.

What the hell does this have to do with PD? Can people with rose tinted glasses not make any real valid defences of their own comments that they have to make silly alternative points? In any case i always change my suplier to the best offer

Why would someone happy with a product need rose tinted glasses and then, have to defend spending their own money?

I'd buy a PS4, Project Cars, DriveClub and whatever else comes along until GT7. Better yet buy a PC and move into the sim racing world.

All I see here is the same people demanding communication in an aggressive way...what a surprise. Ironically you are not exactly trying to facilitate any developer-consumer contact yourselves at all with these foul words and yet, are surprised by the silence and continue to carry out the victim role over and over again.

I read the notion that Jordan and the rest of the staff are shown compassion for not being able to get more information from the developer about game updates. I would like to add my sympathy of having to manage a website dedicated to the game being flooded with disrespect, hysteria and overreaction... :gtpflag:

In the meantime, I am going to enjoy the game as it is and when I'm bored, play another game or do something actually useful. Simple, isn't it?
