I am more of a motorsports enthusiast. I am not a fanatic of drag racing, but I surely don't mind drag racing. It's perfectly fine not to like drag racing for whatever reason. All I'm saying is that drag racing is as distinctive of motorsport as F1, rally, and even NASCAR. At least drag racing is a proper arena to make proper use of those High-RPM range engine upgrades. Even for someone whom has fond memories of kicking plenty of butt in Gran Turismo 1 in a 930hp Mitsubishi GTO/3000GT, drag racing would absolutely be a proper arena for high-end horsepower tuning.

GT1... those were the days. The Megaspeed Cup brings back fond memories. Sorry to go off-topic! Anyhow, you at least have to agree that if you're going to have high-end horsepower tuning, that drag racing is a great place to make the most of those high-end horsepower upgrades.

Agreed with Post #15 from Strittan in response to 05XR8... are you nuts? Reaction time helping you determine what kinds of cars for you to race? Practicing reaction time should be a skill to master; not a gateway to faster cars. Hell, practicing your launch and reaction time should be something you should master with Standing Start races and Standing Start license tests.

The two real things that can be practiced for drag racing would be getting good reaction times and practicing making timely shifts. You have to try to get a great reaction time at launch while also knowing the right times to shift to get the most speed out of your car. Part of the reason why people don't like drag racing is because they don't generally care for the science and tactics of drag racing. It isn't about just going in a straight line. Then too, that's another thing about drag racing- trying to keep that land missile going cleanly down the strip can be like trying to wrestle a bronco or a bull. You have to try to make your car hook down the track even if you aren't getting too much grip. Speaking of grip, I wonder what it would be like if you had lane choice in a traditional drag racing tournament.

Just a lot of things to think about, especially for getting drag racing done right.

How is it nuts? When you go to a proper strip, you are NOT in a Top Fueler first day. sorry! If you have the cash to buy an E63 AMG and wish to run at a track then fine. I agree. It's all about practice. BUT IN THE GAME AFTER YOU HAVE COMPLETED A TEST FOR A CHALLENGE, it seems fine to see how well you have done. Same can be said for drifting. You may think you're pretty good, then online someone has 10k more points than you and it's like what the? How'd they do that?

Reaction time can grant you use of a quicker car. As it stands, when you initially start GT5, you can't drive a Level 19 car in Simulation without reaching that level. Drive all you want in Arcade but not until you reach Level 19 in Sim MODE. Get the understanding? And the skill to master, there is no disagreement there. And isn't what I'm suggesting part of that science? It's also not about I'm going to hop in the HKS SKYLINE R33 and see how fast I can go.

You say that like the level system in GT5 is a good idea. It isn't and neither would your restriction. Yes nobody gets to the top in one day but they don't do it in a few weeks either. This is a video game, we don't need obstacles like that. If we did most people could never race an F1 car in the game.

As GT5 is you can't race an F1 until you have the money or Reach the appropriate level. We all know this game is not polished. If GT6 bring back passing license tests before you can advance, what then? It is a game exactly. part of the simulation aspect is a basic test. Some games start off by letting you drive and find out what aids you need to help you drive the car. If you do well, some aids may be turned off, if not so well, some aids remain on. Formula 1 drivers use this light system heck, even V8 supercar drivers use the light system to check their reflexes and reaction time.

It's nuts because reaction time is not one bit relevant to how fast a car you can drive down the strip.

Do you think PD added a drag mode for Gran Turismo 6? A lot of Americans and some Canadians are really into. I hope there is 3 modes or more.

1/4 mile

1/2 mile

1 mile

Unless it goes a lot deeper than Forza then there is no point in it. Forza added it after so many whiners cried for it but what they did was not much. No possibility of false start, no missed shifts, no blown engines, no wheelies, no burn out. You could literally set the car to an auto close your eyes and hold the throttle to the floor and beat the AI every time.

Then again I am not much in to video game drag racing. Takes longer to load the event than it does to run it.

They revealed some stuff now.

They will reveal some more at E3, again more at Gamescon and finally in Tokyo.

That's three more chances for them to reveal drag racing.

I'd love me some drag racing in GT6. They had a glimpse of it in what.. GT4? Then stepped away from it, which was a bit disappointing.
They hinted it to be in both GT2 and GT3 but for some unknown reason it never made it. I've been hoping for a drag racing mode ever since.

So now that we all know GT6 is coming this Holiday Season,(hopefully:nervous:), I wanted to see what the Teams and Solo Drag Racers, want to do in the future of this Series.

I myself, am looking forward to driving the first Honda I can get my hands on:dopey:
As far as the Team, well I dont know what will happen:nervous:, but I assure you, you will still see R Spec Tune in the future.

I don't want to turn this into a wish thread, but if its anything like FM4 dragging then HELL :censored:ING YEAH hahaha

I went to Gamestop this past weekend. The guy there said it will be available for both consoles, whenever the ps4 comes out.

I'll drag in gt6, but after I do a lot of the a-spec races

I never thought of drag racing in a game specially GT, but once I entered a room for the first time I got hooked immediately so I can't see myself not dragging in the new one. Who knows maybe we can use another track with an actual 1/4 mile mark or not.
