Why do people like loud music while driving?

Nothings better than blasting UK rap in the ghetto.

Because everytime I do that it gets blown up into a giant discussion about "how I'm wrong" when I don't agree with something or someone disagrees. I made my view known. It's done now.

You're always wrong, ALWAYS.

People choose to become pissed off at the moment. It's a conscious decision of theirs right then and there. Most people don't let it bother them. But there's a few, like you, that take it to the limit.

Just like people choose to play their music too loud.

Ok, how aboutCOPD then, or EMPHYSEMA, or any other of a myriad of lung disorders and diseases. Just because you've never heard of it doesn't keep it from happening. My point still stands. You're purposely intending to cause bodily harm over a perceived slight done to you by someone who is just out enjoying their day. Keep on with your own why don't you.

You know that loud music causes hearing damage, right? If they're damaging my hearing, then why should I care if they have a cough for the rest of the day?

The key word here is "unintentional". Again, the disrespect part is perceived. You've taken it as them being disrespectful. Attitude counts for much of a persons reaction in these situations.

Again, it is completely possible to be unintentionally disrespectful.

Please don't pretend to speak for the entire population by saying "collective annoyance of everyone". You need to be aware that there are undoubtedly individuals out there that like to hear loud music coming from someones car. And there are individuals out there who choose to not let it bother them, to not become annoyed to begin with. And again you admit that you are trying to make people choke.

Everyone I know dislikes those who play loud music in their car.

Bit of an exaggeration there don't you think?

In no way is that more of an exaggeration than you accusing me of 'trying to make people choke'. I don't even have a diesel truck. Please don't pull conclusions out of your ass.

I know, you don't want your kid to be subjected to foul language while out in public. Get this, you're out in public, where the hell do you think he's going to get it from if not there? It'll be at school, or the park, or the mall, or grocery store, or some other place with you next won't it? For people like you, there's no place safe for your precious little ones besides at home. Keep on sheltering them from everything. They'll grow up not knowing what the world is really like and then they'll be in for a real treat someday.

I don't even know how having a kid is related to me not wanting my well-being interfered with.

And lastly, for what it's worth(which is my own 2 cents), but of the two people on the road, the guy thumping his bass, or you shooting off your chunky diesel exhaust and your mouth, which would I prefer to have as a friend or acquaintence, well it sure ain't you.

I'm so hurt.

If he has his windows up an you so to he could have his music at 200db and it wouldn't cause you issues hearing wise with today's sound deadening.

Georgia is bad for rap. I was walking in to a gas station a week or two ago, and this is what the dude in his "Pimpin'" 2.2 Camry was blasting (censored for the AUP):

B:censored: N:censored: N:Censored: N:Censored:.

Not cool. And the "Music" that accompanied the lyrics was awful. I understand some people like it, but please: keep it to yourself in a parking lot, stoploght, neighborhood, and banks (Yes, there are people that disrespectful).

IF they have their widows up and IF they have a new enough car with this sound deadening from the gods materials, maybe then. But when you're rolling up to a light, are you really looking around to see what vehicles are there to adjust your volume accordingly?

Note: If you say yes, I won't believe you for a second.

I do sometimes turn my music up to about Volume Level 12 in my motor - but that's only because once you've got up to speed - the wind and road noise from the Vauxhall is so horrific!

If I have the windows closed and get to traffic lights - I'll only turn it down slightly so other's cannot hear my awful taste in music - but if I have the windows down - then I'll turn it right down! I do admit, other's who don't do this annoy me a lot (unless they're playing music I like); most annoying thing about it though is if they're playing the same Radio Station as me and there is some lag between both cars as you heard the song twice and out of sync! :indiff:

When I was in a taxi back home from school, some blockhead turned up the radio as far as it will go. I told them to shut up. Only for them to turn it up even further. That prompted me to open the door (at 30 mph), bail out, and give them the finger in disgust. I now have a migraine, and I will have a migraine FOR SEVERAL WEEKS.

I'm sorry, but I find this story somewhat amusing!

He could have separate volume controls. Not uncommon on large systems, or anything that has an Auxilary/cassette deck or USB port.. I have an amp with a volume control setting on it, and with my ipod plugged in, I could nearly double the volume since I can control another volume setting on it.

What do you not understand about "turned up as far as it will go"?

What do you not understand about being able to turn up multiple devices all the way separately? There's really no saying what happened unless the guy clarifies.

Usually when you like a song, you turn it up, which means you don't care how loud it is and could careless what people think around you.

We have all done this lol.

But it was just a Fiat Doblo...

I don't tend to listen to music while driving, depends on my mood.

I'd prefer to listen to music without the interference of road and wind noise anyway.

And people who play their music loudly do tend to get on my nerves, I'm quite happy for you to listen to your music but why do you have to share it with the rest of the world. Have some consideration.
