Hug the Gamestop employee.

Er...maybe not.

I'm taking a couple days off from work. Most games here in the USA release on a wednesday (or tuesday) so I plan on taking thursday and friday off so I can play it for four days straight. :dopey:

Sorry to the op for off topic but are your times with the wheel as fast or faster than with a controller?

On the TT Demo my times with the controller were faster. I just couldn't get used to the physics enough to beat those times. I got within three tenths of my tuned time and gave up.

I'm going to hold it in one hand whilst pinching myself very $%*!ing hard with the other, just to make sure I aint dreaming!

Like most when the day that GT5 comes and it is in stores it will be like a holiday. Depending on work load or other situations will consider taking a day or more of vacation. Might consider driving around as needed to get a copy at midnight. Otherwise would be buying a copy fairly early in the morning (before 8:00 am). Make sure room, TV, sound sytem, racing wheel etc. are set up for a long few days of game play. Once home with the game, will install and watch intro video with aww and amazement. Note to self make sure PS3 has been updated before this day occurs. If there is not a world wide release there might be a need for GT5 to download some stuff to update itself. If this occurs relax, and possibly eat a quick sandwich.

Once the game is ready to be played, will spend perhaps an hour checking out all the menus and car dealerships. Than take a quick break and start into the first license test. Will most likely consider having two major game profiles (one for casual play and one for serius play). The casual game file will be used just to unlock cars etc. as soon as possible. The main game file will be a gradual but yet progressive process of doing the best as possible in all of Sim test and events with a goal of purchasing every car. Would expect that will not get to far with the main game file over the first few days. The temptation will be to high to want to try out all as many cars as possible right away. Would expect that before the first day is over will of done many races in Arcade mode and more than likely with race cars to experience the full damage. If NASCAR is in unlocked in the beginning in Arcade will certainly give that several goes. If NASCAR is not unlocked right away will strive to unlock it in the first day or two. Durring this these first few days will try and make notes on race events etc., prize money and cars won.

Might also possibly either have my brother come down for the first weekend or would go to his place. Question for all of you out there, if you have two PS3's and two copies of the game etc. would it be possible for two people in the same house hold to race online at same time?

I'll play the game non stop for 8 hours, getting lots of enjoyment from it but noticing that 800 of the cars don't have an interior. I'll fire up my computer, visit GTPlanet and start various threads moaning about those cars not having interiors. Someone will point out that Forza 3 had them and that 5 months ago we all discussed how it was unacceptable for only 200 cars to have them modelled. I'll turn on that member saying
Forza 3 isn't da most realistic game it's not dat good compared to GT5, dey don't even model da rear interiors LOLOLOLOL FLOPZA!!1!!!

Then I'll go to bed crying and sucking my own thumb.

To be frank, I'm not sure I can :indiff:

Not only is it impossible to raise costs for a PS3, TV and wheel (by the time I've saved the cash, the PS4 will be out!), but video games used to rule my life. They kept me indoors, and I was just addicted.

I promised myself that GT5 would only be something to play around on every once in a while, but I just know it's going to take over my life again. It's not good for my guitar practice... hell, my guitar could use a bit of doing up parts-wise anyway.

GT5 does look incredible, and I want it badly, but it's just going to rule my life and take away from my music studies and practice... not to mention the money involved. I can't see sinking £400+ on a video game. That would be far better used in the guitar department. I want GT5, but I don't need it like I need better gear. Plus I'd only sell it eventually anyway, because I'm off to college soon and that means studying, among other things. I wouldn't have the time.

Already book vacation for November, and EJRocky study hard that guitar :-)

I'll buy a cheap car and start racing and will keep working my way up, will do license tests when I feel like it or I need them for a specific race... Just like any other GT :P

Maybe some arcade races before that though :P

Chuck something sweet round the full 'ring, Gallardo or something. All the while enjoying around a week off work.

1. make road america in track creator
2. drive some audi's around road america
3. own the hell out of gt mode and save up for the veyron
4. sell all cars in garage and highly tune a supra
5. drift that supra until my g25 breaks

Watch the opening movie then go to the menu option and turn off all the race music, replay music, change horsepower to killerwasps, Miles to Kilometres, adjust the controller settings (no i don't have a wheel...yet) for gears and views.
Then I'll have to go back to my life

Well! Like I have said before, somewhere else.

1. Open Packaging carefully examining what I got in the special Edition!

2. PLay around with the bonus gifts...

3.admire the sls-amg and tremble with exitement (and explicit things that should not be mentioned on gtplanet :P

4. Drool over the intro

5.Drool over the tracks

6.drool over the dealerships

7.Get a BMW get it at the Nurburgring 24H circuit drool some more!

8. (If my PS3 is still working after all the drool) I will start the licsence tests!

9. explore the cool features and physics of the game

10. Keep playing it!

1. watch the intro.
2. browse all the cars and tracks.
3. do some arcade mode races.
4. transfer psp garage (i hope they are still keeping that faeture).
5. mess with the online mode.
6. driving tests.

First thing I will do is call in sick at work. Then start the career mode after a quick spin on the Top Gear test track in a Lambo :D

Go into track editor.
Create a crapload of tracks.
Buy S13 Silvia (if affordable) or R32 Skyline GTS-t (if affordable). If not, maybe an FC3S RX-7.

I'll probably install the game (if necessary) while reading the manual, watch the intro, then have a look at the tracks, then have a look through the garages. Then, I'll have a few quick races and finally, the license tests before digging into career mode.

Not gonna get too specific on which car/track to start off with. We have no idea what cars and tracks will be unlocked from the beginning.

Although top of my list is the Nurburgring 24h.

...What about you?
This sort of depends on whether or not we can carry over GT5:P progress. I believe I read that the cars we've bought/unlocked in GT5:P will be available in arcade mode, what about Career mode?

If everything carries over and I don't need to do any license tests:

1. Check out car customization
2. Buy and sell a few cars
3. Run the 'Ring for a few laps to get used to the physics engine
4. Start completing races

If nothing carries over and I need to do license tests:

1. Complete all license tests
2. Run as many races as I can to get as many [free] new cars as possible
3. Mod the cars I've won to compete in harder events
4. Start saving for cars I want
