If I want to sim Race I will play Project Cars or some proper PC sim.
Pcars is a sim? Huh, I thought it was just NFS Shift with better graphics

EDIT: I mean I guess you could consider Shift a sim. It would be easy to call Shift a sim, until you start driving, that is. Then it just becomes your typical NFS game. Pcars is pretty much the same.

No. Demo was underwhelming. I complained a lot for stuff like AI, sound and livery editor but I really wasn't expecting frame drops and nasty aliasing.
They have a long way to go.

No it's not. Have you played pCARS? I doubt it.

I was actually considering PCars after GT6, it looks promising. Anyway, the answer to the question is one, big YES!

@ the negative people
This "demo" isn't even a real demo, it's just nissan's gta 2013 with pd physic and graphic.
The menu and menu-pre race and music are nice, but they're not going to be like that in the final game anyway.
The ia... ok gt doesn't have a good one but this is too much to think it's going to be like that on the final game, it absolutely looks like "here, some cars moving on the track", and that's the only reason it's here imo.
So, to make it simple, we don't have ANY feature of the game on this demo, you really think this shows how the game is? Lol
Anyway, one thing that we have it's the physics (again, it's the definitive one? who knows) and i'm having fun driving even the leaf, one thing we have and one thing i like. That's a good start. I already wanted to buy and this demo didn't changed my idea, so i can vote yes.

Do you have any fact to back up your statement?
Explain why we can count only positive notes like physics and then we can say "lol AI will not be like that". Facts please. GTAcademy or GT6 Demo this is what they throw us.

I have, and I've seen tons of gameplay videos.

What is your username at WMD? I only ask because I was as skeptical as anyone that pCARS would be like shift but except the graphics engine they're now nothing alike at all.

...can you really think gt6 can be like that? 4 cars, 4 track..no upgrades no tuning no photo mode..no anything? I hope thats obvious for everyone, ok pd makes mistake but LOL
We really have only one thing, even graphic probably can't have max performance with only one gb.

About the AI..the only fact we have is that it's WAY worst than gt5 they are REALLY just moving, it's too bad, really. You don't even need an ai in a demo where you basically just need to do time trials if you think about it.
Just read the main menu', "Powered by gt6" they just decided to add something more to gt academy (those four race) to incourage more people (not interested in gt academy) to download it.
The real demo was the e3 one imo, they decided to use instead gt ac probably because the business around this contest.

I have to respectfully disagree!

I have found the FFB in S2 to be better than GT5, every single time I hit the curb or grass I can feel it through the steering wheel, same with loss of traction and wheel spin...as I already mentioned too, I can even feel the change in transmission through the wheel.
My experience with Shift 2 was using a copy on the XBox 360 with a Fanatec TurboS wheel. basically the major issue was the FFB was horrible.

Example. I jump in a stock tuned mediocre road car and take it to the track. My wheel is set to the same thing I would normally use for Forza. So I start to drive and at first it feels ok, steering is nice an tight until I start to move then once I reach a few mph there is no feel of the road at all, it is so bad that I can not even feel the center and almost impossible to even drive in a straight line. Yet if I hit a curb or drive off track then the FFB kicks in hard but absolutely no feel of the road.

I tried a lap around Nurburgring in I think it was a GT3 BMW or something like that and I must have been off track around 70 times due to the horrible feedback on the wheel. Never have I experienced something that felt so bad even the old non FFB spring wheels felt better than that POS

Eventually I played around with all the various wheel settings and manged to at least get it to where you could feel the center and drive straight then I did another lap around the ring and got a clean lap with about 75 perfect corners according to the game but it still did not feel anywhere near as good as Forza or GT.

The end result was that the game hit the shelf and began to collect dust never to be played again.

My brother had both the XBox version and the PC version and told me the PC version did not feel nearly so bad in fact he actually picked up the Xbox version after having played the PC version briefly. He got the Xbox version so we could race online together but after about 30 minutes he had enough and tossed it.

I have no idea how it feels on the PS3 but I would never waste a dollar on it to find out, it really was that bad. A couple of my friends have it on Xbox and they actually recommended it but I guess they had been smoking something that had them in an altered state or something.

If you like it that is fine but for me it is nothing more than garbage.

I will buy it, just not at launch though. I'll wait for the revised edition that includes every DLC at a lower price.

Playing the demo the yesterday, after months of not touching GT5, I just realized I've burnt through my passion for Gran Turismo. Time to move on to something else and get back to it some time in the future. And whenever I feel the need for driving, I'll just pop GT5 in.

With that said, I think I'll probably end up getting it as soon as possible. :P

Yes. Midnight launch like GT5. I may have numerous gripes with GT5 but I've still put at least 400+ hours into it. If GT6 ia even alightly better I will probably put in a similar amount of playing time.

Yes I will buy it based on this demo, but I do expect optimisations to be carried out over the next few months to address the issues this demo has.

I have played GT from the 1st game on ps1 and am amazed by some of the comment here.

The demo ( and academy) physics are a MASSIVE improvement. eg. the leaf (a pile of poo in the real works and gt5) now gives lift off oversteer that never existed in GT5.
6 will bring new cars and tracks and more to follow monthly by DLC
Lighing and car count improved.

These things we now know as fact.

GT 7 on ps4 is at least 18months away, in my opinion.
There is no other playstation racer that comes close to what even gt5 delivers.

I very rarely buy ps3 games, not because I can't afford them but, because even 2 & 1/2 years I still get my fun from racing friends in a fantastic competitive online community (GTARENA & GBRC).

Gt5 has problems in many areas and is far from perfect but for a long time its still been the best there is for ps3. GT 6 will improve on that in many ways, some already proven by the demo, some of the anounced features may disapoint in their implementation others will probably be better than I expect, regardless GT6 will give me more than 5 does and I will probably be playing it close to 2 years from now racing a great bunch of guys all looking forward to GT7 on PS4.

That is unless something better comes along and there is nothing even close on the horizon to my knowledge.

In short £50 for a game ghat I am going to play several hours a week for a year or more is a bargain, even if I specd another £10 every month post launch on car and track DLC.

I won't be buying it based on the demo, but that's because I've been intending to buy it since before the demo was released. So far I've yet to see, experience or read anything to dissuade me from said purchase but of course that may change if something I consider "serious" comes to light in the coming months. Granted there are some issues within the demo itself, but I usually take development period demos with a grain of salt.

I'd have sworn I already replied to this topic, but I don't see it. Maybe it was an identical topic on another board, but I swear it was here.

I don't see a poll option that fits me. The poll suggests that purchase of GT6 will be based on the demo. For me, it has nothing to do with the demo, but rather would be in spite of the demo. The demo is lousy, but I'm not holding that against the game. It won't affect my decision to buy the game. The GT5 demo was even worse, from what I remember, but I still generally liked GT5.

I will probably buy the game, but not because of the demo. I can't go with option "Yes" because the question is if I would buy the game based on the demo. I can't go with the last option because I'm not a devoted fanboy that will buy all things GT no matter what. I'm left with no choice but "No" even though I will probably buy, just because the wording of the poll.
