Two good tracks but lets not forget about donington park or rockingham because if japan and america have ovals, its fair the U.K. does too.

Lets not forget a fully adjustable auto cross course. with maybe some terrain height adjustments also. Then we could build the test track from top gear :)

I would love to see the gocart track I used to race on in Sudbury, northern ontario Canada...I believe it was called fastlane cart track...

thats pretty cool considering that they have never ever featured a canadian race track or a go cart track for that matter,so putting not only your go cart track you speak of but also other go cart tracks and adding canadian tracks like Trois Riveres and mosport and Mont Tremblant and the cascar Canadian tracks would be awesome. while I'm at it, they could also have the other well known street circuits like Long beach, surfer's paradise, miami and Washington DC and also the long forgotten Rovals which are Charlotte, Las Vegas, And Texas(my home track).

Watkins Glen sports and stock car course.
that would happen to be the same track, buddy. if you watched the grand am race and the nascar race last year, they used the same course so you would just say watkins glen.

To be honest, I haven't been a big Watkins Glen fan. Watkins Glen does have a long course that the Rolex Sports Cars will race on this weekend at the Six Hours at the Glen. While this seems like a nice race, it's not as big as next weekend's race- the 24 Hours of Le Mans! That is in GT4 already. But I think Bugatti (1/8 of the Circuit de la Sarthe) would make a nice Gran Turismo challenge. Kind of think about it like this- before you can take on Le Mans, you must know Bugatti first. While Bugatti is only a small part of the Le Mans endurance, it is home to the 24 Hours of Le Mans Moto, whereas names like Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Ducati, and others compete in 24-hour two-wheeled excitement.

Do you think Bugatti would be a nice challenge for GT race fans?

thats a great idea. it could be a challenge to unlock the course and with it the race and a Le mans Car. by that same token, they could have the six hours of watkins be unlocked when you win the 24 hours of daytona and the 12 hours of sebring along with the course and maybe a nextel cup car and a Rolex sports car(DP or GT). what you think about that?

Being more of an ALMS fan, I only care about three tracks for endurances- Le Mans (already in GT4), Sebring, and Road Atlanta (in Forza). Sebring is home to the 12 Hour race which can land you an invite to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Road Atlanta is the race that goes either 1,000 miles or 10 hours, whichever comes first. I think if PD puts in the Petit Le Mans endurance, they will have to set a lap limit, in case 1,000 miles has been met, rather than 10 hours. I believe to give you an idea of how many laps this is, I believe in 2000, Petit Le Mans was done up in 394 laps.

As far as Watkins Glen goes, it would probably make a nice Formula GT venue. Why so? Watkins Glen, NY, USA, has seen F1 racing in the past. You all probably know this if you've played "Grand Prix Legends."

I've got two words for you: Mid-Ohio. Man, I love that track! But the racing sims I've played either leave it out or recreate it badly. Not to mention, it is on the ALMS schedule.

while I haven't played before, thats very cool to know and maybe they could do that.

Let's see... people have mentioned tracks galore...

I was thinking not only tracks, but rally stages as well, since there are a large number that pop into my head as "classic" rally stages.

Eg: Col de Turini, Sisteron (from Rallye Monte Carlo), Hagfors (from Rally Sweden), anything from Finland for 1000 lakes (oh the yumps!).

Of course, getting some of the licencing for this would be astronomical, since ISC controls the WRC licence, (that's why you didn't see any current model WRCs in GT4). But as there are many old rally stages that aren't used anymore with the revision of rounds and the like, you can find a few that would look awesome in GT4. Besides, why not since you've got a few cars that are "rally-worthy"!

Pikes Peak in its entirety would be good as well. There's a similar thing in Queenstown NZ that would be awesome to design.

But apart from that, real life racing tracks (esp. ones that are tied to a series) are all subject to licencing agreements, in particular if you wish to represent them in their formula specification (ads etc.). Tracks will still be tracks though.

I think the obvious have sprung to mind, and a few short ovals (like the Milwaukee Mile and Bristol) along with 1-2 famous large ovals (you'll never get the IMS, Tony George would ask the earth for it!) wouldn't go astray.

