It could happen but does the delay mean that their adding the Super GT cars? Or just more photo modes?
Or simply polishing the game and getting it to run at a consistent 60 fps to be ready for VR, something it has yet to achieve. Why delay and miss the holiday season for content when they could just release it, grab the sales and promise lots of free cars if you pre-order? Makes no sense as a strategy to miss out on the holiday season unless the core of the game isn't ready. It could happen but does the delay mean that their adding the Super GT cars? Or hopefully some Kei cars.It could happen but does the delay mean that their adding the Super GT cars?
GT500 cars are more like Gr.1 mate. The last Japanese versions of the cars were 10th's of a second behind privateer LMP1's at Fuji. In the first year of the DTM car they were faster than the LMP1 Audi. They are slower now but that is their level of pace generally.Or hopefully some Kei cars.
I have nothing against Super GT cars, but it is likely they are going to be very close or identical to Gr.3 class cars. I would rather see more diverse racing categories (e.g. 80' touring cars, old IMSA, etc.) even if that means leaving SGT cars out.
Ah, that could be the missing link - class Gr.2! It makes sense given how half of the cars haven't been revealed yet, so at least SGT could fit into this category. However, being Gran Turismo, I'm sure GT500's will sneak their way in, above the pace of Gr. 3, but behind Gr. 1.
Maybe they (finally) heard people not so happy about GT6 sterile racing and slow AI so they are going for a major overhaul of the core game? Maybe they realize they need to improve it, livery editor is a good step into what people wants.Or simply polishing the game and getting it to run at a consistent 60 fps to be ready for VR, something it has yet to achieve. So, while almost every game delay in the history of video games is for polishing and adding finishing touches, your theory is that Gran Turismo is somehow special, that the game was finished and ready to release, but, presumably, they read some posts on a message board and decided to skip a holiday season release to do a major overhaul of the game? They've literally had years to work on the AI, but just now realized it was slow and sterile?Maybe they (finally) heard people not so happy about GT6 sterile racing and slow AI so they are going for a major overhaul of the core game? I don't know, maybe Kaz had an idea of GT Sport, heard the not so positive feedback and changed his mind. We live in the "social" era and even people stuck in the 90's like PD can be influenced sooner or later. The whole GT Sport idea is a completely different Gran Turismo game from previous iterations. So, while almost every game delay in the history of video games is for polishing and adding finishing touches, your theory is that Gran Turismo is somehow special, that the game was finished and ready to release, but, presumably, they read some posts on a message board and decided to skip a holiday season release to do a major overhaul of the game? *Cough Cough* "2 years later" *Cough Cough*Occam's razor applies here IMO, the simplest explanation is probably correct, they just weren't ready to launch the game in November because not enough of it was finished. We have all the evidence in the demo versions that featured the same content event after event and even the stuff that was in them wasn't fully finished, cars didn't have interiors, most of the tracks looked barren and unfinished.
The only question we then have is have they delayed it just enough to finish what they already had or have that added on even more time to change/add things? We'll have to wait and see.
You can make a one make race class out of literally any car, but it carries more weight and would be taken more seriously if the cars were from actual one make race series. Many of the cars that are or have been in one make race series are already associated with Gran Turismo. Renault Clio, Nissan Micra, Toyota 86, Volkswagen Jetta and Scirocco, and many others. There's also many series that aren't represented in any other console game like the Star/Pro Mazda Series, Formula Renault, Formula 4 and lots of others.Another idea to increase the car count would be the "one make races" classes, something like iRacing where they have 1 single car for a series. We need an LMP2, a Vintage LeMans, a Group C car, a Formula 1ish, a Formula 3ish, some sort of Caterham / KTM. Most of these cars can be fantasy cars. Doesn't have to be license models.
In my opinion Project Cars did a good job without wasting too much money on licensing.
Yes we can have a one make race with any car and the ones that are in real lifes can gather more interest, but a fantasy LMP2 or LMP3 car with paintable liveries can surely become something quite hot in no time. Racing can have many different disciplines, Since this is not GT7 I think it's not how many cars we can drive. It's about how many discipline we can drive.
It works with iRacing because they're serious about the game. GT has those type of people, but for every one hardcore guy, there's a hundred more casuals.Another idea to increase the car count would be the "one make races" classes, something like iRacing where they have 1 single car for a series. Nope.I really love Gran Turismo Sport and I play it more than any other games I play ,,but
As PD stated this is a "SPORT" sim not GT7..hmmm..so lets stick to race cars instead of useless road cars..
If we really want road cars please add an option for in game buying body kits..to convert them into race ready cars
everything from JGTC..and Super GT(old and new) German and British league ...from Australia and Asia..and focus on more tracks
If we need to have trucks???lets have a line up of "Monster Jam " Monster trucks in a competition????..NO SUMBA BUS from VolksWagen
Stick to the "SPORT MODE"please....and then lets make GT7 for PLaystation5
