Quick question, if we do get weather in GT5, do you think we'd be allowed to race NASCARs in the wet?

I would think so on the road courses, however I don't think any car will be able to race on an oval in the rain.
If PD portrays Nascar right, then I will be spending a lot of time chase 42 cars in a circle.
hey speaking of 42 cars in a circle, did anyone spot more than 16 cars on the NASCAR grid in the GT5 trailer?
Aren't there only 2 events in the whole (Formula 1) season where overtaking occurs?[/sarcasm]Isn't there only 2 events in the whole season that aren't ovals though?
Dream on, im amazed PS3 can pull of 16 of that quality.
if your amazed im going to take it your not that big of a tech nerd then. but to answer the question no there where only 15 (or 16 cant remember) cars shown in the trailer.
Despite the fact that there has been at least one oval course since GT2?but nascar is different with just left turns in oval circuit. that is not gran turismo style.
Its also not directly comparable to PC games in any way because the PS3 is standardized and PCs are not. You would be amazed how much power you can squeeze out of a GPU when you don't have to muck about with programming for multiple chipsets.ps3 only has a geforce 7 card, the one in my 3 year old laptop is better.

Probably not, no, but it isn't like the 8800 series is some kind of substandard piece of crap these days.True, but I'm pretty sure you wont see too many current gen console games that look better than what runs on an 8800 card.

First you have to find something that looks better, I have a 4870X2 and am not too impressed with what is on offer yet (I have tried almost all the top graphics games).
My point was that even though the PS3 graphics are better than the 7000 series cars they are based on, they still aren't so good that they are better than what an 8800GTS can do.
I'm well aware that PC games haven't improved much beyond what requires an 8800GTXThe main advantage you'll get going from an 8800GTX to a more recent high end card is a smoother framerate (opposed to an actual increase in graphical quality).
Im not convinced it will increase sales.
What I have noticed amongst my US friends from Forza is the general lack of interest for GT5. It seems the only racing game that exists is Forza 3 and thats it. However I also have friends from Australia and obviously Europe and their attitude is completely different with many of them planning on buying both.
This might ruffle a few features in what im about to say but I wonder if this preference from the US for Forza 3 is simply down to Turn 10 being an american developer. I cannot really think of another explanation for my friends attitudes.

Nothing will stop you from taking the Nascar racecars to Francorchamps or the Nordschleife. Perhaps even Mount Panorama.Spa Francorchamps's Eau Rouge it's nuts, nurburing is nuts.. not that.
