Which car was your 1st purchase? (Or will be your 1st, if you don't have GT4 yet...)

My first car was the modded Volkswagen IV from HKS. I did do credit transfer since i don't want to get any money problems in the early stage of the game (Like i had in GT3.)

I think one can struggle when you buy a new car or transfer credits. I have found GT4 much more challenging than GT3 for some reason, whether it's because I now drive with the DFP and manual gears ... and on GT3 with DS2 and auto. ... I seriously don't know how people start with the 10000 cr. and take it from there ... probably have to do like 100 Sunday cups ... :yuck:

errr can i do credit transfer after ive played the game for a bit, whats the process, i kinda didnt give a crap about it earlier but sound interesting now.

started with an evo1. but on tranfer id start with something like a M3csl, but thats too quick for beggining so a lotus elise or something.

You can do it on the game status page by pressing start I think.

I started with the 91' honda civic sir-2 that i got for 5000 from the used car lot, actually my first was the pontiac sunfire concept, but i got that one for free so i dont really count it as my legitamate first.

First car I bought after the $100k transfer was a Holden Monaro in Yellow. Beautiful car she is.

I'll have a shared game with my brother in law and whoever else drops in and plays. It should start tonight when he gets home with a new PS2. The plan is to import the $100K and buy ten starting cars that will qualify for as many races\series as possible. The cars won from license tests will affect the choices, obviously. We've discussed buying one or two "better" cars but that's something we'll just have to see once we get into the game. The BMW M3 seems to be popular, but we're more likely to buy a Mustang and a Camaro as that's what we really like in real life.

Any suggestions on cars that qualify for the widest variety of the beginning races are appreciated. Making money isn't an issue for us, our main goal is to collect each car in the game.

depends what type of car you are looking for, a good FR for under 10.000 would be an MX-5 (anyone argues gets a slap) for over 10.000 i got the M3 CSL, add some medium tyre and no tuning and you have a top gunner.

4WD i went for an EVO 1 for under 10.000, for over that amount, you have the HUGE variety of skylines and lancers (your pick)

FF cars have a narrow choice (in my opinion) ill easily go for a (enter you favourite honda here) TYPE-R.

MR ill go for an MR2 for under 10.000, and a recing NSX for WAY over that.

dont forget RR, for that ill got for a SWEET ruf RCT (anyone who argues again gets a damn punch this time).

but in the end its what type of car you prefer to drive that finalizes things, most cheap cars are japanese ( standard balanced handling)
go for american and some european cars (british) for lairy handling.

you choice mate

I started out with a Mitsubishi FTO 👍 and i think that was a good car to start off with but after that i went 4WD with two imprezas and an elise.

:) @ 10% now with lots of cars and money!!! :)

👎 with skylines

Anything American made is my opinion. The country is going to hell quick. At least I can relive the good 'ol days driving American classic cars on a game developed by the Japanese. :yuck:

BMW 120d and HPI VW Golf R32... :sly: :sly: the BMW handles soo nice compared to all the FF cars i had been trying out. Beautifully balanced, and earning 3,000 per lap already with no mods to the engine!! :)

My first car I had was a 92 Evo. Was really a powerhouse. Sad thing is , I sold it in my cash crisis:( , to buy a Ford Lightning:)

uhu...the evo seems to be a very common choice. ive still got mine, which i use for 1/4 mile records.
