Ben Affleck destroys every film he touches. Armageddon and Pearl Harbor would have been crap enough without his presence.

Is Ben Affleck Smarter than He Appears?

According to legiaodosherois.com.br, (In Portugese) via the Hollywood Reporter, it appears that Ben Affleck wanted a multi picture deal with a raise after his best pal Ryan Gosling backed out of the role.

Once it became clear to the actor that this would only continue the Man of Steel storyline, he jumped on board.

The deal also gives Affleck the first crack at directing Justice League, which the actor is expected to act in as part of the deal.

Nope. Nope. Nope.

Pretty good actor and director but he's no Batman. It's like the guy who voices Batman in the new cartoon, also full of "nope".

The voice actor in Beware the Batman is fine I think. However, as much as I loved Argo, I still am not sold on him doing the batman or any superhero for that matter ever. With so many great choices at their disposal I would have thought Gordon-Levitt or Michael Fassbender would have been the obvious choices...guess not. I've been trying to ignore this though for the past few days since I heard about it and being a massive batman fan I just am not happy.

Who will write it though, surely not him I hope? He's good, but I just don't think he has the ideals to make a great superhero movie that will beat Ultron/Avengers at the movies.

Probably Zach Snyder with David Goyer scripting. Snyder did well with 300, so I can trust him with JL. You also have to remember though, the only reason why The Avengers worked so well not because of the cast or the story, but it was the director that understood the comics formula that was ultimately the sum of their parts.

I think WB made a terrible mistake by not continuing the Nolan-verse, but on the other hand, I think that Batman needs a fresh start, and Affleck could be that start.

Ben Affleck is the new Batman

Wait what?? :dunce:

I think Bale and Nolan wanted to stop after the trilogy which is a shame but for Nolan's grounded take on the Batman Movies it wouldn't have worked I guess to do a JL movie.

How is someone a coward for sticking to their original artistic vision? He only wanted a trilogy, he only did a trilogy.

I think WB is royal screwing things up if they let Affleck be the director of JL, I don't think he really has the chops (unless he reads up in the next year) to direct comic book movies, but he may surprise. I think if given the right direction he might be a good Batman, I still think Fassbender would have been a much better Batman that is being looked for by Snyder. Also since Miller's Batman is one of my favorites I only hope Affleck can pull it off since that is the version the makers seem to be going for.

That is correct the type of Batman was more realistic and not someone that lived in a more intergalactic universe portrayed in DC comics. Nolan-verse Batman doesn't need a JL, because Batman alone is sufficient enough to face those that plague Gotham and the world.

We can forget the Tumbler as the Batmobile. According to IGN, via Batman on Film, the Batmobile in the Batman vs. Superman film will be based on a caddie.

"The Batmobile is currently being designed and built by General Motors at the GM Advanced Design Studio in North Hollywood. This is the same team who most recently designed and built the vehicles for Transformers 4 with Michael Bay. … It will definitely NOT have a military look like The Tumbler from [Chris] Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy."

"As of about four weeks ago, it was still 'pictures on the wall' – meaning nothing had actually been built yet. An 'old Cadillac' will feature prominently in the film. When I remarked to my source that the Cadillac Sixteen concept car from a few years back looked a lot like a Batmobile, he stayed mum."

Batman on Film notes that the Batmobile that made its appearance in the 1943 serial is indeed based on a caddie, and upon further personal research, the caddie in question is a 1939 Cadillac Series 75. The car in question in the serial is Bruce Wayne's personal car that noted its function on the position of the hood. If the top is up, it is the Batmobile, if it is down, it is Mr. Wayne's personal car.

Much more subtle.

Affleck is too beady-eyed to be Batman. Batman has to have a strong face and be handsome, if not imposingly so. Affleck would be a fantastic Nightwing though.

So like Clark Kent's glasses.

Gotta say I'm not impressed there.

That's not what the article was saying at all. It was saying that the new Batmobile would be based on a real world car, much like the 1960's series where that Batmobile was based on a 1955 Lincoln Futura, and Wayne will drive another car. The only reason why I suspect that the 1943 serial, and later the 1949 serial, was like that to begin with was that there wasn't many posh cars at the time in production, and the producers of the serial had no real way to obtain more modern cars to use as Wayne's personal car, so they made do with what they had. In that fashion, the 1960's Batman show broke barriers for that precise reason.

The 1989 film, and all subsequent films after it, really ruined the reputation of the car as they were all custom jobs that required weeks, if not months, of assembly and engineering to make right.

I, for one, am glad that the car is sort of returning to its roots.

At this point it would take the best HBO/ REDBOX movie I've ever seen to make me think a Batman-Superman movie wasn't a horrible idea.

Seriously, still in disbelief Ben Aflack is going to play batman while Zack Snyder tries to pull together a movie. :(

(edit: tried to insert kevin smith batman going for deathstar killer in mallrats, gif didn't link :( )

Just point where. :indiff:

Let's face it. We know that it is happening. The question is when. One rumor has it pegged after Justice League. Another has it sooner than we thought. The timing is really irrelevant in the whole scheme of things, questions like actor, producer and director who is willing to deal with the aftermath of the Justice League movie(if it comes at all at this point) should come to mind at this point.

I have $15,140 in monopoly money that all three things are already found, and further still, they are one and the same person!!! (emphasis added)

Ladies and Gentleman, may I present the next (solo) Batman, Producer and Director of the Batman heritage left behind by Chris Nolan:

The money is waiting.

Based on the editorial found on Batman on Film(see the link). Overall, giving Affleck the reigns to the Batman franchise, based on these comments, sounds like a pretty good idea as his work behind the camera is usually top notch stuff(see Argo). The question remains though is will WB change plans like they usually do when they find someone better suited(or not suited in some cases) for the job down the line if Justice League, or even Batman vs. Superman bombs.

If WB are smart they wont play the role of an indecisive teenage girl like they've done in the past and just keep it as is. Not messing too much around with the Nolan works was a success and they should run with that. Also Suerpman wasn't too bad so they should just stick to what is working for them

Also I agree with you on the car @Sanji Himura I too would like to take a trip back to my child hood, I like the nolan-verse version but I'd rather see a more cool and sleek car that is realistic as well.

Big News out of DC today. Gal Gadot has been selected as the new Wonder Woman. Gadot has been previously seen in the Fast and Furious series(though I can't recall which one), and all signs point to an appearance in MOS2. Good move? Debate here.

Ben Affleck suffering that leg injury seems like a bit of a troll more and more each day as Henry Cavill has been crawling the local hangouts in MI recently, as these pictures from fans prove:

Henry-Cavill-533x400_zps6f9cbcdd.jpg

That's Cavill on the left in this picture.

Henry-Cavill-3-400x400_zps080c3b40.jpg

Cavill is on the right on this one.

Henry-Cavill-2-225x400_zps3d5dc474.jpg

Cavill is again on the left.

And with a few drinks, comes loose lips as Cavill announced that Man of Steel 2(or Batman vs. Superman) is already in principle production. In case you don't know what that term means, it is Hollywood speak for "IT'S FILMING!" Cavill also announced a few things during his bar crawl:

1. Cavill was sporting a beard during his bar crawl. (Which according to the Latino-Review, means that Superman would have spent some time in exile)
2. Cavill will be filming for the next 10 months.
3. Cavill is on a strict training regimen.

I think that this settles some conflicts between DC and WB, who have in the past issued some conflicting statements about the status of the film, like, “We’re delaying production to fine-tune!” “NO, WE’RE NOT! THERE ARE NO DELAYS!“ I personally now think that the extra 10 months was just a ruse to get JL filmed.