I'm surprised that JP tracks like Sugo Sportsland, Okayama (TI Aida), Mine and others haven't been represented since they are on the Super-GT schedule. Always one to wonder. I would also imagine that Polyphony would pick tracks that have multi-versions of them, so as to maximise potential and minimise output (hence two versions of the Sarthe track :) )

What about a representation of a genuine test track (like Tochigi or Nardo). Frankly, Nardo would be way cooler than the current test track (if you're really up to it you could do the VW W12 24-hour test yourself!) Tracks like Jaracepuga (Rio, Brazil), Kyalami (South Africa), Zandvoort (Netherlands), Paul Ricard (in all its test track glory!) give a more international flavour. Isle of Man TT track (it's used for bikes!) is as big as the 'Ring Nordschleife but probably more dangerous since it's a genuine bit of road. Also, fictional street tracks (like the one in HK and Paris) are cool, one in London (based on the 1969 designs), Sydney Australia, LA (with its insane freeway on and off ramps!), Moscow (Red Square!), stuff that increases the international appeal.

Hope that gets people thinking.

Spa - Hands down, one of the best tracks ever built.
Road America - Best American "European Style" Road Course (Long, Sweeping and Fast)
Zandvoot - Was one of the fastest F1 tracks in its heyday
Pomona Raceway - If your going to have drag racing....
Sebring International (Current and early 60's config) - Need I Say More?

I 2nd Monza current and with the oval banks
I 2nd Imola
I 2nd Bathhurst (close to Japan, should be EASY to model)

Actually, Poly did better than alot of us thought they would do with GT4. GT5 should be the game in which there is no equal....

Too bad it will requre NEW HARDWARE to play it...

That would be awesome to see the sixtys configuration but are you talking about the original hendrick's field because if so, that would be awesome. and where are the oval banks in monza cause I never seen any.

Hi guys, :)

My wishes (hope GT5 conceptors are online ! ) are :

Spa Francorchamps : old (before 1980) and current
Bathurst
Philip Island
Brands Hatch
Festival of Speed of Goodwood track
Goodwood Revival track
TT Isle of Man track (most dangerous racetrack in the world) - around 40 km
Mille Miglia race like (historic cars + traffic)
Circuit de Pau (Monaco-like F3 racing track)
Circuit du Mas du Clos (see Michel Vaillant movie for that)
Sugo race track
Old Hockenheimring
Mugello
Elkhart Lake
Indianapolis
Watkins Glen
Road Atlanta

Last but not least : MACAU race track ! One of the greatest all time !

I think allowing a kind of Baja race kind would just be phenomenon : you recieve a GPS point to reach and you have to point when you get there. Any ways are allowed. Anyway, I think it's almost unfeasable.. But why not !

Basically, almost every track in GT4 is worthwhile, exception that braking points are hard to find.

Race like hell and try to beat my 6.43.5 with my Astra DTM (460 HP) on the Nordschleife ! :)

Tracks I think should be in there:

Daytona Road Course (put in the 24 Hours of Daytona for an Enduro)
Sebring (12 Hours of Sebring as an Enduro as well)
Road Atlanta (Petit Le Mans Enduro race)
Long Beach (not the current one, but Long Beach a la 1991, Michael Andretti and Al Unser Jr., you know, turn right at the end of the front stretch, not left)
Vancouver street circuit (the mid 90's with the tunnel)
Road America
Mid-Ohio
Watkins Glen (6 Hour enduro race)(Long course, with "The Boot")
Indianapolis (Road Course and Oval, maybe have the Indy 500?)
Spa
Silverstone
Hockenheim
Imola
Monza
Adelaide
Bathurst
Circuit Gilles Villenueve (Montreal F1)

and also the 24 hour enduros for Spa and Bathurst and don't forget the other tracks like Pheonix, Brno,, and oscherlaben.

Funny you mention Phoenix, since I live here in Phoenix! I'd thought about putting that in, but I left it out because I seriously doubt it has any chance of ever making it in.

But it is an awesome track, I've been there for road course and oval races! As soon as my car is running, I'm gonna go participate in some NASA events there.

your a native of phoenix that is awesome but don't give up hope because that track offers a unique challenge so its still a possibility considering they never really had a track of that long so something new to look forward to. by the way, enjoy the nascar and rolex sports car races at PIR.
