As a fan of the series, if I was one of those who never played a GT game...I won´t buy GT6 after the demo.
Unplayable from cockpit view because of the frame drops, shadows and texture pop up everywhere, the horrible AI (which I know that it is just there to put some traffic in the game and it is not even close to the Arcade mode of GT5), those bugs at Silverstone ("invisible walls" in some curves) and the engine sounds...
I´ll probably get other game.
PD is publishing this game for the fans more than for the rest of possibly new customers.
Also I feel that the game is "starting to feel old" because of the content...they are using almost the same tracks for a decade and a half (there are new ones, great and with features as day/night cycles and weather, as it should be), the events are boring because of the bad AI and are almost exactly the same since the first game...so we are actually playing the same game over and over again if you think about it.
Playing GT5 was like playing GT4 but with less features and events, or "half made" ones like the 24hr races without AI´s to help us out at least as an option like in GT4.
Kaz is always talking about perfection or drama and such things, but he is improving in some areas...forgetting others and not adding too much to the fun and racing aspect of the game.
We now have online and that is good, and other cool things...but I always bought GT for the single player and it should be good and it should be changed just because of the sake of the game itself and the whole series.
This is not Fifa or PES which are about football that you know what is it going to be with its slight improvements each year...GT feels like that for me lately. (I´m 28 and play GT since the first one)
You can add new cars, new tracks and improve the graphics...that is cool but the content and the features should be good executed and at the same time varied.
There is not too much to add to a racing game but "we" (some) are always asking for what it is missing...and that is what can make the game not just better for us, but for others who never played a GT game.
If sounds don´t call your attention in a racing game you won´t buy it, if it comes without cool features (livery editors, customization overall...hell check the new GTA V trailer and watch how you can customize your cars, I was like O_O and it is not even a racing game...)...etc etc...
I´m going to buy it for sure because it is a GT game but the game need a complete overhaul in tons of areas...change names of the series for the sake of it and make proper "fake" leagues similar to the ones in real life with different names (FIA GT with the GT Cars in the game), put realistic engine sounds in the cars, the livery editor and freedom with colours, customization for the cars and for the parts (change size of wheels, spoilers, etc), features...better finished than half made ones, if we have weather and day/night cycles put that in all tracks, etc...
The game is huge, it has a lot of cars and content but some games with less cars (most of the simulators on PC) and less content make a more entertained experience and they give you just the proper features that you really need and not those that you won´t need in a racing game.
If one day GT changes something, it will still be Gran Turismo...shooters get boring, football games get boring...EVOLUTION is what makes them playable and enjoyable till these days.
Same needs to happen with GT...it needs to evolve into something more than 1000+ cars, and tons of features.
/Rant over...I know TL DR. At least you know I was really pissed with the demo now...(got all golds fast and I don´t want to touch it any more...)
