Why no tyre marks in every GT so far?

From the numbers it doesnt seem to be a straight decline as GT2 sold less than GT1 making it more of a pattern that the odd number GT sells more than the even numbered... and you did say no marks affects sales, which is silly.

A drop of 1 million from GT to GT2 compares to a drop of 5 miliion from GT3 to GT4? There were far more PS2 consoles sold than PS consoles and, let's not forget the 4 year development time for GT4 compared to 2 years for GT2. Yes it is in decline and yes you don't have a clue. Oh, and no, I never said tyre marks will have an impact on sales. In fact I said the contrary, you obviously haven't read the thread properly or are just talking wet. I go for option 2. ;)

EDIT: Funny how a post about declining sales figures for GT franchise has caused such a stir...

You took my posts out of context, I was referring to Damage and the whole ignoring all the features GT fans want as it will still continue to sell regardless. Regardless, you're just looking for an argument and if I lower myself down to your level you'll beat me with experience... So whatever you say. :)

GT5 will tank because it has no skid marks. I know this because I'm an expert.

There is the thread topic, the first post and a bunch of questions you could answer or opinions to disscuss regarding Tyre Marks. But what you can manage is the above. You seem like an expert...

I picture you say that to yourself a lot..

But yea... markings! an important feature, should be a bullet point I say!
Why is it not in? and why is my smoker not in? I blame PD

-Kidding aside, tyre marks are cool but nothing to get wet about.

..."more flame bait"

Yes I do. ;) I use to allow myself to get drawn into these long winded arguments that never got anywhere because the other parties, posters like yourself, were only interested in derailing the thread and ridiculing the thread poster. But now I know better...

On Topic and without feeding the Trolls:

Could it really really be that the engine as it's designed by PD would take too much of a FPS hit if dynamic tyre marks were visually simulated? I suppose with 16 cars on track, 1080p resolution and such detailed car models it's understandable. Still, I can't stop thinking that such an omission in contrast to other super polished visual aspects is glaring. Maybe KY will think the same and find a way. There is always a way. I mean those guys are miracle workers.

how many times do we have to discuss this topic???

at the end of the day its not important. Look at the sales figures of EVERY GT game, nobody cares

Well let`s take a second to think about it,obviously this "topic" is continously raised so it`s safe to say that a large number of GT fans sorely miss this feature in all of the games. I know i do largely miss it, and can`t understand why it is not included in the previous games :ouch: I REALLY CANT! :ouch:
Saying no one cares will have a large number of people turn on you.

Reverse lights would be nice and cool to have too,but i can live without it. As for the people bitching about the detail of the leaves on the trees.....well thats another story

Bigger question

Why no reverse lights in every GT so far?

Every time I back up in GT I shake my head

Huh! If you need to be reversing in GT,then you`ve got bigger problems than needing reverse lights :P:

Exactly, why do the leafs on the trees look so 2D? I want to see every individual leaf blowing in the wind as I drive by at 200mph. And don't give me that "I can't see it as I'm going too fast and have to concentrate on the road" business. I want to pause the game and go into photomode and be able to see it then. I mean, it is supposed to be the real driving simulator. I want it real!:banghead:

Hehe! Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but it sure is funny.

I wouldn't mind seeing marks. I agree it's not a dealbreaker but it's just another small feature that adds to the realism.

Are you... laughing at your own joke? XD

Yes, I was and had a good time about it. So..., I hope this isn't a problem for you, not upseting your world in any way, that someone is having a laugh at their own joke. If it is, you could always call the forum police and complain that someone is having a good time on GTP forums. Say it isn't so!:scared:

Do tyre marks make your car handle better or go faster? ummm... no? 💡 PD has been concentrating on the essence of driving the car. and with every new game they've gotten better and closer to their goals.

Don't want to be a smartass, but there also has been a slight focus on decent graphics, correct shadows, moving grass etc. So that should have included tyre marks IMO. If I was a journalist, I would ask this one first, hehe.

I don't tyre marks are that important. I would like to see them in the game, but i would prefer to have good, thick smoke instead. That looks better in a replay, and when you are drifting/burnouts. That is important.

As would the reverse lights. Sure you wouldn't want to always be in a predicament that has you gazing at your reverse lights for kicks instead of winning races that just stupid. Both the tire marks and reverse lights are not going to affect GT5 sales at all whatsoever if not included in the game series, but adding the two would be simple added realism to the game. And if GT5 were to have the 2 added on I'm sure no one would notice until the second day or within the first week with GT5.

Thus this comment is stupid as well 👎, what ecxtly is the "bigger problem' he is having in GT, because from GT1 to GTPSP I've been shaking my head at no reverse lights, so what exactly is the bigger problem I clearly must be having this 'bigger problem' too and I am not some new fool to the game that takes my cars off into trees, grass, and barriers, instead of to 1st place.

yeah.. but to do that, they would need to do some research of tyre width, what kind of tyre marks certain compound leaves etc etc.. I'd be more thrilled if they'd finally get the engine sounds spot on with both stock exhaust and tuned ones.. oh, and the buzzer for the RX-7/8 and Corolla GT-Apex

:grumpy:
D'OH! Just use the bumpercam...

:dopey:

Good humor, I just found this one funny. As much as I'd push for the minimal details, if I push for em at all, the reverse lights and skid marks/tire marks I wouldn't notice right away because I don't use the bumper camera.

Why don't you get it that tyre marks are not only a visual effect, but also can help to determine how and where your opponents brake and accelerate ?? Duh.

It should only be visible for one or two laps, that's good enough and doesn't fill the vram unnecessary.
As for reverse lights, well they're just as important than all other lights on a car I'd think. It's simply embarrassing, the oh so real driving simulator doesn't let you control them!

Oh and if you never have to use reverse in GT, you're probably not going fast enough, btw. ;)

Yes, but they have MOVING GRASS! :scared:

But seriously, it would be a little hard to do, but come on, not that hard. Ofcourse there are more important things such as correct sounds. But don't you think that reflections are much harder to do that tyre marks, so tyre marks should be much easier to make. It wouldn't be so much of a hassle I think. It's not needed, but it's nice to see in a replay when you power oversteer out of a corner and you see the results of it. It's the details that matter.

Skid marks are a big part of the game for me. Honestly if they announce skid marks i'd jump in joy.

It will not stop me from getting the game. They are important though so do not downplay the idea.

The reverse lights I do not really care about though.
